Preparing for Spring in our Bulgarian Village 

We are preparing for spring in our Bulgarian village. 
It’s almost spring and the land is coming to life again after it’s winter sleep. The fields surrounding our home are filled with bright yellow crocuses that dance in the breeze like Wordsworth’s daffodils. There is still a nip in the air though the days are getting warmer. Our garden too is coming back to life. And once again, it’s time to trim our grapevines and to prune the fruit trees. From the grapevine trimmings I like to make wreaths and other items.
The house is more or less finished, but there are a couple of projects that I would like completed before we begin on the larger task of the outdoor room. So today we will be putting up some shelves in our French country style kitchen. Our home is very reminiscent of a country cottage,. There are uneven stone walls, beamed ceilings and deep windowsills. I have tried to decorate it accordingly.
