I just wanted to let viewers and fans know. Today is December 5, 2021 and our friend here SD Dean passed away this evening. It is a sad day and we have lost a real friend and genuinely great guy.
I'm very sorry to hear this. A truly humble, nice individual. The world of archeology has lost much with the passing of Mr. Dean. He possessed a wealth of knowledge regarding this part of East Tennessee. R.I.P. Mr. Dean. Condolences to all family, friends and loved ones. 🙏🏼🙏🏼
They thought Petrified wood was millions of years old untill Saint Mount Helens threw trees into nearby lakes like toothpicks and 20 years later they started to Petrify.
I saw his presentation in the late 70s or early 80s. I worked on my Grand-Parents farm and found a lot of arrowheads and piqued my curiosity. Still love it.
That's awesome. My grandparents lived in Hawkins county and I used to walk up and down the river in their backyard and find...SO MANY arrow heads. All different kinds too, the craftsmanship is just awe-inspiring. It's so moving to think that an actual living breathing human being MADE that, and it's STILL here! A human being with thoughts and dreams, and other people he loved and cared for. And all of those things are humbly represented in the making of that tiny fragile object, that somehow made it from then to now. Man. I have gotta stop smoking reefer before I RU-vid 🤔
I got permission to hunt on a guys property headed west towards Memphis TN a few years ago, when I met with the guy to show me around he showed me all kinds of fossils and parts of dinosaur skeletons he found on my his property, but the best was when he took me out to this big limestone cliff and showed me this super long section of some sort of dinosaur tail section he was excavating, don't know what it was but it was at least 10 ft long, and that's just what we could see, I was truly shocked at what he was finding on just his 100 acres! Amazing!

@@jonericus No reason to be an ass, the Cherokee were here way before any Europeans, and being that she is of Cherokee heritage I'm sure there are many generations and stories that have been passed down to her through family and tradition. Just like I'm sure you remember what the first Europeans asked the Cherokee when they first arrived, 100's of years ago..... the Cherokee have roots in this soil thousands of years before any Europeans made the trip across the pond.
S D Dean was a very interesting and endearing fellow. He has since passed away. He is responsible for finding one of the oldest prehistoric human fossil sites in the eastern United States at long island Kingsport Tennessee beside the South fork of the Holston River.

Just because a piece of a certain pottery style has not 'been found' outside a timeline does not mean there was none. If something is found older than any other found does not mean it was the first. Most things do not fossilize or is found.

When he says it's very unusual to find d different Eras tools in the same location ,I'd have to say it's actually common since I've located several places where there have been camps villages or settlements, river crossings with all these artifacts, plenty of clovis and later
Im from mcminn county TN grew up at the foot of Star Mt ive never actually seen fossils i dont doubt there are some but me and a friend of mine i grew up with found cannon balls stuck in the banks of cane creek..im assumin it was from the actual civil war time or the battle of Athens...i know it was the battle of Athens but ya know its right next door to Etowah TN

I don’t know if this is of interest or not, some of you may already be aware. But something dawned on me ... starting in North America you can go from the 5 toed Mastedon to the 5 toed Woolley Mammoth to Africa’s 4 toes elephant to the 3 toes elephant in India. It’s a straight line from the oldest to the newest ... like Africa was part of Central America ... no elephants in South America ... Woolley mammoths found though ... it was cold there at one time? 40 million years ago Africa started drifting from it. Fascinating!
There was a Pygmy Mastodon found in Channel Islands outside of Santa Barbara. It had fallen in a sinkhole. Trapped there until it died of starvation. Children were finding Megalodon teeth in the river outside of Templeton. Obsidian knives were found in the river toward the Pacific in the same area. I mentioned these things to my Anthropology teacher. He said "People don't like having digs on their property. Plus it's Too expensive."He wasn't willing to follow up.
I happened across a megalodon tooth and do believe it to be museum quality. It measures 5 3/4 top to bottom and 4 1/2 side to side. Anyone interested please contact me
The "Mounds" that are referred to as burials... are HOUSES that were buried by a LARGE FLOOD that suddenly struck the area. That's why they were SITTING UP. THIS has been covered up, pardon the pun. BTW - Carbon Dating is a sham. The reading will give you however many dates you want. When it gets one that fits the narrative. They go with that one. That how Carbon Dating works.
It is my summation,...through my own interaction in the Cold Springs area near Townsend TN on top of a ridge.,......that the Dire Wolf IS NOT extinct. Or a hybrid this wolf at the least. Ive seen a few wolves native to TN.. THEY ARE HERE. But,....what I witnessed,....was a wolf that stood approximately 4 and a half to 5ft tall at the shoulder. Its head was absolutely enormous. Probably the size of a full grown tiger. It was black with streaks of silvery grey streaks. It probably weighed anywhere from 300 to 400lbs. After watching this monster running through a fire cut line of timbers,....I realized it was after a small fawn. Which it caught easily and carried off looking like a rat in its giant jaws. There is footage on youtube of an identical specimen of the wolf I saw. I believe the title is "a werewolf attacked my dog". The largest normal grey wolf or any current wolf of today is barely half the size of what I saw. I wrote down every detail of what I saw as to not forget a single detail. I then approached a TN. game warden my family has known for years. I told him what I saw. Before I could finish laying it out,.....he stopped me and said,...."that's enough son. You saw a big black wolf. That's all." To which I responded,....."Um,..No! I saw an absolutely enormous wolf." He laughed at me. Patted me on the shoulder an walked off. I was so steamed. I've been currently trying to acquire a photo of this creature by hiking the area I saw it in every free moment I have. I've seen it one other time at an extreme distance I could not photo. I do however have a picture of a clear track that makes my hand look comically small. I WILL PHOTOGRAPH OR ATTAIN VIDEO OF THIS CREATURE. I've had a close call with a black bear as I left a pig's rib cage I purchased from a local butcher trying to lure it into the area I saw it in. The bear was offended by my presence and let my know rather quickly. Almost had to shoot the ole girl. Either way. One day,...it will get it done. It's an incredible creature.

