As a wearer of the Timberland PRO series, and finding them to be WAY more comfortable and warm for working on concrete for hours in my wood shop, I would love to see what is in the makeup of the footbed and sole that makes them so much more than the premium, which I started wearing when the original Herman survivors turned to garbage boots, years ago. Twice a year they have a massive sale where they unload their overstock, and since its a women's show store, no one thinks to check for boots. Had a boss who loved to travel back in the day. One day, he decided to take a trip to Russia, and when he asked the staff what they wanted as a gift from there, some asked for a shot glass or key chain. I told him to get some Timberland boots from there. I was actually joking when I told him that. When he got back from his trip, he handed out the gifts. Then he handed me a box and when I opened it, it was a Timberland boots that had some Russian writing in it. The weird thing is that I have never seen any Timbs like it. It didn't have laces but instead a rubber band like loops that you pull and attach to a wood like dowel. It's hard to explain, but needless to say, I have yet to see another one of its kind. Also, they are EXTRMELY WARM. 😊

The new one was difficult to slip my foot in them, heavier to wear and walk, and the gusseted tongue of the left is pinching bad against the ankle. It is going for return. I had purchased my first pair of Timbas recently unaware there was a basic and premium type, and I am very pleased to have just learned I have purchased the premium ones! Here in Europe the price (December-ish 2021) was far from $200.00, though, sadly. Probably the middle-man website I bought it from added an extra margin of $50.00 for themselves? Nevertheless I do not regret the buy, as the Premiums are extremely comfy and luxurious to wear! Just as has been proved in the video! Thanks for your outstanding job of a consumer advocate and a watch dog, basically!

The sole starting coming unglued from the upper, the leather on the cuff started peeling, and the stitching was coming undone as well. For 200$ I was very dissatisfied. All that said when my little brother asked for timberlands for Christmas I bought him a pair of the basics so this video was right in time.

I’ve been wearing the regular timberlands for daily wear for almost 10 years after I sprained my ankle too many times. I love ‘em. So do my coworkers apparently , as they stole some I left at work.

I'm one of those grumpy east coast people that you mentioned. These aren't really my style, but I wear them anyway, they are just a fact of life here. I have no complaints, they are cheap and keep my feet warm. Never knew about the premium model, I'll certainly go for those next time, although my years old cheapies show no signs of giving up anytime soon. Thanks for the informative video.

I have a pair of premium wheat timbs, I say they definitely are worth the extra $80 in my experience. They did keep my feet warm for sure and made many outfits look great in the process. I never had the basics, so I can't speak for those. However i should add that i certainly got what i paid for, much more durable than i anticipated and better than reviews have said they'd be. They do run a little big, so get a half size down when getting regular sizes or a full size down when getting wides. My only complaint was that the tread likes to grab rocks and sometimes the timbs can be hard with on/off access. But I can wear them all day for the most part and that makes me happy w my purchase.

Timberlands boots can cost between $75- $190 depending on the quality and size of the boots. For a pair of timberlands boots that cost $140, it costs $35 to make them and sell them to the retailer for $70 so they only pay $105 and get profit when someone buys the shoes. The company only pays 25% of the original cost to make the boots and sells it to the company for 50%. They receive 25% profit and taking advantage of us

I bought a pair of Timberland “ Forest Boots” in 1982 finally gave up on them in 1985 fully lined in leather, full leather insole, super tough soles, waterproof insulated, Made in America, bloody superb. Bought another pair, synthetic lining not so comfortable, And, as I found to my severe displeasure, not petrol resistant !!!

I had no idea they have now have two versions of the classic Timberland boot. I got my first pair in High School in the late 1980s and went through 3 pairs before moving cross country with no real winter. They were awesome. Saw a pair at DSW last week and as with many items over the years, I was dismayed by how much cheaper they looked compared to my old trusty ones back in the day. So thanks for this video, now I know the originals are still made and I'm going to order a pair!

I've been wearing my premium Timberland boots every day in winter for 5 years now, and they're still mostly good. The soles are hardly worn, except on the heel, and they've developed a crack in the leather along the big toe, where the leather meets the sole. The cracks get a little deeper each year, so this might be the last winter i wear them. The waterproofing also "wore out" at some point, so now I regularly treat them with leather grease, which did change the colour of the leather, but otherwise improved the boots and also enhanced their insulation properties. I was never too keen on the yellow colour to begin with.

My first Pair of Timbswere the basic ones. I chose them because they were lighter, I’m used to wear very light sneakers. Honestly I can say I would like them to be more cushed, but since I don’t really wear them more than twice a week I’m happy with them. :) Nice vid. 🧍🏻

I love my TImberlands, but found if they get soaking wet the liner has a lot of felt that washes off and sticks to my wet socks and takes a while to dry out, other than that they are very comfortable and well built! You should do a Walmart knock off comparison for fun! great video and I just subbed to ya!

I’ve had both the premium and basics. I got a pair of basics about 4 years ago and this winter was shopping and saw the basics and the quality has gone down on the basics tremendously. The basics use to be a good deal I would get them for Christmas when I was in middle in high school my parents would buy them on the Black Friday deal for 100 dollars. Now I’m going to get the premium again now it’s only an extra 40 dollars and the quality is just that much better.

Waterproof means no water from the outside in, but with these Timberland boots it means also no water from inside to outside. Sweaty feet after a day work. No goretex liner, so your feet are closed in and the insole gets wet.
