At service to the community, Sir! o7 Now I have an exact timeline of the ships I’ve found in the containers I got for Christmas BTW I was lucky enough to get both the Marblehead and the Marblehead L...
Domitius Severus oh, I got more and better ships, too. The overlap between my list and Flamu’s shit list is almost 100%. It’s just that my list is longer...
In my experience gorizia is not half that bad of a warship. German hydro on a tier 7. AP packs some damage on broadside BB and SAP while situational is effective
The video started on the Marblehead lima which I got in a crate after I already had a Marblehead from one last year. I was not happy with the crates this year. First time where I honestly didnt get my moneys worth. The biggest boat I got was Graf zepplin after over $250 in crates this year. The rest was pretty much the first few in this video.
It’s all about money! They game has you buy crates with all the crappy ships in them first so that you will keep buying more crates to get the better ships! I don’t waste money on those stupid crates anyway! I just feel like you have to play and earn to truly appreciate and enjoy the ships you have. Really that’s kind of the whole point of the game anyway, and buying crates is really cheating if you think about it!
Timatree DG I only spent $33 but that’s a lot on a game for me. All I really got was 500 doubloons. Other than that all I got was a bunch of crappy camos and useless signals. Crates have always been rigged but WOW this years felt so rigged
@@timatreedg5340 I have so many tier 5 and 6's I hoped to get juicy valuable drops now. Nope, wg added bad new shit. I did get lucky an for the 100 euro spent I got a Nelson and Atlanta, from the received gold I bought the Massachusetts and the Anshan
I actually like the Viribus Unitis alot. The damage you can make is just extreme in Tier 5. You can One Shot any Cruisers and some of the BB if they show Broadside. Its my guilty pleasure :3
Darnath Lysander agreed, it makes you a better player by using some of these ships, my fave CA is that Huangue (spelling), i get decent credits with it (don’t know why he said it doesn’t do that) and I kill DDS and other light cruisers all day long in it.
@@captainbejo3513 huanghe is not a CA, but a CL as it has 152mm guns. But I agree with you, I think huanghe is not that bad, decent AA for its tier, excellent concealment, and small profile, it's just like a Yubari with smoke. I just hope it has both hydro and torpedo booster on separate slot so that you don't have to choose.
I tend to do mediocre with my Kirishima. Meanwhile Oct Rev (actually good but hasn't exactly aged well) does decent and Viribus has a nasty habit of mauling hlaf the enemy team on her lonesome.....yes I flank with her you can do it because shes so slow (yet stealthy) that the enemy puts themselves in a crossfire for you to punish :D
It should be better now. WG changed the Ap from the Special short fuze Ap to the normal AP.. I was never a fan of the short fuze ap because the Shells arm before they travelled trough the armor plate So Hood, Vanguard and Warspite have normal AP.
Damian Dörhoff you forgot Thunderer on that list with standard fuse. With that said Hood despite having the same gun as Warspite. Has very crap krupp values. It wasn’t the short fuse that prevented you citadeling a musashi but the pathetic penetration values. Short fuse AP can penetrate single layer belt armour scheme on ships just fine - its when against ships with turtleback or spaced armour layers - where the ap detonates too early before penetrating the citadel.
@@TEGRULZMonarch and Hood guns are not the same. Well same 380mm caliber and the trait of low Krupp values for the British, except Hood has an even lower Krupp value and worst pen than Monarch. So rly you citadeled a Musashi fine in a Monarch because it has much better pen than Hood.
NICEEEE I GOT BOTH MARBLEHEAD AND THE KRASNY GRIM FROM THE SANTA CONTAINERS. ALL I EVER WISHED FOR:) edit: oh my lord I ALSO GOT YAHAGI AND THE VIRIBUS FFS Also Huanghe, and the hood, and... the Vanguard. You were literally calling out my 'ships from containers' list. I spent way too much for this shit.
