I absolutely adore the mermaid theme you're going for with your solo show! :D Since narwhals live in colder climates, maybe you could have the narwhal inspired mermaid resting on an ice floe? You're really capturing the aesthetic and feel of the ocean in your paintings, and I look forward to seeing the finished pieces. :)

I’ve actually always found it harder to paint at a smaller size. I actually prefer a 18x24 size. I love your concepts. Especially the one with the mermaid hugging her tale. The background is my favorite part I can’t wait to see it finished. You always have such great backgrounds and concepts!
Always love your videos! For that narwhal piece, I personally think it would be adorable if you had two little simple narwhals playing with each other in the background!
I have a cool idea! Paint a mermaid with little mini mermaids swimming all around her. Have the little mermaids kinds fairy-like and glowing and have that glowing color reflecting off the main mermaid. I think this would be super neat.

Hi Happy, it's been a couple of years that I follow you, I think you've grown a lot during this years, and your art it's more and more inspiring!! I really like this new theme for your solo show, the idea of the black and white mermaid with the red rose it's something new, also the "albino" mermaid is something different, I really like them, and paying omage to the "detached body" of last year it's good, because you're going to have a "fil rouge" that connects this showwith the other one. Also, while watching your sketches, I've come with some suggestions (just some ideas, that maybe could help you): -for the "narwal mermaid", maybe you could let her lay on the beach, half in the water and half not -for the backgrownds of other painting, I just tought that maybe you can change from sea to lake or pond. Hi Happy many apologies for not commenting on this video sooner it's been so hectic with my hubby in hospital and now hospice care this is the first chance I have been able to get on RU-vid. I have received the gift and it really is a wonderful set. I haven't used it yet but I can't wait until I get the chance to try it all out. I’m loving the mermaid theme 🧜🏻♀️🎨😊 also, this is good timing, I’ve recently been in the market for wood canvas and possibly brush replacements that can do fine lines with oil and not fluff out quickly. Thanks for the tip about the oil ground gesso and brand recc, here’s some info in return-I’ve read it’s a good idea to prime both sides of a canvas bc wood shrinks over time. Happy trails 👍🏻🌱 Edit: for anyone wondering, I’m guessing the specific brushes Happy is using from Trekell are the synthetic hair Spectrum line on their website

I love this video! Thanks for posting! :) I only just received my first commission based project and I am so excited and a bit nervous too! I seem to doubt my abilities as I only copy other drawings from Pinterest just images I like :) I do want to improve thats why I am doing a 30 day drawing challenge this month :) what do you recommend to move ahead from copying other drawings? I dont know if its just me but seeing the lines especially on animal drawings feel a lot easier to copy then a picture of a animal. What are your thoughts on this?
To make work more fun you should live stream you working on your solo peices! No talking or commentary. Just music :) that way you can paint and enjoy knowing your fans r watching and during breaks or cleaning a brush you can skim comments :)
