22 HP Predator engine won't start. So here is an explanation on why it didn't. I'm not very happy with our experience with these engines in the pressure washer field. I'm making it a point to discourage contractors from being cheap and just getting a better engine. Because in this case going cheap has been severely expensive.

Thanks for posting your video. I had a similar problem with a new Predator 670 engine. The carb float was sticking due to rubbing the float bowl. Sanding the edge of the float cured the problem. The Toro mower that I installed it in is now running great again!

I made this because I see people preaching about this engine.... And for us it's been nothing but problems. I only have 24 hours in a day to be alive and I have to sleep some of it. We are too busy to deal with these random headaches. And for owner operators starting out I get it, they have time. I don't. Every hour I waste is money I'm not making.

Its operator error not the engines fault. If you let any carburated engine sit without draining the fuel bowl it'll do that.

exactly. All engines have problems from time to time. The honda that they copied the design from has a better charging system and some better factory accesories like the cheap fuel pump. But it's also an easy ten minute fix to repace the fuel pump with a better B&S pump.

Kawasaki or Honda engines is your best option for longevity and great performance! Good idea on discontinuing this engine as it would cause your trailer builds to go down in quality.

Small engines should only use Marine Gas. 100% Gasoline... not gas that contains ethanol of any type.

Mines brand new out the job runs for 3-5 min then dies not sure if it’s a sensor

Many times it’s the fuel pump. The one they come with is trash and should be replaced with a Honda fuel pump from the get go.

So you dont think the corrosion would of happened on a more expensive engine? Did you get it running?

No, when we put it back on then the fuel pump failed (worked prior to taking it off). We have given up on these engines. This engine has less than 400 hours. Which is why I get frustrated because we don't run into these issues so early on when using a different engine.
