There wasn't pavement like today. If you drive from teecnospos to shiprock you can still make out the old dirt roads from long ago, they meandered from spring to spring. My grandmothers house to shiprock back then was an hour and a half travel, today it's 15 minutes.
Agreed, I grew up in Farmington as well and dealt with a lot of that from people I called friends and teachers / coaches but through all that, there were a lot more positive people in my life. 🤙🏾