I hear nothing but negative comments from different CC about Huanghe, but I have to disagree. It sets fires like almost every volley and has extremely good AA. Despite having one turret less it outperforms both Perth and Leander in my experience. The only other ship on the list I have is Blys, and I reluctantly have to agree. It used to be one of my favourites, she now collects dust in the dry dock. Such a shame.
You have to explain to me how it outperform Perth. Same accuracy as Perth. I did check and they both have 2 .0 sigma. Rate of fire is 7 sec instead of 8 but has 2 less guns so it does not compensate for the lack of guns. Torps have same range. It has no spotter to extend its pitiful gun range. On the contrary of Perth, you cannot install the smoke upgrade.
@@VuHien2011 "In my experience" I set fires with almost every volley. Perth rarely does. I don' t use the spotter, I use the fighter. By 'smoke upgrade' do you mean the crawl smoke? HuangHe does get that. I hardly ever need the rear turrets when I use Perth/HuangHe So that is my personal experience. I don't say it suits everyone. Of the two ships HuangHe suits ME better.
Same but I find her more to be a fun meme ship... mainly because of her god tier AA. In my first match with her I shot down like 50+ planes. I use her pretty much as a DD escort into the caps and find that it works pretty well.. catching CV's off guard when they lose all their planes. Guns are laser beam accurate as well for hitting enemy DD's which is nice too... but with only 6 of them trying to hurt any bigger classes is kind of a pain.
@@wesgeorge4112 "come into a cap wreck DDs, torp BBs and cruisers that get too close. Huanghe is a good ship. " Doesn't that pretty much sum up any destroyer/cruiser hybrids though? I mean you can win with any ship, regardless of how bad it is, just as you can fail in any ship, regardless of how OP it is. Also, a "fun" ship isn't necessarily a good ship. As far as t6 cruisers are concerned, Huanghe is a very subpar ship though.
@@junkiexl86 Yes that sums up any cruiser/destroyer hybrid, that has creeping smoke and can use it to stroll into a cap haha. Not many ships that can do that. Huanghe has the best concealment of any cruiser in the game. It has outstanding AA which means you won't be targetted by CVs, and if you are, bad for them. Again, these features coupled with travelling smoke allow you to get away with things most other ships would never do.
My Christmas crates, Hood, Huang-he, krasny and Bayard :p saved it from being terrible pull. Got the gascogne in a super container as well at some point. On the Nuestrashimy though, I have seen if put to good use for T9 ranked by Destroyer Kuroshiokai.
I got the Huanghe from a container, and it is my favorite premium to play, simply because it needs to be played smart to have any effect. It also comes with that funny walking smokescreen, which is a very nice gimmick against torpedo waves and blindfiring. Overall it lacks firepower though, however with that smoke you can bring yourself in torpedo range. Which is dangerous of course, for you have the lowest health pool of all T6 cruisers. I'd say it's fun because it's challenging :) I wouldn't pay money for it though
Also got it in a container. With an 8.3 detection range I find it very stealthy. Also, looking at the AA, I have set it up for this. Planes get knocked out (including T8 ones). Best I got was 71 planes against two T6 carriers. I love the Perth so I knew how to play this (and it has better gun range than the Perth)
I bought it for 2.24 EUR on a Steam sale. Was not happy it it the first battles but I'ver learned how to play with it and got much better. It is also my most favorite premium ship to play. I love the fact that is has 8.3 km consealment and 4.2 km with firing the main guns in smoke. And the AA is great too. I would buy it again.
@@truckerallikatuk she has among the most accurate guns in the game and very high HP for her tier. If you know what you're doing vanguard can be very effective.
I adore the Marblehead, but T5 is my favourite tier anyway, especially cruisers. I have well over 400 games in my Marblehead and like it so much I also bought the Marblehead Lima (albeit at a huge discount!)
