Also have a look at masking tape it's not as sticky u could stick over the dry paint and not worry about chipping when pulling it off. The stuff u are using seems to incredible sticky. Looks lovely thou :)
Hey guys, I know this video is old, but hope you check your notifications. I'm a fine-art painter, and airbrush is my medium of choice. In fact I got my BA in Art Studio Airbrushing, am a continuing grad student, and the only airbrush artist I know circulating in galleries. Anyways, let's just say I can paint, I got back into the RC Hobby after years of bouncing in, and out. I started when I was 10 (40 now) with a gold pan RC10, got out of it, back in for a hot minute with a nitro Savage XL (back in 2007, before electric was what it is), and just got back in with a Revo 2.0. Thanks a bunch. We normally just take a can or two and make a quick one :) mostly because bodies do not last long enough during hardcore race or bashing, plus when artwork is really good I always feel bad when I hit things. Have a look at graffiti cans there about the same price bigger cans and much better quality. U can also get wide spray cans so u can cover more faster u would probably do that truck in about two passes
Regular paint will chip off unless it is for a polycarbonate body. Lexan body paint has a special penetrating agent, it basically merges with the body surface.
You guys know how to paint. I need to paint one of those. Proline has the preprinted Raptor body and I notice they paint the bed and other trim parts on the outside.
Painting is never easy...but the more you do it, the less mistakes you're making...but when in a hurry I always do something wrong, although I'm painting bodies for over 15 years now.
Great video, guys. I’m preparing to paint a body metallic blue using Tamiya PS-16 metallic blue paint. I have used Pactra blue before and it’s a medium blue when I used silver to back it up. I’m going for the newer cars dark metallic blue this time. How can I achieve this effect, Black back up? Thanks so much, Ron
Its tricky with dark colors, as they still got to be backed with white or silver. You need to try on any random piece of lean first, to see if it appears how you'd like. First apply blue, then black and then white/silver.
RC Street Shop Thanks for the advice. After my comment/question I thought about using some of the Lexan material from the body for testing different color combos. I was planning on silver rally stripes, so that complicates the procedure some, but I’m sure it will work out, more less! Thanks again my friend, Ron
