Better than most marvel movies

They’re a rescue team, not assassins!

They didn't have green screens back then and used actual environments for shots.

Because : 1. The idea still fresh at that time. Still few film offering similar concept. 2. People in the old days tend to appreciate the movie they had watched, regardless its flaw. When they don't like it, they leave it. But today, people who don't like particular movie would spread critics and hatred to other audiences, with intention to bail that movie out. Hence they put filming industries in general into dilemma & unhealthy struggle.

The art of moviemaking seems to have peaked in the 80s or 90s... And yeah, Predator STILL works.

I still remember the feeling when I was watching this for the first time 30 years ago. I was scared shitless.

Especially the moment when they show us a hand of the predator holding a scorpion, in his infra-red vision. And you then understand it's no human... But *what* it is, you still don't know. Daaamn 😵

No after prey sorry

Yeah, even after Prey has come out I still prefer Predator. Story flows much better, each character actually has personality. The brutality feels raw in Predator and has aged really well. Compared to Prey. Prey has very monotone story, characters and has too many inconsistencies that hurt the immersion of watching the movie. Prey is interesting in other areas but I’d still put Predator before it

There's so many stories of the nightmare production during the jungle shoots, but in the end, was so worth it. As the original Predator stands tall, no sequels or remakes have came close .

I would have agreed as a kid but now I am sold on the original Alien. Predator is a more dynamic monster but the lore behind Alien is more intriguing in my opinion.

@@alvzcizzler Nuthin beats T2! T2 is much better than T1 but T1 for its time was pretty damn fuckin good so gotta give respect where it's due! And T2 was I think exactly 10 yrs later so just in 10 yrs time the special effects & CGI evolved sooo much but it was dope how Cameron used practical along with special effects! T2 is just hands down one of the best movies of all time & I think it's the undisputed GOAT sequel in movies history!

Prey? Like so many modern films it’s probably gonna be littered with sanctimonious lectures about identity politics. Every man has to be portrayed as a coward, moron or a sadist in a lazy attempt to elevate the status of the main lady character. Thats called - true classic movies. No matter how many times you watched it - its not losing the quality. I must watched Predator, The thing , Alien, and other movies of this level like 50 or more times till today - and i can say that i can double or even triple this amount in next 20 years or so.

It comes down to demographics. The only profitable audience that attends films now is 14 year olds in the US and China. It's not that they can't make movies like this anymore, it just doesn't pay the bills.

Couldn't agree more. My dad bought this in those VCR tapes back then too. He would go on and on about it before the movie even started. I thought it was just another Action Syfy movie until it all started! Kept me on my toes every second until the end. After that it became my favorite film till date. Just as my dad I'd go on and on about it . I saw this film about a 100 times as a kid . Not even the newest predator film could beat this masterpiece. All the rest of the movies were shit after this

I saw this film as a child back in 1987 and it terrified me, the look of the predator, the setting, how it goes invisible and when u look thru its eyes, plus the sounds it makes, if ever im in a forest or even if i have a bad dream its in my head, shows how fab this film was!

I was traumatized for close to 10 years coz of this movie. I'd run and hide in another room when my uncle and elder brother put it to watch. Funny part is I'm now obsessed over the franchise.. @@darania1 I had always heard the Dulce base was a joint human/reptilian bioengineering facility using ancient reptilian caverns we modernized. The war was involving a rogue special forces unit that went in to rescue civilians held captive. Real or not, it’s the type of “true” science fiction that goes back to The Shaver Mystery in the 1940s. I always loved that kind of stuff.
