I really admire how you kept the details of your loss private “in honor” of your baby’s memory. Absolutely beautiful.

Hi I am listening to your video because 3 weeks ago I lost my fetus baby at 3 months pregnant there wasn't any heartbeat unfortunately 😭 I do have 2 kids already a son age 6 and a daughter 19 months so I didn't even expect this pregnancy to be a loss it was scary and I had less morning sickness which scared me more as my other pregnancy I had bad morning sickness with them when I went for my first ultrasound they said they was so sorry there isn't no heartbeat I thought they was messing me around I was traumatized I still think about my baby every second of every day I got a memory box of my hospital to keep everything in there from my pregnancy. So I am sorry about your loss I'm not the only one out there that's sharing the same trauma but we will get through this and stay strong

I have had a lot of trouble with pregnancies. I had two miscarriages before having my son. Then I instantly got pregnant with my daughter. I got pregnant pretty fast again. And I lost that baby at my 20 week scan. It was the worst. That was in 2018 and I just now got a positive test. I am so excited and nervous.

I lost my first pregnancy as well. I had well meaning friends try and get me to do all kinds of segulas including, but not limited to: wearing a ruby at all times, going to visit a lady who could remove ayin haras with a pan of hot lead passed over my head, checking for upside down books in my house to get my breech baby to flip over etc. I think a lot of crazy superstitions have crept into Judaism over the years from surrounding cultures. I enjoyed your video, and I hope to read your book one day!

Oh my gosh I had heard of most of these but not a pan of hot lead (which sounds really scary!). I'm sorry to hear of your loss and hope you've found some comfort and healing. Thank you so much for watching my video

Does anybody took aspirina in their second pregnancy after stillbirth ? . The doctor told me it helps not to have knots in the umbilical Cordon. But I’m still scared to take it even they say it is safe

We absolutely prescribed to the custom of not preparing a Nursery, we had just the things that we would need immediately upon coming home from the hospital, we did not reveal that I was even pregnant to anybody except who we had to until I was 20 weeks pregnant and very visibly showing, and we did not reveal the gender until the baby was born. But at no point in time did I think any of this was superstition, and that if I did do this it would bring upon the evil eye. I had always reacted to these customs as protecting the mother from unnecessary stress of having to explain to people what happened, or getting rid of a whole bunch of baby things. I absolutely can't stand the thought of people calling my unborn baby by the name that we want, because it makes it way too real. My husband and I came up with a pre birth name for our son. We also refused as many baby showers as we possibly could ( my work did have a baby shower for me right before I left, so there was very little avoiding that). I like these customs, and I'm very disappointed to hear that in some communities these are treated like superstitions to ward off bad luck, because exactly like you said that just makes people feel responsible if something bad does happen. I don't think that should be the mentality in the slightest.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience, you are right that considering these customs as a means of protecting women is a much kinder and more empowering view of them! Baby showers and such a hard for me too because I just didn't grow up with them so I hear you on that. Thank you for watching my video!

I can identify with you on so many levels! My mother didn’t even want anyone around my son or talk about his birth until his bris! Oy vey! He’s now almost 25 and doing extremely well 😉 Looking forward to reading your book. Ps- No worries about being in your 30’s... I had my youngest baby at 36 and she is a wonderful and happy 7 year old!

I might have a controversial opinion, but I think "hiding" the pregnancy from people (outside of work, I can understand that) is pretty stupid custom. You shouldn't be the only one(s) with the burden of fear of something going potentially wrong. Whether it's your family or your close friends, they should know what you are going through and why are you acting different. They are your close ones, they should help you with this period - especially, if things go wrong. After a year of not being able to conceive, I was diagnosed, treated and operated with endometriosis. Then I had 4 IVFs. First ended in 7th week, second in 10th week, third was negative and I'm now on in 7th week of the fourth. I lost jobs and gained over a third of my original weight due to my treatment. People are gonna notice and lies only stresses and frustrates you.

Thanks for sharing! A dear friend of mine lost her baby at 16 weeks. She and her husband named the baby but vowed to never share the name with anyone and I think that’s really special. Third boy in 4 years?!! You’re a boy making machine! Isn’t it kind of weird how much knowing the gender changes things for people? I didn’t realize until you said it but I think I’m getting way less specific questions from people since we aren’t finding out.

Lol I know I think about this all the time and laugh, all boys all the time! Totally I think not revealing gender can really help keep the questions at bay.
