Do you know how inspiring you are? Every time I finish a job that I did not think I could do, I have you to thank. I don't own a chateau in France, but I did just recently buy a 1940s fixer-upper in California and whenever I feel discouraged and overwhelmed, I think "Well, if Dan can do it, so can I!" Today, I installed a carpet for the first time ever and I kept reminding myself that you have never build a mansard roof before but you did it anyways, so why should I not be able to install a carpet? Watching your videos gives me the courage to do things I never thought I could do. Thank you Dan! You are my hero!

“A few beams short of a floor” sounds so like “a few bob short of a pound” or “a few cards short of a deck”. I had a chuckle. It is really satisfying to now see the landscaping that you took time out to do last year is looking so good. The progress outside is revolutionising the chateau as much as the building work. A wise decision.

I think a lot of people thought you were...."a few beams short of a floor" when you took the project on but just look at the progress 👍

You should do episodes just on the tools that you use. My father did construction for 60 years and I worked alongside him for a few years and I have never seen some of the tools that you use.

getting the small things sorted is key to build for the bigger picture plantation looking great around the tree round about.

You can put in those stakes using the bucket on the front end loader to tamp on place. Easier on the arms.

I am very impressed by how the new tools have increased your productivity. Will make the next roofing project much, much faster. Still very fun to watch.

Why don't you plan for a spacious lift (elevator) as well as stairs in the completed Château. That way you will always have the void which you can use to haul materials up even before there is a fixed lift
