What I appreciate about this scene compared to others is that it’s from the side, camera’s already out the water, and there’s no big bad music so it’s relatively quiet in this scene
This is also a clear homage to real life footages of Great White hunting seal. That, in my opinion, makes it feel more authentic and surprisingly refreshing.
@@paleoraptor1181 yeah and in the first one with the Beelzebufo whoever it jumps in the water there is a small wave which immediately dissipates and all the surrounding water is static. It’s still great and a lot of the designs are arguably better, brighter displays on the pterosaurs and sauropods and the osteoderms on the abelisaurids are more accurate. But it’s arguably gotten worse at sticking to something as it shows even more environments and different creatures with even less time devoted to each one. And the vfx and cgi aren’t quite as good. Especially with the water.
I remember singing Ocean Man when I was a docent for a prehistoric marine animals exhibit. there is a permanent correlation whenever I hear either the song or see a mosasaur breach.
As someone who grew up watching Shark Week, this feels like a great white breaching while hunting seals rather than a cinematic shot of a flying moasasaur.
Ocean man, take me by the hand Lead me to the land that you understand Ocean man, the voyage to the corner of the globe Is a real trip Ocean man, the crust of a tan man imbibed by the sand Soaking up the thirst of the land Ocean man, can you see through the wonder of amazement At the Oberman Ocean man, the crust is elusive when it casts forth To the childlike man Ocean man, the sequence of a life form braised in the sand Soaking up the thirst of the land Ocean man Ocean man Ocean man Ocean man, take me by the hand Lead me to the land that you understand Ocean man, the voyage to the corner of the globe Is a real trip Ocean man, the crust of a tan man imbibed by the sand Soaking up the thirst of the land Ocean man, can you see through the wonder of amazement At the Oberman Ocean man, the crust is elusive when it casts forth To the childlike man Ocean man, the sequence of a life form braised in the sand Soaking up the thirst of the land Ocean man
Seriously, I want a movie where a mosasaur eats some device that's playing this song on a loop, so it can be heard every time the creature appears, a la the croc from Peter Pan.
@Meraxes_Gigas Attenborough said something along the lines of: "A majungasaurus, this one in particular in blind in One Eye" I know it's not really a reference but I just noticed how they said the name and everything😏
To their credit, at least it isnt snapping its jaws at the camera Rather doing something no other mosasaur has done, using themselves as a living torpedo and killing their prey by sheer blunt force
I like to think Naish/Favreau had been trying so hard to not do a mosasaur breaching because it would be stereotypical untile the urge to do the funny big lizard jump became too strong to resist any longer
My laptop is too shitty to play and record games on it, which is why I can't stream or make videos about it. I'll just get the Nintendo Switch version for me, personally. However, the Switch version currently has a bug where it crashes after too many manual saves, so I won't buy it until that bug is fixed.