A good overview of premium ships with weaknesses. Some of those can be played quite successfully, so I wouldn't call them "useless", but you correctly pointed out the weaknesses and you correctly said that there are more powerful, similarly priced alternatives. Nicely done. :)
I have a yahagi and for anyone who does have a yahagi, I advise you to keep your distance. 15km range artillery. Almost 40 knots with speed boost, and 12km torpedoes with an 8 torp salvo is impressive at tier 5, so keep far away to stay alive and keep doing damage. You cannot rely on your guns to devastate things at close range like furutaka. Not a great ship but it can work.
If anything, I just kite away and fire HE at range in the Azuma. The HE damage is not bad, and the fire chance is pretty great, so I pretty much live to annoy battleships untill they land a shell on my ass-end.
Thank god I got the Linen from the Santa crates I love it and I just spent my coal on the Thunderer absolutely a beast of a ship 40k more free xp and I’ll have the Alaska.
How about the newly released CV Indomitable? How would you rate it? I see many CCs don't like it, but I do consistently about 100k average in her, even breaking 200k.
who gives a shit about CVs ... they could do 500k per game and I would still not play them because it's not warship gameplay. There is reason I don't have any Warplane game ... because if I wanted airplane gameplay I would install one of those.
Damn, can't believe you don't like Vanguard, it's one of my favourite premiums. I have a 70% WRT in it. It's guns reload fast, turrets turn fast, guns are accurate, decent AA, fast rudder shift, plus its just so historical, and sooo sexy.
Flamu your video made me smile. A friend bought me some Christmas crates as a thank you and I got 5 ships from the crates. Yep you've guessed it... Marblehead. Krasny Krym. Genova. Huanghe. Duca D'Acosta. That's Wargaming saying give us money for the chance of shit ships. When I thanked my friend for being generous he just said... "I hoped you would get some decent ships. But they just gave you rubbish." That kinda sums up Wargaming just lately. The word REWARD now seems to mean something you will never use and just want to throw away.
Me to. thought about selling them. Then thought if I do the crate thing next year and the mechanic for dropping ships stays the same these turds will be place holders and I may actually get something worth playing.
@@stevenjohnson4796 That's my reasoning. By keeping these turds I can force the game to give me the actual ships I want. I.E. Missouri, Gulio, Benham, really any of the "rare" ships save for Kamikaze and Musashi which I have now.
I've had great games with HMS Vanguard. Her manouverability is excellent (for a BB) and I have wriggled my way out of so much trouble in that ship whilst being able to cause lots of trouble to cruisers. Dodging shells and even torps is something she can do well. The times when I get killed in HMS Vanguard is when I am focused down by multiple ships using endless HE spam. It is rare that I just get blatted, it's nearly always when outnumbered when I suffer the most. ;-) Going toe to toe with other BB's isn't the best idea unless you have the positional advantage , so concentrating on cruisers is best. Baiting other ships to fire a full broadside from range at you is when you dodge and return fire. That's one way (and a good one) you can compensate for the poor firing angles of the turrets. That's how I use her. I've had lots of fun doing it. ;-)
@@thabombaa9055 Yes. She has incredibly inconsistent guns, squishy armor, large citadel, and bad concealment. Also, her all forward gun configuration is useless because there are so many ships now that can overmatch her 25mm bow. Not to mention all of the HE spam.
@@supertoasting1011 She's not, really. She's fast, even without a speed boost, and she can run away from most things with bigger guns, so she uptiers quite decently. She's got quick reload and great muzzle velocity, making it fairly easy to citadel many BBs in your MM spread (NY, Fuso, Izmail, Nagato, KGV...), nevermind cruisers and carriers. The only weak point for me is the AA suite. The bow armor can be overmatched, but if you stay at some distance, preferably on the flank, you'll present a small, uninviting target, and most enemies will prioritize someone else. I'd call that "psychological/tactical armor". Finally, her turret arrangement is great for pushing, as you don't have to compromise between where you're going and where you want all your guns pointing to, so you don't have to zig-zag.
Excellent! With the Santa containers WG have presented me with all the crap premiums at tiers 5, 6 and 7. Is there any way of getting refunds on the ships you haven’t touched? Or an exchange for better ships, maybe? Or should I keep them as a shield against getting them again in future drops? Thanks for the help
Tbh i also like the premium ships under t5, especially the king albert. Also the viribus unitis may have low health, but it has the highest ap dmg of its tier. It's really nice to burst cruisers and bbs with it.
