"that bus looks like its trying to audition for top gear"......."rip top gear". what a legend Matt. a legend indeed. your also a pretty good pilot. 😆😆 nice video Matt
Another good video, Matt, and thanks for uploading. Nice to see someone else 'suffering' this Florida weather ;-) Living right by Tampa, a lot of my sim-flying tends to be around Florida and the SE of the USA and in summer this kind of weather is almost a daily occurrence. The last two videos you've done have been my original stomping ground for 50-odd years of North-West UK and now my current residence of the last 9 years, Florida ... it's been almost like having a personal request service. You asked on the video about VatSim and other planes - just for the record, my personal view is that VatSim and other traffic enhances the immersion factor of your flights immeasurably - so a big 'Yes' for that. Thanks again.
Haven't even finished watching this and it's already one of my favorites of yours. You flew out of my home country to my other home in the States. Very nice. Keep it up Matt.
That was a really fun video, probably one of the best so far in my humble opinion. The weather was fantastic and a beautiful landing Matt. It's definitely a yes to VATSIM from me. Thanks for another great flight
Thanks Matt really good flight. And a very well controlled landing. Pretty much perfectly centered on main wheel touchdown. Really good. Thank you so much for your videos. And we're spoilt a great video yesterday with squirrel and now a great video today can things get any better haha. Thanks again
Lewis Saunders You may know this, but just in case - a flight sim PC is a very different beast to a gaming PC! Massive topic so won't go into detail, but a few guys fall into the trap of building a beast of a rig that will max out Arma 3, Far Cry 4 etc, then suddenly get to flight sims and cry when they see the frame rate :)
Lewis Saunders It is a massive topic, and depends on the sim you are running, but the core feature of all the sims, if you plan in running a lot of scenery and complex aircraft, is the most CPU power you can get. 4GHz is good, if its overclockable thats even better. No matter what you get you will eventually hit a ceiling, even people with 4.9GHz 4790K's and Titan X's will try to run a PMDG with full ORBX region scenery, active sky next, REX and a FlyTampa airport and see chugging on the runway :) Of course the opposite is also true - you can get away with less power and modest settings / addons and be fine.
Lewis Saunders What I would add is that it depends on the sim you are trying to run and the add ons you wish to run. For example, X-Plane 10 runs 64 bit but more importantly makes full use of a good GPU. FSX is massively CPU dependant. To a lesser extent, the GPU still affects it, but it is 32 bit meaning it has less memory available to it (4Mb)even if you have huge amounts on your system. P3D is better than FSX for utilising graphics cards, but ultimately is still 32 bit with the associated limitations. There are numerous web pages which will baffle you with the tech (and I would stress I am not skilled in the tech area) so your best bet is to put some posts on some reputable forums or to look at particular web pages such as Kostas who is very knowledgeable on this subject. I bought the best cpu I could afford (only an i5 4690k with 4 cores) but a cheap GPU ( Nvidia GTX750ti) and I am happy with the result in FSX. In term of future upgrades it will be an i7 because it will help the overall system (the GPU will then be the bottleneck). I would re-iterate Mirandorl's comments about considering the best CPU you can afford if your only objective is FSX/P3D.
Great flight ! But as a south florida resident and pilot i can assure you that that weather is spot on for the summer. Also the Lufthansa A380 goes to Miami from Frankfurt.
Thanks Matt. That was thoroughly entertaining. Great flying in difficult weather. More of these videos please, with VATSIM ATC - really adds to the immersion :-)
✈️ Great video Matt. An obscure location with insane weather, would appreciate a few more like that. Good to see you flying with mates as well and nice landing by the way, looked a tricky one. Thx.
Great video man. High quality as usual. You can use the App on the MCP when cleared approach. Then you both arm the GP and LOC. Not a big deal, but one less button to click when flying an ILS :)
I like the vatsim and I like traffic! They make it much more realistic than clear skies in some of the busiest airports in the world, and the weather, beautiful as well, very nice landing for such nasty weather
Well handled Matt in that weather!!! definitely more of this sort of vid with interesting weather, the ATC and other aircraft..Great vid keep em coming.
I most definitely love seeing more planes! Makes it look more realistic. Nice landing given the weather although I'm sure the cleaning crew will have their hands full as I'm sure lots of passengers got sick :)
Hi Matt! Please try and get some more VATSIM ATC in your videos, I think it adds to it, however I know it's not always easy to get ATC on VATSIM Also, brilliant landing in that awful weather, really was 1st class :)
Since you said you liked flying in Alaska, thought I'd propose a route: PANC-PADU, Anchorage to Dutch Harbor. Used to be operated by Alaska in a 737-200, then I believe it went to a 737-400, now Penn air in a Saab I think. Scenery for PADU: secure.simmarket.com/aerosoft-online-dutch-harbor-x.phtml . It is a really nice and very challenging approach, but it'd look awesome in some sort of 737 if you can make it!
As you said, what insane weather at Miami. Great approach and landing. Can you please advise where you got the background music that was used during the climb to cruise out of Kingston, thanks.
Where did you get that aircraft from? I would love a SW version of the aircraft for x-plane. Also do you prefer prepar3D over x-plane? Not sure if I asked you that question or not.
Hi Matt, nice video again... Thanks for sharing them with us. Quick question for you... What traffic do you use for flying online? They look great. Cheers!
matt my Vpiltot isnt working properly. i havent been able to chech the IVAo becuase its gone from the list so what elso can i check. when i check all of the others, and join vatsim, i just get beep beeep beep with aircraft mod[els not being able to be asigned
Matt, do you prefer to fly the NGX or the Aerosoft A320 series? I like the latter because it's the only complex I fly so I'm used to it. The FBW is a plus, too.
I love the videos!! Question about restrictions though.. mainly from flying out of Miami (Hedley2 departure)... how do you clear the restrictions on the PMDG? I couldn't figure out how to clear out the speed and height restrictions and was only able to remove them by toggling the vnav and lnav off and back on. Beautiful videos though!
