A little about me:
My name is Minoo. I’m originally from Iran, and I live and work in the U.K.
I’m a qualified English teacher and teacher trainer, but that’s not what makes me good at my job.
I just love teaching! It makes me feel good when I can share something I’ve learned with others. That’s why I still love teaching English after 40 years of doing it!
English is such a vast and complicated language! My passion is to make it as easy as possible for others to learn. My students always praise my ‘clear explanations’ and 'structured method'.
I suppose I can explain things well because I’m not a native speaker. I’ve struggled with English pronunciation, grammar, and vocabulary myself. I’ve had to work out the rules and learn the exceptions, and I just love sharing my own discoveries with others like me who are learning English as a foreign language.
Thank you so much, everyone, for all the ‘likes’ and your lovely and supportive comments! I'm so grateful for your support!

Dear Minoo: I'm a teacher of English in Chile, and I am fascinated by this video! This is one of the biggest struggles my sutdents go through in lessons. I will probably be using this video as part of my classes, so thank you very much! But I have a couple of questions for you. 1. You mention that "at" is used for precise locations and events, why do we say "at the beach" then? It's not small nor precise and it's definitely not an event. 2. Then, you mention that we must use "in" for abstract locations and "on" for TV, radio, internet, websites, etc. (which I consider to be means of communication). Which preposition should I use for social media? They are abstract locations and means of communication. Is your video "in " RU-vid or "on" RU-vid? Where can I share my pictures? "In" Instagram or "on" Instagram? I hope you read my comment and I really appreciate your work. Thank you very much again!
@AngloLinkEnglish
@AngloLinkEnglish 8 лет назад
You're most welcome, Fabian. To answer your questions: 1. If you refer to the actual beach where the sand is, the preposition is 'on the beach'. 'At the beach' is used to refer to a location that allows 'beach activities'. It becomes a little bit like 'at school'. 2. For social media, you might see both prepositions used, but 'on' is the favourite: On RU-vid.

Thank you so much, teacher. I've watched all the videos related to using prepositions as I find them really challenging, and I should admit that they were so useful and easy to get. I'd just like to ask how can I differentiate between 'to' vs 'into' as I find it still unclear? What I understood by final destination is moving to a new country or city to live in, but I think that's not always the case since I saw other examples like drive to work. I'm really confused about this part if you don't mind clarifying that for me. Thank you again!

Thank you very much for those amazing courses. Your channel has become my best English channel so far. Some points weren't clear for me, I hope you explain them to me. For example, in 02:36 you've said: *When you refer to a place because of what happens at that place, you should use "at": And you gave the following example: -Today John is at work. *When you refer to a place as a pure location, you should use "in": And the example was: -There was a fire in the school. My question is: Isn't those two examples in controversy? I mean the first example is for the second tip and the second example for the first tip. I couldn't understand that part very well I think. THANKS IN ADVANCE PROFESSOR.

Good morning, i apologize if i have already asked you this question. If i say "" i wish i had never met you"" , if i answer "" me too" it is correct BUT if i want to use "" neither or either " what could be the right answer ?? Since the main verb is "" i wish " and it is not negative !!!! I would answer me either, my answer is referred to "" i wish " . Thank you for your time .

'me either' doesn't really exist. To avoid ambiguity, you should say: I too wish that I had never met you.
