Great way to sharpen a rectangular scraper. How do you sharpen a curved scraper?

Nice one. Don't know if this is considered acceptable but like many woodworkers/carpenters/joiners, I collect a fair number of old wood saws, too cheap to sharpen, wasteful to throw away. All (most) saws have a completely straight back and are a stiff springy steel. Old saw + angle grinder = infinite number of cabinet scrapers and they can be shaped to suit any need, for mouldings, base boards, long, short, pointy whatever. Reduce, reuse, recycle.

Does the heat from cutting it affect the temper?

@@RDAUGIRD hi. Not that I've noticed. If it did, then it's only at the edges. You're only using the burr that you rub up and the great thing with this is that you can make a scraper in almost any shape for mouldings etc.
