Is it wrong that I watch these over again and recommend to family and watch again with them? I used to think my old rusted ashtrap in my 1923 home was daunting. Then I watched one of these vids....I was like: "pffft...that guy in France is putting in girders and floors with the other guy...I can do this.....right? " , (I asked my cat..he had no words)...anyway, the ashtrap is gone - wall is bricked up and sealed and painted. This project had been haunting me for 8 years. I am going to plan and execute repointing my original steps with lime-rich morter. Because of this channel. Dan and Nick change lives. ❤
Someone else may have already suggested this - but the mysterious vents up the side might be a fresh air supply for the fireplaces and chimneys to work properly. Just a thought.
I still, for the life of me, can’t figure out what on earth possessed you to take on such a MASSIVE, nearly IMPOSSIBLE, restoration! It’s mind boggling!
I started watching your channel one month ago and I have caught up from VLOG 1 to this point. Incredible vision and stamina Dan! Great to replace my television watching with such a positive experience. Phil - Tasmania
Those tiles are just gorgeous, but of course you must be planning how to protect them from more building work....I love finding a new project started..its just amazing.. sorry about the car ..❤
passive heat is a must but specifically as you widen or install maintenance path ways investigate the merits of mechanical concrete...these path ways and work ways are the life blood of maintaining gardens and grow beds the rubber tires are free and filling them with rubble allows water filtration systems to cisterns as an integral part of site stability theyare cheap and exceptionally reliable! so as the estate is easily accessible by gator or golf carts the food forest can thrive and ponds fountains and pools are easilly fitered by remore fountains and irrigation becomes a viable choice! it is at this stage the ruble can be easily re-tasked
How is it you can do , have the talent to do anything from gardening to rebuilding a house and NOW a derelict chateau. How do you know what has to be built first? Are you also a carpenter…? Or just a practical man, that can tackle anything. Cheers to you…ps, what are your dogs called?🇨🇦
Hi guys I would like some comments about what would you be putting in as in lights !!! And would you be putting up chandeliers or more modern looks ( maybe panels in etc to have it powered by sun etc when the roof goes up
The little green bottle is an Italian cologne by Pino Silvestre. It is shaped like a like a pine cone. The one you found has a green cap. The older ones had a brown cap. I remember my father wearing it and he is in his 80’s now. Clearly a cologne used by European men. The cologne is still available as we have bought it for our father for Christmas or his birthday. It’s about $40.00. You should try to find it and wear it as paying homage to the previous owners. It has a very masculine woodsy-like scent which would suit you well. I hope this information helps. Good luck to you!
Hey Dan, I noticed in a passing glimpse that the Chateau had wonderful chimney pots in it's earlier life. I hope it's a detail not to be overlooked when the chimneys are done. Mark & Scott