The only premium here I bought was the Blyskawica - at the time, it was one of the fastest DDs and have superior fire power to other T7 DDs but as mentioned in the video, the real strength of Blyskawica was invisible firing. Any premium (or regular) ship can be power crept but the fact that WG changed the rules of the game so that the ship you purchased is, in effect, ruined is a slap in the face. I knew what I was buying when I bought the Blyskawica but what I didn't know is that WG would change the game to remove the Blyskawica's primary strength - invisible firing. It's a disgrace that WG didn't allow for Blyskawica owners to trade their ship for their money back (or at least trade for doubloons) and would just screw its customers this way.
You should not be sealclubbing, BTW. It’s BAD and scares new players away from the game. Add that to WG’s brilliant ideas and business practices that manage to piss off everyone else and it’s not a bright future for this game...
Antonio Soffici I don’t play them as often as I used to but regardless, especially the Touchybannana is FUN. One does get sick of radar, hydro, Smolensks, and planes. Also, often you play some games down there you run into some other experienced players and it becomes almost a 1 v 1 ranked.
Hood is WAY better than Dude of York... Pen matters not... The Hood's gun angles are lightyears ahead of the Dude's, and it's not all or nothing so you don't get overmatched so much. The reload and 1 less repair of the Dude makes it so trash compared to the KGV. The Vanguard gets around this as it's rudder shift is so fast. I love it, my win rate in it is north of 60%.
DoY have 3 heals stock for a year or so. It got slightly buffed during balancing pass at RN BB's when all t7+ KGV-style successors got citadel raising above waterline.
Hood is very strong in the hands of a good player. However she really can't cit other battleships unless very close & destroyers fuck her up, really lets her down.
Krasny Krym is the kind of cruiser you can do a lot of damage especially from citadels and torpedoes if you surprise an enemy cruiser or the enemy just isn’t paying attention. It requires a certain amount of time to get good at it. In my opinion it’s pre-revolution self, Svietlana, is better in the respect of you’re less likely to be fighting tier 6-7 ships with it but I have seen some of the WoWs streamers do very well with Krasny Krym so it can be useful. But it’s best not to waste your doubloons if you’re the tanking type or not going to put a lot of time into playing it.
I see an interesting trend here: in the Best Premiums list, most of the ships were obtainable with (sometimes only) with in-game resources that demand some kind of grinding, while the Worst Premium ones you can get with cash. I see what you are doing, WG EDIT: grammar.
there's very little ships on the list that you need money for ... they are mostly coal/steel/freexp these days ... the only exceptions are CVs and some DDs/German BBs ...
with 26s reload of main battery gun, 20km range (which is far enough), and 72k health. As well as not an absolute trash firing angle. He was drunk commenting this ship...
While I might not agree with the agility comments Flamu made towards Vanguard (the cruiser-like handling with 7.6 rudder shift and FBB speed), it does have a punishingly large citadel. HOWEVER, with the extremely quick rudder and good throttle control, I’ve exposed my broadside to fire all turrets and have my BB angled again when incoming fire arrived to bounce and minimize the damage. Actually got complimented for the “tankiness” of Vanguard when kiting 3+ BBs and escorts.
Well bad ship just not about Citadel and Angle. What you expect the HMS Vanguard have armor like Germany? Japan? or even Russia? I also disagree with Flamu about Vanguard coz i have this ship and i love this ship even the armor really paper and citadel really high (well all of British BBs have paper armor and high citadel right now, in game)
Premiums to avoid : Hood, Huangmeh. Me this Christmas : "Let's buy some mega santa container !" Containers : I am gonna end this man whole career ! Me : get Hood + Huangmeh (+Exeter wich is not so bad)... My wallet is currently angry at me.
