Easily the trees, especially when you get those Live Oak overhangs over the road, like what you see a lot in Midtown

I am considering moving to Mobile. I retire in a year. I plan to sell my house here in Missouri. I hope it appreciated enough to pay cash for a small 2 bedroom townhouse or condo. I’d love to see what they look like to give me an idea

Thank you for the imformative video. Myy husband and i will be relocating to Mobile. We have traveled from Kentucky to independently try to find an area we can start off with until we get our bearings. We are wanting to start in an apartment in the West Mobile area. The major problem we are having is that we dont know what all is included in the West Mobile location. We intend to buy a home in a year but prefer to be in West Mobile to find our way. We visited a week ago and werent very successful. Can you offer any suggestions regarding our December move?

Mowing your yard 3 times a month? It’s more like twice a week to have a nice looking yard.

It may depend on the type of grass also.

I like that there are still 4 seasons in this area, even though winters are not frigid like northern states, but much better than the perpetually all-year hot weather we had in South Fla when we lived there 🥵!! Also, can you tell me if the beach traffic is better in Mobile/Eastern Shore than it is in Pensacola? (P’cola only has one highway that goes to the beach and it gets very clogged in summer.)
@livinginmobile
@livinginmobile Год назад
I think the traffic is less, considering there are multiple routes that many of the locals take to get to the beach. However, if you’re wanting to drive from Daphne to Pensacola, you would not even go through any type of beach traffic, so that would not be a concern.

Hmm, that "4 seasons" colloquialism can mean LOTS of different things, to different people. 🤔 Here in Northern Idaho .... well, ya can NEVER mix up one with one of the other three. In Mobile, I believe y'all have HOT Spring, HOTTER Summer, UNGODLY HOTTER late Summer to Fall, and THANK GOD THE HEAT FINALLY BROKE Winter. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I guess it's a ... um ... cultural thingy.
@AnnaS1371
@AnnaS1371 Год назад
@@scottb3188 Yes, so true that seasons can mean different things to different people, because many would say that in Idaho you have the COLD fall, then the UNGODLY cold winters, followed with the LESS COLD spring and ending with the THANK GOD the cold ended summer. So… to each his own 😝 😝 😝. To me, 4 seasons means that the temperatures change every season, which they do here. There is a distinct change in temps throughout the year. Just because the winters aren’t frigidly freezing 🥶 it doesn’t make it any less 4 seasons, like it would do in the tropics where it’s stifling hot 🥵 all year.

@@AnnaS1371 I grew up and spent most of my years, raised my family in Southern California (yes, we're political refugees in N. Idaho). Most Californians know the district seasons. I spent a semester in college living in a dorm, just for the experience (and to cut the commute, raise my grades, etc. etc.). One of my roommates was from Michigan, the state that incidentally, I was born in (left about age 5). He'd regularly complain about "this sunny Southern California with ONE season", which I thought was pretty humorous. For most Californians, when they meet someone who talks about California being a 1 season, 2 season, maybe even 3 season state, they can be pretty certain that they're a transplant from somewhere else, back 40 years ago, it would have been the East Coast. Just like the folks calling Mobile "MO-bile" or "MO-bel", Californians could tell who the imports were as well. 😏😏 I'm mostly pulling your leg. The weather (and season) differences between tropical South Florida and Alabama, can be pretty extreme. (And BOTH nearly kill any Californian who tries to fit in either place, lol. Since I've been to the Pacific in the Navy, I suppose I'm a bit more aclimated.) My sister and cousin moved to Opileka, both So Cal ladies, one coming from New Hampshire, the other from the Calfornia deserts. The latter one is adjusting a bit better. 🤣 I'll go with your "4-season" description, until I've spent more time around Mobile and Pensacola.

ha, well, if they would have BBQ sauce, I might agree with you, but without that, that is a deal breaker for me. I find it arrogant for them to assume everyone wants Canes sauce, lol
