Keith Emerson's new original piano piece from his new album, "Keith Emerson Band Featuring Marc Bonilla" Filmed at St. Monica Church in Santa Monica, CA www.keithemerson.com FACEBOOK: / keith.emerson.official...
Keith gave so many hope. Yet we failed to let him know important he was to us. What a great man , musician and humanitarian. Five years ago from the exact date of his death, he honored Japan and offered hope with "Rising Sun". As he lived in darkness for the past years no one offered him hope. He just gave us so much and we failed him especially the so called "fans" who criticized him in recent years. There is no player that will ever match his innovation, musicianship, showmanship and love for his fellow man. I can't stop thinking about this. All my years at Juilliard and Manhattan School of Music were not as influential as Keith Emerson. What a horrific loss!
The two musicians that inspired me in my music were Maestro Leonard Bernstein and Keith Emerson. I dedicated my orchestration of Mussorgsky's Pictures at an Exhibition to both of them. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-wZu8mNosY9o.html
This is beautiful. Keith was the greatest keyboardist of all time. Keith, you are so loved and missed every day by your fans. Your grandson Ethan is as talented as you were and he’s going to be a wonderful musician. I know your smiling down every time he plays. And I know also that your in God’s loving embrace and at peace.
Keith Emerson is one of the world's greatest musicians. There is no question about that.. If there is a question then there is very little hope for you. Maybe a sound regimen of counseling and professional guidance. But its critical that you attend all of the sessions you are supposed to.
This is the most haunting and beautiful piece That Keith has ever written. Keith was the reason that I play keyboards. The video ending got me. it's like he walked out the church door, never to be seen again on this planet.
As a kid, I would put the needle down on a record, endlessly, listening again and again, to transcribe every note of "take a pebble", "endless enigma", etc. then, practice on a keyboard I painted onto my desk in my room. I would cheerish the few times I could get my hands on a real piano. Thank you for all of that wonderful music Keith! Darrell Thomas H
Beautiful. I've known since I was a kid that your sense of harmony and melody meshes with my brain in way that makes me want to concentrate on every note, And I am still doing that listening here.
Wow...what beautiful and haunting harmonies. Keith the depth of your musicianship never ceases to amaze me. I've been a huge fan for over 30 years, and thank you for keeping your composing and performing alive. Here's to a great 2010.....Thanks!
One of your best. It saddens me to see other many great musicians run out of creativity with almost all of their great performances behind them. This is an obvious testimonial that you have not yet reached your peak. Bravo!
Keith Emerson has been and continues to be one of my favorite musician / composer. This video is one of my favorites. Its simple yes complex all at the same time.
That is the wonderful thing about music; I feel better listening to it now 4 years later: finding it was within my own archives which I own nothing but you do when you pay your bills for the internet. It is worth it as a public value to hear music as good as this is in my opinion and preferences of music.
when you are god in music and you dont need to demostrate it...., he dont have a need of to run or play intrincate for leave your mouth open and your heart ripped...., the beautifullness of this peace is out of this world...., majestic!, it enchant and hipnotice me, buff..., he was really special and with touch...., i can stay with this peace for hours....
Phenomenal. Romantic, sad, masses of deep feeling and a real sense of mystery. I was at a loss to hear of his death and would have loved to hear more like this.
This is what I heard, just a different mood is all inside me that made my mind make a ... NO, there's another one out there? ! ? I like this one. So enough of that seeking further information ... I came upon the information sought and I feel fine. Happy, good, just alright, now better...
so much emotion...I feel a depth here, especially in the pauses. There is some other thing going on here behind the music. it is transcendental in a way. The cascades, life...Nice work Monsieur Emerson!
I would have liked more pieces like this from Keith. Beautiful work this and it's a shame he couldn't adjust to only his skill as a composer. His had great speed but this for me is really where it's at.
Is it me or is this taken from Trois Gymnopédies by Éric Satie?!?! Did someone say plagiarism? It's darker sounding, but the basic structure is very similar. Don't worry, Satie won't sue, he's dead. Cheers.
The left hand is clearly inspired by the 1st Gymnopedie, but "plagiarism"? By that line of reasoning, every piece using an Alberti bass is ripping off Alberti.
Speaking of death, your ear for musical structure and phrasing, even basic notation seems dead too. And the rhythm? I wasn't aware that timing could be copyrighted or plagiarized on it's own. That's probably because it can't. Furthermore - as if that wasn't enough - Satie is from over 100 years ago, it's public domain. Even though no defense is necessary in the case of this music. Moronic comment to say the least.