Nice vid Flamu. I have most of those ships and I quite like them despite their flaws. (Marblehead and her Lima sister especially, I'm a fan of the Omaha cruisers IRL) I've had my eye on the Prinz Eitel and Hood, so your info on those two was very handy.
Actually Viribus Unitis is a nice little premium IMO: I'm a Potato, and yet my average damage is consistently twice the ship hit points with a very high VR and stats better then my Giulio Cesare. Is it OP? Certainly not, but is reasonably accurate, has a lot of fast reloading guns with good punch and low overpen tendency, it is quite maneuverable allowing to shoot full broadsides and get back to angling without too much of a risk. You need to manage your low HP pool and the large citadel, but when angled is quite trollish and performs reasonably even when Uptered. It's the perfect ship for someone who wants to "Learn" BB basics without the pain of doing that at tier VIII. It's main downfall is the abysmal AA suite, but it teaches you how to keep a low profile, stay away from CV and stick around your Cruisers. It is slow, but this avoids you to get in trouble too fast. Because it's often seen as a joke when uptieared, CV usually tend to ignore it while harassing other players.
The duke of York and the prince of wales historically used double charge on each shot meaning that the 14” guns had the power and pen of 15/16” guns but with slightly lighter shells
I didn't think that the British used super charges on the 14 inchers. I thought that was only used on 15 inch coastal batteries. Wasn't the reason that the KGV's 14 inchers had better pen than the 15 inchers was that the 15 inchers were low velocity, pre-WW1 guns with outdated shells?
Huanghe is definitely a great ship if you play it like a big destroyer. It’s the kind of ship the special modules fits perfectly on. Especially Hydro and Smoke. Captain skills should be chosen wisely to make smoke radius even better. I cannot count how many T8 ships I killed with the Huanghe, ranging from DDs to BBs. One game I even had a perfect double kill with both sides torps in less than 2 minutes. Huanghe is an hidden gem. Sure it has drawbacks but it is a versatile ship.
I have to say I have had good luck with Azuma. Good fire starter and spotter helps keep you out of reach of BB’s. The AP in other cruisers is great...however, as you said, if you annoy a BB ( especially RU ) you are deleted rather quickly
Hey, Gorizia serves a really important role of creating more ways to instablap destroyers and US/French cruisers while making it easier for BBabys to park behind hard cover near the map edge with no situational awareness and no repurcussions. Sort of like all the rocket planes.
Some of those ships I do enjoy in fact. Vanguard - great maneuverability , turret rotation also good. It’s agile it doesn’t feel so heavy. Good AA too (conqueror level so T6 cv will suffer) and those AP blap cruisers instead of overpenning them like on Roma - which I thought you’ll be unrecommending even more than Vanguard. Gascogne needs reload buff or reload booster module with base reload nerf. I thought you’ll unrecommend the Poltava - surprised me with that. Viribus I got it from Christmas crate and I also was skeptical. But after playing it - oh man it’s not bad at all. Actually I can say it’s powerful being top tier against T4-5 MM. It suffers from CV heavily . But has really good dispersion and blapping power.
So, I have the third highest WR% (solo too) and PR EU in Yahagi (muh shipfu). It's pretty interesting, that statistically speaking Yahagi ranks I believe second or third among all tier V cruisers. I think despite her obvious drawbacks, she's pretty enticing for higher skilled players at this tier :)
I love your commentary. It seems you have almost every premium out there. I only own the Ishizuchi and I don't even remember how I got it. I am a new subscriber and just finished watching both of your best/worst videos and looking to buy my first premium DD, thank you.
If you can save up 375k free exp, you can buy the Nelson. It is a really nice tier 7 premium British BB. You can also get your hands on nice premiums by just collecting coal as you play the game
Great review. What do you think about the IRIAN? This is the ship I got and some people say it is bad. I find it not too bad and unique in some way. Not a strong ship but somewhat interesting.
