Thank you so much for this video! Really helpful. At which week should you start looking for a midwife/hebamme? Also its really difficult to communicate with doctors here if you dont speak German. Any tips?

Der Jesna, thank You so much for Your feedback! You can look for a midwife as soon as you know you are pregnant. In some cities midwives are swamped with work (like Heidelberg), so I would recommend to start searching from the very beginning of your pregnancy. I am thinking about doing a video with more midwife support details. If I can help you with more information let me know 😉

Hello After confirming to your employer about the pregnancy will the pregnant woman (employee) still get paid even after Seeing that she cant work for a certain period of time or will she be fired out of work and with no pay?
@margaexpatmotheringermany
@margaexpatmotheringermany 2 года назад
Hi Lilian. According to the "Mutterschaftsgesetz" a dismission by the employer is not permitted during pregnancy and until four months after birth. However there are a few exceptions. I have a video just about the Mutterschaftsgesetz, aka maternity law, check it for more info and also get to know where you can search for more detailed information: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2KPcf-a45jo.html Let me know if I can help you further ☺️ All the best, Marga

Can you please tell me about the newborn impfung schedule in Germany We need to plan eltern seit and vacation. We want to go for 5 months but don’t no when the schedule have the gap for 5 months ☹️

Hi Nazneen! Thank you very much for your comment. That is a great topic to do a video about. But just so you get your answer right now: in Germany it is planned that babies get vaccinated at 6 weeks-old ,2 months-old, 3 months-old, 4 months-old and between 11 and 14 months-old. So I would say, concerning vaccination, the best time to go for 5 months would be between after the 4 months-old vaccination and the 11 months-old. However there are also scheduled examinations, thaw are: 4-5 weeks-old (U3), 3-4 months-old (U4), 6-7 months-old (U5), 10-12 months-old (U6), 21-24 months-old (U7)... honestly I am not sure if it is ok to miss one examination, in your case the U5. I would suggest you to talk to your pediatrician about it. I hope this information helped you. All the best for you and your family!

You seem to mix up Kindergarten and Krippe. Kindergarten starts at tge age of 3 only and you don't have to apply before birth already.

Hi Peter! Thank tou for your comment 🙏🏼 You're right 🤦🏻‍♀️ Thank you for spotting it. I will make a note on the description of the video. I wanted to say day care (Kitta/Krippe/Tagesmutter). I actually have a video about the differences between those: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-QJcHPkOWs9w.html

Hi! I wanted to ask if I should go to the frauarzt before pregnancy to discuss with her? Right now I am planning to have a baby.
@margaexpatmotheringermany
@margaexpatmotheringermany 3 года назад
Hi F A! I guess you can do it if you would like. But I guess that is not common. Also, if you have a consultation just to discuss a possible future pregnancy with her, I don't believe that the health insurance (if you have a state one) will assume the costs. You can talk to your Frauenärztin next time you go for a routine appointment.

@margaexpatmotheringermany
@margaexpatmotheringermany 3 года назад
Hi Miraal! Great point that you are raising. The answer would be: No, it is not necessary to find a midwife. But (there is always a but 😜) and specially if is your first child and you are far from your family (mother, ants, cousins...) a midwife will be a huge help, she will do constant check-ups on you and your baby, will answer all your questions (and trust me, you will have many!) and she will also identify any other healthy issue that needs support form other health specialists. A midwife would make you feel more supported and confident. I hope this answers your question 😊 wish you and your baby all the best!

@@margaexpatmotheringermany That´s just a cultural diference. Most Germans won´t just approach a stranger without being asked.That doesn´t mean they´re not prepared to help.
