My parents helped me. If you aren't familiar with the term dope sick then imagine having diarrhea and vomiting at the same time while having the chills, a fever, and sweating at the same time. Then imagine having a stomache flu and the normal flu on top of that and then the bone aches, mini brain shocks you see in your eyeballs and it goes on for weeks. There are a few tricks to easing it up but so many ppl are unaware of the power of Imodium AD which the main ingredient, Loperamide, is in the opiate family in this super strange relationship. It just doesn't cross the blood brain barrier unless taken in super super super high doses. Atleast 100. But if your in withdrawals and don't have parents or friends to help FIX you then take 5 Imodium AD's. It's so wierd. Anyway fentanyl broke or leaked thru the package and into his system and anal membranes are super thin so the blood brain barrier passage is quick. That's why some alcoholics actually give themselves vodka enemas. No signs of it on your breath but when ya fart ....

Opioid withdrawal during pregnancy may cause respiratory depression for the unborn baby , it might be deadly, especially if the mother is a heavy user. At this point the best option was to either force her in the hospital which is pretty hard to do if someone doesn’t want to or get her opioids. She was there to get help from Dr Phil and wouldn’t have been able to sit there and listen if she was sick. It’s probably better to get her drugs and get her to go to one of the best therapy than going with the voluntary detox she could have left any time she wanted. Any baby born with drugs in their system (from marijuana to cocaine to meth to heroin) is automatically taken by CPS and put into state custody.

Its very easy to say, but not so easy when you are in that situation. The truth is you don't know what you would do until you are faced with it. I'm in NO WAY condoning the way the mom is handling it, but the older I get, the more I realize being on your "soap box" isn't always the way, when actually faced with that problem, is the way you said you would handle it is truly the way you would...ideals are great to have, but they rarely are what we do

Doctors offer methadone but the pregnant mother has to DECIDE to take it.