Personally, I strongly disagree that Hood suffers in tankiness when uptiered. In fact, when played properly, it's among the best tier 7 BBs to tank at higher tiers because so little of it is actual plating. There's a good deal of higher level armor everywhere and when angled, it can even mock Yamato shells. This is unlike most Tier 7 BBs with 26mm plating everywhere that takes pens like it's going out of style. Of course, showing broadside in this thing is asking for punishment. But I've gotten into one on one slugging matches with higher tier BBs and have come out ahead more often than not because when this thing is angled, it's pretty nigh invulnerable unless the other BB has great aim and always lands shells at the exact same small spot in the nose where it can hit the citadel behind it instead of just overpenning through the other side.
Two things you forgot about the Gascogne -1.9 sigma, compared to 1.8 of Roma, Bismarck, etc. -40 second heal- this is the Massachusetts heal- against fires alone, you stand quite well. -as previously mentioned, the reload is alright Overall, I'd say it's okay as a ship There are people who like it
Flamu. Would you contend that the Krasny Krym would benefit from a reload buff. Say anything from a 5.5 to a 4.5 second reload as opposed to its current 8 something second reload? While it would not make the ship super competitive I would think that it would make it alot more fun to play.
A new one of 2021 would be nice. Lots have change in feeling. Like hood and vanguard are way better now and it tank decently. :) Btw what your tough on kii in 2021?
I didn't have too much trouble tanking in the Vanguard. It's true that the citadel is big and the firing angles are bad, but the belt armor is very thick so even a shallow angle can protect your citadel at 10+ km. The guns are frustrating, though, the only thing they're good for is HE spamming and they're not even too good at that.
Gasgogne is not to bad but you know the Player plays with the ships not the ship with the player... Gasgogne got a nice Range too i think ya Vanguard is worst T8 but Gasgogne is way better than the Roma with only 18km lower speed and a big citadel?
I love my Azuma ship over that shitty Alaska any day, remember that she is a battlecruiser, and historically they are cruiser killers and NEVER designed to fight battleship (like the Hood). When you play Azuma and spot cruisers, punch to the dead with AP, and battleship burn them to hell with HE while staying away from them far as possible
Vanguard: last and arguably greatest battleship ever built, let down only by the main guns. Radar directed firepower, auto loading 5.25” secondaries, the best armour scheme of any battleship, and thoroughly meh.
airplanenut89 whilst a funny nickname, the fact was the 15” gun was tried and tested, with the US ordnance dept. calling it the best naval gun of ww2. Likely due to reliability in action.
Have to say, with experience the Huang He is one of the best cruisers in the game. If you are doing bad in it, you are playing it wrong. It's like a mini Belfast at tier 6, with epic concealment, torps and hydro. You can almost play it like a DD. The AA is also pretty good for tier.
KM Prinz Eitel Friedrich - The Best Secondaries and the Best AA on Tier VI HMS Hood - One of the most durable Battleships (well...it's technically a Battlecruiser but...) on Tier VII RM Gorizia - The best CA on Tier VII (I'M CHUNKING 10K+ DAMAGE ON FDG&GK FROM 20KM EACH SALVO+1-2 SALVOS ENDING DD'S)!!! MNF Gascogne - The Best Secondaries on Tier VIII!
I have the Vanguard, and you missed the point of the ship entirely. Thought it has the battleship tag for in-game purposes. It is really a nimble battlecruiser. Boost that rudder shift, it's amazing. You rely on duking rather than armor to make this ship work. And the ability to 3d print yourself a new battleship with it's heal is pretty handy since it is so easy to damage. Now, if a cruiser gives you broadside. Punish him with AP. If he is not broadsiding or you are facing a heavy BB armored to the testicles? These fast 20 second reload guns have a 20% base fire chance. Burn. Them. Dead.
I have to disagree on the Hood. Since the buffs I find her to be one of the best BBs at T7. She's so tanky, has very good turret angles for firing all of your guns, and the quirks of the guns are very familiar to anyone who plays the Warspite.
