I feel you on this. From the gender reveal to baby showers, I don’t know why ppl overdo it and I’m sure not everyone can afford 500$ in balloon decor alone. I’m one of those. I’d rather spend those on the baby.

I’m a first time mom due in October and I have been so overwhelmed looking at all the different videos of essentials and nursery tours and feeling like I’m not as good of a mom if I don’t have all that other expensive stuff. But this helped me so much with perspective, my baby just wants to be loved and cared for. He won’t notice if he has all this other crap 🥺❤️

Kelly Kawaguchi congratulations I’m a first time mum as well I’m due in dec. I been doing a lot of research on the absolute necessary‘s and I’ve also found out there’s a lot of them that you could just use as a DIY that’s super cheap and you’re getting the same kind of results I’m not gonna lie. Lol. Plus with Covid in people are at work never really know so it’s a very smart idea I think desert looking around on what is absolutely necessary what’s not necessary you don’t always have to have the big bucks items. I found a lot of my big items on Facebook marketplace for dirt dirt cheap

From a concerned Mom, I wouldn't buy a carseat used. The one reason is, if it has been in an auto accident it's considered damaged by NHTSA. Not eveyone will be honest about everything. I know about the NHTSA laws because my husband and I were rear ended by someone doing 40mph. We had to replace my daughter's booster seat because of this. The other guy's insurance paid for the replacement.

A lot of good advice here especially with getting certain baby stuff used and being more minimalist, but the dock-a-tot and snuggle me pillows are NOT made for sleeping. They are a SIDS/suffocation risk! They are even banned in certain countries like Canada.

@joannapetkau9555
@joannapetkau9555 4 года назад
@@keanuk6171 If baby turns (and cant roll themselves back over) and face ends up on the side, its a suffocation risk. Could you imagine trying to sleep/breathe for more than 30 seconds with your face smashed into a pillow? And with less developed lungs? Yes, we don't know much about the why behind SIDS, but this clearly poses a risk. Same reason you don't have blankets or stuffed animals where baby sleeps until they're able to roll over/move/push something out of the way consistently. And just because kids have been fine when using products, it doesn't mean they're actually safe. You can drive around in a vehicle never wearing a seatbelt and still be perfectly happy and healthy, but in the instant you find yourself in a predicament, you realize its an unsafe practice because of what CAN happen. "Know better, do better." Just because parents used to have their kids in cars without carseats, seat belts, in the front seat with airbags, etc. does NOT mean we should continue to do it. We know better now. If something doesn't happen even though its a possibility and it 'proves your point', that is called confirmation bias.

This is definitely a rant but lord her age has nothing to do with the post, ironically it’s the one thing some people probably choose to pay attention too from her comment🤣Being a young mother/parents now days is nearly the norm and doesn’t have to define you. For some it’s a ‘mistake’ and for other it’s an intentional choice either way it’s okay. My husband and I (my high school sweet heart) got pregnant with our 1st daughter during the middle of our senior year. We still graduated and both managed to have full time jobs. Shortly after our daughter was born we got married, moved away from most of our family for a better job opportunity, and built a 1bed 1 bath studio by hand attached to a family members house. Less then two years later we found out we were expecting our 2nd we then purchased and paid off our first real home(not the best place or area but atleat it was a real home) all before the age 21. Now another 2 years later we are expecting our 3rd, in the process of purchasing a brand new home and land, we own both of our cars, and have 0 debt. We both have 6 figure careers, and own an upcoming dream business. We did it all without help and we are ironically the most successful from both of our families. All of these accomplishments before the age of 24. I’d admit not everyone is as lucky or choose to make the right decisions for their families, but not every teen parent is a disappointment. It certainly time people start to recognize being a real parent has no defining age as long as your take care of what you created! Some are fortunate enough to produce a lavish life for their family others have may have no choice other then the economic route, either way it’s okay, because atleat they are taking care of theirs! Many late 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s ect can’t provide a stable household and yet they don’t receive as much shit as a teen/young parent.

