So glad this was helpful! One thing I did not mention is the importance of strengthening your core and back as much as possible prior to the surgery. This will speed up your recovery, you can do exercises like Pilates or yoga. Wishing you the best, but I know all will go well !

@@stacyburrell13…hey sis… just had my hysterectomy Friday. I swear I feel like nothing was done. Quick question… did you have a gush like weeks after the surgery? Like a gush of blood. My dr told me to look out for it.
@@stacyburrell13 yes it did i took my notes and told the team they had everything ready. during the surgery they kind of nicked my bladder but reparied it i have to wear folley until tomorrow and my right buttock hurts more than ,y vaginal area ..thanks so much for your tips
Thanks for the video! Mine is scheduled for this summer. My surgeon discovered adenomyosis when she went in for prolapse repair last summer. Now that I know more about what's going on and have had time to heal and process, I'm ready for a hysterectomy. (Or as ready as I'm going to be!) 🙏

Getting ready for my total hysterectomy next month. This is my second surgery, had my ovary and a large endometrial mass removed in 2021. I'm nervous but have faith that God has got this. Your video has been very helpful. I'm actually concerned about coming home right after surgery, how was that for you? Thank you for posting your journey!
Sending you positive energy for your upcoming surgery my friend! I'm sure all will go well. I felt nervous before my surgery also. Coming home was a good transition because I had everything that I needed set up and I stayed downstairs. Be sure to purchase all of your heavy items like water, detergent, and any other groceries before hand. Also vacuum and do your chores or have someone else do those things for you because you don't want to list or push anyting after your surgery. Other than that all went well I just stayed on the pain medication as prescribed and then eventually switched to ibuprofen after a couple of days. Be sure to take a laxative or if you like homeopathic, drink prune juice daily after your surgery so that you don't get constipated.

Thank you for this informative video. My hysterectomy is in a few days. I got my box ready with my common needs that will be close to me after my surgery. I was told I have a lot of adhesions from my previous csections and cerclage to close my cervix during pregnancy. K am scheduled for a laproscopic but ot may turn into an abdominal, won't know til surgery I guess. Either way I will have a hospital bag ready. Thank you for the video.

Thank you so much for your videos! I will be getting this surgery in a few months except I will be having my ovaries removed too. I just had a bilateral mastectomy three weeks ago. I was nervous about the small things too like the catheter. Luckily they put it in and took it out before I woke up from anesthesia. I was wondering if they did that for you with this surgery?