I wouldn't agree with Duca d'Aosta. Yes, she lacks firepower a bit but, at the same time, she's very versatile, quite stealthy, stupidly fast (for a CA with no engine booster) and fun to play. You can run both hydro and def AA on it. It quick velocity shells and fantastic penetration (it's notorious for citadelling light cruisers at tiers 5-6). She's just a good all-around support ship - precisely what CA should be. Overall, it's only weakness - at least as I see it - is that you should have a separate captain for it (IFHE). But that is the consequence of how they designed the Italian cruiser line (SAP, no HE).
I'm surprised Dunkurque didn't make the list, sure you get 2x4 forward-firing guns with quick rudder and traverse but: 1) you're pathetic against other BBs 2) 1 incapacitated turret means half your guns gone 3) you have no protection against the things you're supposed to be good at hunting 4) it's easier to get your ship hit at a distance since you have to be head-on and (in my experience) being mid-turn to avoid head-on gunfiring at your ship makes you an easier target than being broadside in a straight line then turning. 5) A T6 ship that has absolutely no bow protection from almost every BB above your own Tier (7 and 8), which means prepared to get cit'd due to overmatching because you will never fight anything below another T6 BB.
My first kraken was in a Marblehead Lima. My Huanghe has a 68% win rate. Yahagi isn't great but it's ok, I don't mind it. I got the Blyskawica in a crate so I'm not too worried about it. I understand they're on the list because they don't make exceptional profits.
Flamu, what you should say in Random battles, they ships are poor to play. However, I think these ships are good for only one thing. They are really good for is snowflakes in Co-Op mode. They could pay in coal, steel, and containers around WoWS Anniversary or during the Christmas holidays. That is the only reason that I still have them in my port.
I'm actually surprised for just 1 ship on that list, and its Azuma. Yes it isnt as good as yoshino, but it also gets lower tier games. ( they do happen more often now than when Azuma came out). I found the ship to be extremely damn accurate, as in hitting DD's at 15km pretty easily. When i fire, most of the shells actually hit. It does have weak armor but I think if you play the ship as a long range ship, you can draw so much fire (since everyone wants to shoot an Azuma as soon as its spotted apperantly.) and you can actually dodge pretty well since you should be pretty far out. I dont know why but I mostly get good games in it, wether our team wins or loses. And for some strange reason I kinda secretly enjoy playing a squishie ship and getting away with all the shit you try to pull off (most times xD). I know there's better ships then Azuma at its same tier like Alaska, but I sure didn't expect to see it on this list. The rest totally agree on tho xD
@@ayayaybamba3445 yeah torp accel helps alot, still get 12km range but much more usable speed, especially since you can dump 16. Its no kidd or cossack, but it gets the job done, if you can handle the hordes of weebs screaming poi at you 😄
LMAO Got most of these in santa crates. you're right about most of them but I really enjoyed the Gorizia. You do get ignored by BB's a lot which lets you just peck away with SAP at their superstructure and it is absolutely death to DD's and most CA's. I regularly hit DD's that get spotted out to near max range. If i just had one more smoke charge i would even be more effective.
The Prinz Eitel Friedrich is my number1 favorite Premium Ship. Followed by warspite, Atlanta, Molotow, Graf Spee and Murmansk. I Play her as a Brawler and never had Problems with the armor thanks to the great firing angles and the turtleback. I use it as a Sealclubber for Tier 6 and my favorite Victim is the Ismail. The Ismail is a Floating Citadell who Needs to give broadside to shoot more than one turrret. If the Ismail is not running away i will push up and simply kill it. No wonder that the PEF is the thirrd best BB at Tier 6 after Arizona and West Virginia when you lock at the EU-Stats.
Love your content FLamu, I agree with your picks I think I got most the ones on your list free, sold the huanghe, it was weak at best, the Blyskawica, is weak, but I enjoy playing it occasionally, the Prince E.Friedrich, I feel its speed helps to make it work, the others I appreciate your avoid info, good tips from someone who has them all I guess.