@@crazycrystalsconspiracies So it was in a fairly rural and wooded area?? That's a good sign. You saw it had a line of hair like a razorback tuft of hair. Another great sign. Just based on what you've told me here Crystal,.....he or she was a juvenile. 300lbs? Doesn't have his grey mane yet? Now that's just my opinion Crystal because obviously,.....I wasn't there. Doesn't really mean anything to date as we don't have enough concrete data about them yet. But,....I think you saw a juvenile. The sex of it??? Well. Like the females for instance. There is ZERO data about the differences in a female dire and a male dire from the fossil records. It's like they have never found one. Which is strange I think. The male I've been watching and attempting to track is so elusive its nearly impossible to get alot of "in the field" data and info. He is a monster though. He would dwarf the one you saw. @@crazycrystalsconspiracies So,...the next time you see it,....if at all. Wait til it's safe obviously,...and inspect the area you saw it in. Look for a track, hair sample, and even scat. Usually when you see one of these majestic monsters,....they've been watching you far longer than you've been seeing them. You know,.....I've never felt actual fear when I've encountered him,....but he did manage to sneak around me one day undetected and really spooked me. He was around 100 yards away,...but still. Something that enormous moving that stealthy around you and flanking you?? Unnerving to say the least. So I have 2 hair samples and 4 pictures of tracks. The paws on this old boy doubles the size of my hands. Just massive. He is literally just a tad smaller than a full grown horse or donkey. I bet he could take a fully mature black bear like it was a rabbit. Now Ive yet to find any scat,.....however it's not out of the realm of possibility that they cover it or designate its placement for territorial reasons. I don't know. I know wolves don't typically cover their scat,....but this thing is no regular wolf. It's in that family,....but I think he is from a bloodline of the FIRST WOLVES. The grandfather of them all. If this thing we are are seeing ISNT a dire wolf Crystal???? Then what the hell is it???? I'd love to know.
Made their own? They typically went down into the 1000’s of caves in Tennessee. Then they would do a rough cut per-say of the flint balls or whatever theyre called. This was to make it so they could get more useful flint out. Otherwise it would weigh a ton. They’d be deep jn caves using torches soooo yeah.
I just see swirls in some of the flint to where it has me thinking that they may have made some of the flint as a glazier would make glass. Flint that has 50 layers where it’s white then gray all the way down.

A good place to take your bone is to UCSB. Sometimes when you submit things you'll never see them again. But that seems to be an important finding. They may be able to research it and find more if it's appropriate in your area you may have a college there ??

So if I could ask my dude, well i have a few things I'm not sure if he was a forensic anthropologist but what did you think of the fossil and and now I'm assuming a predator or animals didn't go there to hunt or to die but a human left those so what do you think about him deciding to store the bones in that cave I think it's cool to think about like that first fossil getting there dying there, and then millions of years later this man finds it and he's like all these bones are made out of rock ??? Now that tva has been disbanded I wonder if they have chucked the artifacts because e they have no I tension of preserve ingredients the sites, I fact the army core of engineers seem to have consistently covered many if not most archeological morphological sites across the country . I've seen artifa ts underwater from alabama to Oregon under army core projects. And not very many are actual registered (protected) sites. The heritage foundation whom if I'm not mistaken funds the protection of confederate sites and that's Bout it. We have a historic marker here and there but no registration and that's what makes it illegal to dig,dive or surface hunt. Either way it also gives them ownership of anything found so they can take it away from archeological records. So basicly if it's white people historic sites they preserve it but if you find a village while developing a neighborhood or golf course nobody cares. And the chaIn of command to get recognition is to go through local poli e apparently wich you could imagine wouldn't work even with a professor from a local college requesting protection.

While this is all interesting I can't believe we give our tax dollars to finance digging for bones of animals that once existed,we should be spending money on things that actually matters and improves our country and the lives of our citizens.
it is important for humans to know their past so that they have a better understanding of present and future. More tax payers money is pocketed by political families than ever spent on historical findings.

@@gregorycross2200 What does it matter? It's history man! Some people are interested in what the Earth was like before humans, or even what it was like during the first humans. It's called knowledge, learning about the changes that have taken place over millions of years, learning from it. Learning about past civilizations, their progress and their decline, what led to both, jumps in evolution etc..... the bigger question is why doesn't it matter? The contribution is understanding what came before us, how we came about and maybe getting a glimpse of where we might be heading, and what we contribute along the way. That may not be important to some, but to others it's fascinating work and means a great deal.
@@jademayer4995 the problem is the ones who control the release of the information on what is found. I can assure you that if it goes against the narrative it will be stored at the Smithsonian and never heard of publicly.
