Shaley is open and honest about what it felt like to be pregnant with undiagnosed bipolar disorder and diagnosed at 32 with a toddler and preschooler. Shaley talks about everything from postpartum hypomania & anxiety to how her therapist suggested that she might just be a 'snowplow' parent to her now teenage daughters. It hasn't been an easy road but Shaley has found ways to manage her bipolar disorder and be the best mom she can be to her daughters. Thank you Shaley this episode was really insightful. Thank you for sharing your story. I feel that when I commit to something, I often overdo it. I’m scared this and the fact that I have Bipolar 1 would be a challenge with kids. I’m scared that my child would become bipolar as well which is likely.

You are so welcome. Parenting is definitely one of the hardest things I have done. With support and treatment is is doable. I really do love being a Mom. I do know however, I could not do it without my support system, meds and treatment plan.
