PREGNANCY INSURANCE - What You NEED to Know from a Midwife! - I discuss Pregnancy Health Insurance in today's video. If you have any questions about Pregnancy Insurance leave them in the comments below. Not a lot of people know about a midwife's favorite insurance companies, which are the Christian-based insurance companies. I think that Christian-based insurance companies, like Medishare & Christmas Ministries, are the best health insurance for pregnancy, because they value what a midwife does with her hands off approach to birth, and a lot of them even pay the doula fees so that you can have a doula at your birth.
Midwives also accept traditional insurance from companies like Blue Cross, United Healthcare, Cigna & Aetna, but they are not our favorite. I'll do another video about Medicaid.... that's a whole different story.

@cajunstork I am curious about any differences between hospital contracted midwives and a midwife I select that is out of network such as will my experience and care be different? I want a home birth.

It depends on your area. In Louisiana, CPMs (like me) don't work in the hospital and CNMs tend to work shift work in a hospital mostly. The out of hospital birth is a smaller practice size and more personalized approach.

@@CajunStork doc my sister is an international student being a regional doc myself in my country .I'm scared she might get into an unplanned pregnancy. we had to spend a lot of time , effort and money,mortgage our home to send her to USA for education, there is no option for her to return back unless she had done with her studies. She already had a college insurance which costs us around 500 dollars every semester but it doesn't cover maternity, preexisting conditions until 12 months. Are there any insurance or more ways that can help us with low waiting times.I was not able to find any vauble info in this case of international students.I'm ready to take any extra insurance to release burden on her. She is quite stressed out and scared.

Medicaid has different companies under them etc: LA Connections, Aetna, Cigma is all under Medicaid. You just have to know which one in particular you have.

what you need to know is this. stop having babies when you don't have a job, insurance, or a stable partner or spouse. this isn't a game people that actually need medicaid can't get it becasue all these young kids and lazy adults keep getting pregnant

What an ignorant an unfortunate response some people are working and have a stable spouse or end up in situations that they didn't think were possible and need help. It doesn't hurt to apply for help and as a US citizens whom pays taxes you should be able to do so. May someone be so kind and gracious to you if you end up in a similar situation.

pregnancy happens sometimes........why don't you stop having medical problems? sort of out of your control in certain situations? well then you want to think about that comment you made some more?
