Your right I have 2 generators 5000 and 8000 Generac I do need a smaller one you have a nice setup.

Excellent point Tom! The time to test your preps is when it’s warm and dry, not when it’s dark and storming.

On that TB8000 battery charger, it's supposed to be a "smart" charger. It's actually dumber than a box of rocks like most other "smart" charger. It needs to temporarily see some voltage (at least 8.5v for a 12v battery) so that it recognizes that a rechargeable battery is connected. If ou have another battery (a booster battery if you will), temporarily connect it in parallel to the dead battery and the charger. When the charger starts to charge, disconnect the booster battery. At least that's what another YTber did and it worked for him. I haven't needed to try it yet.

I agree the '1000 Watt' generator seems to be underrated - it is closer in design to a 3000 watt generator I run. I also use an even smaller generator in the 900 Watt range (actual) to run for battery charging. It takes time to charge batteries, and there is no sense in having a generator running at far less than half-load for hours to do that. It is the backup to solar panels to get everything topped off after a string of cloudy days. The first was a $90 harbor freight 2-stroke and required the oil-fuel mix. I have upgraded from that to a propane-only generator. I like propane because the fuel stores forever, and burns cleaner in the carburetor/engine. It does not provide the best power efficiency, though - always trade-offs. thanks for the video! Re: stroke - have you looked into the ketogenic diet for heart/vascular health?