Snuggle me is not safe for unsupervised sleeping. Its safe for baby to nap in when supervised not for overnight sleeping it has warnings of this when purchasing online. These warnings should be taken seriously as death is a possible outcome. Not trying to undermine anyone it just scares me to see people buying snuggle me/dockatot instead of bassinets for their babies. Both come with a warning that it is only safe for supervised sleep

Tylenol & Motrin, my vitamins so I remember to take them & some powder drinks that have caffeine in them. Nursing pads & breastmilk bags In my nightstand I have clothes, extra swaddles and burp cloths and 2 baby blankets. Only thing I really need is a little trash can for the diapers. I purged most of my baby stuff about 8 years ago, as I thought I was done having kids. Then, I lost the rest of what I'd saved in a messy divorce 5.5 years ago, so I'm literally starting ALL over again with this baby (I remarried almost 3 years ago)! I just found you. You touched my heart ❤️. I love your energy. I am a mom of 5!!! I had 3 girls first and was super happy and 10 years later I desired a baby boy and tho h really hard ... how much does this mean to me... how important is it.... come to find out I was really serious and the baby fever didn’t go away. I decided to remove my IUD and giving it a shot. Hoping and praying the Lord would send me a Son. God granted me that prayer and here came my son Jonas. 6 months later I realized my girls were 15 to 11 years apart from my newborn.... I decided to put it in Gods hands and wanted one more boy. 9 months later I have my last son 💖💖💖💙💙 I am complete. it is so hard to go into labor I labored long hours and I’m allergic to epidural. The reason why I’m sharing this is because I would like to let you know I will be praying for your labor and recovery to go well may you & baby be well. Having a baby is a huge blessing and such an exciting moment. I enjoy being a mom and I admire how creative your meal budgeting is, there how I found you lol I could use your tips. You have a new subscriber. Glad I found 💖 keep us posted. Bye I’m in Midland Texas so hope you do a meet and greet one day !!!!!

2 mins into this video I already adore you! Buy used! This is my second baby, but they are 15 years apart. I swore if I ever had another baby I was not getting everything new... it can be a waste... you end up spending more when they are older so save while you can.

Can I just say I love this video soooo much! This is so realistic. I’m on baby #2 almost five years later. So I’ve been watching these kinds of videos because there’s so many new and different brands and products to try. I totally understand if you got it why not spend it how you choose but some of the videos can be disheartening because they will include such expensive must haves that I do not have the budget for haha! Like 200$ bouncers, and the Snoo bassinets. Even the 4 moms brand is way out of my budget lol clearly I know I don’t need these things or I can find cheaper substitutes I’m just appreciating your more realistic approach here. 🥰

Something I thought of when I have a baby one day is imma buy 1 pack of preemie diapers and 1 or 2 preemie outfits on clearance cause you never know. I've had quite a few people come into Walmart and ask where preemie stuff is cause they have a grandchild born early.

Thank you for this video! I am due in 10 weeks with my first baby and feeling a bit overwhelmed with what I was thinking I needed. Also a little breastfeeding advice is needed, no classes or anything is being offered due to this whole world conundrum going on so this was great a out my nesting at ease a bit!

for breastfeeding I would read some books and really try to educate yourself on it. learn about it yourself and it will help you feel confident!

This is actually the best newborn essentials video i've seen! I didn't think I needed all that other stuff. I've been freaking out as most of my family live in another country so its been kind of tricky - my friends all have soooo much stuff for their kids and i'm always thinking its not really all that necessary.

My first child I got lucky and received EVERYTHING second hand. Only thing was something I received from a church member, she gave me a carseat. When she saw me using it at church she pretty much wailed and screamed in agony.. little did I know, it belonged to her deceased son (non carseat related reason). I felt terrible, she ended up apologizing for scaring me (there was no need, she had every right to feel that way) but I felt bad, although it was all I had so I used it. She liked that I put everything to good use. Very sweet woman. Anyway, that's my story.

Great video! I’m due in November with our first and I’m starting to think/buy stuff. I’m trying to be smart and realistic about what we need especially as we live in a small space and I kept thinking that I need a cot, when in actual fact a pack n play with the changer will do that job! Thanks for saving me ££££!