The only two I firmly disagree with are hood and vanguard, theyre hard to play yes, and they have their weaknesses, but i'd say both are still thouroughly viable. I'm a teaboo though and might be biased
has to be said flamu, i disagree about the Vangaurd its an amazing ship for me very capable but yes frustrating - i have some really nice replays that show it's strengths when positioned properly and used properly i will send them over if u like might change you're opinion :)
My first Azuma round was a 233k damage round, while kiting away from 6-7 players(if you include the cv as well), while only having the support of my friend in an Iowa(tanked 3mill before dying while we were kiting). Azuma has good damage potential through it's fire chance and 10k+ HE volleys, wouldn't want to play it at any range other than max range though.
Just handle the Vanguard as a battlecruiser, not as a BB and you will be fine. Her rudder is 7.8sec sec which beats a bunch of cruisers so you can dodge shells all day long. So, although the firing angle is bad, the rudder allows you to show hide your broadside immediately after you fire so, enemy has no chance to shoot your broadside before you hide it. Don't brawl with enemy BBs. The cool down of the repair party is 57 sec instead of 80 sec for normal BBs. Gun accuracy is great. Same with the Hood. Don't handle it as a BB but as a battlecruiser that she was in real life. Top notch speed for a T7 BB when a Colorado can only do 20 knotts allows you to flank your target. Decent accuracy for a T7 "BB".
Neustra's survivability (heal+very good concealment you missed) shouldn't be underestimated. the only thing against it is that it looks more expensive than other steel ships. Azuma's only weakness is that it is not overpowered compared to its tech tree pair. it is not a bad ship, only if someone is used to premium=OP.
Wowsnumbers has the neustra as the highest winrate and 2nd highest damage dd at T9 for NA. It's amazing how many people dismiss it just because they only think about dpm!
@@gm81381 that might have a selection bias though, because only the better players acquired it. still not a bad ship at all, and for a DD specialist it may even worth the higher price.
The only way to fix Huang He would be to do a division with 3 of them. The result is quite spicy, though it’s probable that a triple Perth division is still strictly better.
I actually like my Duca. Agree that AP is poop and it's fairly squishy, but it's a solid Tier6. Speed, Torps and maneuverability are better than many at that Tier. Plus it's very cheap when on offer. I regret buying a Texas though, so slow.
I don't totally agree with Gascogne. With a decent spec'd skipper, it is a very good boat. It can turn better than a lot of t8 battleships and has decently high fire chance for HE (which can be enhanced further). It also has a decent range and not so terrible turret traverse (combined with decent turning rate) which allows you to pivot and maneuver and put turrets on target without being broadside. One of my best t8 games has been in Gascogne. YMMV
Have to disagree with your assessment of the Priz Eitle Freidrick. As a COOP and MOTW only player, its one of the best in the game for this purpose. My clan mates and I were talking about your review and all agree (while we were using PEF in Raptor Rescue this morning) that you are completely wrong. I cannot recall being citadeled at all in this ship. It has secondaries that go out to 7.6km with a full build and flags, you can stick any german 19point secondary capt in it and easily farm XP in MOTW including free xp. Lastly, it is a fast BB/Battlecruiser and as such, with a speed flag can be used to keep way ahead of the majory of other too slow T6 BBs incluidng all U.S BBs, the Bayern etc. To all those reading this, I think it and the Normandy are the two best T6 BBs in the game for COOP and MOTW, especially MOTW.
I like how HMS _Vanguard,_ the last battleship ever built by any nation in all of history, was a pretty solid, well designed ship in real life but is utter trash in World of Warships. It really exemplifies what it's like to actually play the game. Real ships that had realistic design expectations, went through the full design process, had all the kinks worked out, all the issues found and resolved, and were actually built are completely outmatched by paper (often Russian for some reason) designs that were never built but who's politically mandated paper requirements, requirements that never worked out in practice when such ships were actually built, are taken at face value.
Did you forgot about Roma or is it not as bad as people say? Because i'm about to buy it (purely on accounts of how cool it looks) and i'm rather worried about its performance.
