Hey, that’s good to know. I’m gonna go look at them and test ride one when I finish this trip. It’s just that it’ll be totally useless in Bangkok. One thing I’m actually toying with is just renting one when I need it. I’m gonna look at the math and see if it makes sense to do that versus buying.

Be safe on your trip, Serg. Don't drive at night believe me. Those 10 wheelers are hardwoking people they're prone to doze off and run over some motorcycle this' no joke. Your heat tolerance is impressive, Serg. Now I believe that Russians have great tolerance for both extreme cold and heat! The weather gets hotter each year it got average 10 degrees rise from the last 4 decades. I got to hide from heat in air-con room all the time myself. Kudos to you who can ignore the excessive temperature. Don't forget to keep yourself hydrated either.
@LifewithSerg
@LifewithSerg Месяц назад
Haven’t been born in Russia I am definitely much more accustomed to the cold weather. I don’t do well in hot environments, but believe it or not when I’m writing I’m OK. Even on the hottest days, because I wear full gear, it keeps my skin protected, so I don’t get sunburned and heat exhaustion. I absolutely do not write at night in this country. Unfortunately, the drivers in Thailand are some of the worst I’ve ever seen anywhere in the world. So I typically avoid nighttime. This should be a really fun adventure. I feel will be filled with quite a few challenges because of the rainy season, and I’m looking forward to working my way through it.

@@LifewithSerg you would have more to compare it to, but perhaps it didn't fit your ideal Pad Kra Pow criteria 🤔😄. I had the beef Pad Kra Pow, then I tried the pork belly a few days later. I was really impressed with the fried egg which was perfectly done on the PKP, and then that deep fried pork belly was like candy it tasted so good. It was my first solo trip, first trip outside North America, so it was a lot to take everything in. Like I also mentioned the Carlton was really nice too. It has a huge 35 meter outdoor pool on the 10 floor. Also a funny thing I like to mention is the toilet was a really fancy toilet with buttons and speakers - could get the full car wash by pressing the buttons on the side😂 I had so much fun I'm planning to come back in February 2025. In Bangkok I was going to stay in Riverside area - looking at the Riva Arun Hotel this time.

Good to see you enjoying two wheels in Bangkok. I plan to move there later this year sadly leaving the RT1250 behind and will most likely get myself an ADV 350. I will be interested to see if you decide to get into a 500 they're a great bike but I imagine the filtering will be more difficult. Look forward to your next video.
@LifewithSerg
@LifewithSerg Месяц назад
One of the main reasons I didn’t buy the ADV 350 is that it’s just a fat bike. Living in Bangkok it would be much more difficult to use with all the crazy traffic. There are so many options for bikes here, I’m sure you’ll find something you enjoy. I probably won’t buy another bike until the end of the year or early next year. They typically have really good deals at the large motor shows, so I might wait for that.

Serge: Looking forward to the upcoming trip vlog. I’m considering having a saleang (scooter with multi passenger sidecar) built as a conveyance/mini pickup for local travel, despite the fact that they are technically illegal in Thailand; the Thai LEOs will probably pull a farang over while definitely ignoring Thais.
@LifewithSerg
@LifewithSerg Месяц назад
I think you getting pulled over on a regular basis would be a near 100% chance. The problem is, people will think you’re taking jobs from other ties, which is illegal here. Hi Serg! Glad to hear you are adventuring north. I'm in Chum Phae and if you need to stay there the best hotel is the Cheewin. The other options are not great. There is a Lotuss on the #201 road south, and a Makro on the #12 road going west. The (8) Caladonia Bar and Restaurant on Walking Street is very welcoming, and every Friday the street is transformed into a market. Just be careful of the rain! Of course 7-Eleven are everywhere. For attractions, east of Phitsanulok is (1) Sappraiwan Elephant Resort, then (2) Wat Phra That Pha Sorn Kaew said to be one of the most beautiful temples in Thailand. At (3) Phu Pha Man, in the evenings at a distance you can see the vampire bats emerge from their cave to feed. To the north is (4) Phu Wiang Dinosaur Museum, but there are no Velociraptors :( In that area are a number of other temples and some waterfalls, but I haven't ventured that far myself. A great place to stop for some food is (5) The Food Garden which has a sign with a prawn on it. There's not a lot to the south of interest. Going further east at Khon Kaen is the (6) Phra Mahathat Kaen Nakhon temple with 9 levels to climb. And for some food (7) the Aura Cafe is great. If I can help more please let me know. Some of those bikes are just a little too big to ride around in Bangkok and they’re quite powerful. Once you get out of the big cities, medical services are very sparse. Well at least quality medical services. The last thing I want is to have an accident on some back road. So I prefer to have a smaller slower bike. I should be leaving on my trip in 2 to 3 weeks, I still have a lot of planning to do

I went to the Paddock Pro shop a few years ago it cost me a fortune by the time I got out of there! Komine jackett and pants x2 , and pair of adventure boots, it was funny as there wasn't a fitting room to try things on so there I was standing in the middle of the shop in my jocks (underpants) trying on pants etc nobody cared lol can't wait to move to Thailand and buy a bike and start adventuring but I won't be riding around Bangkok unless I don't have any othere choice! Would love to do the trip your planning. 🙏🏍

@LifewithSerg
@LifewithSerg Месяц назад
I simply did not have the space to carry it back. The difference in cost would not have outweigh the inconvenience. You could easily buy a full face helmet here with a shield for under $100. The one that I’ve worn in all my prior videos was only about $80. I didn’t want to buy a cheap helmet again, and that’s why I chose the Italian made Caberg. They’re actually the inventors of the modular helmet, so I felt, much happier buying from them
