Hi Arnel! Thanks a bunch! This was a beneficial lesson, as prepositions (and phrasal verbs) are a very essential part of the English language! This was a good recap for me. I scored 17/17.

Oh, great score! I got 16 correct out of 17. Thank you very much for the insightful explanation of Prepositions of Movement. But the doubt between "over' and "across" still lives on, but maybe not as a Prepositions of Movement. Examples: 1. There is a bridge across/over the river. 2. There is a small shop across/over the road. I think " I jumped over the Thames" would be correct. Thank you.
Wonderful Yogesh! "I jumped over the Thames" is grammatically correct, but you would need super power legs to do that 😆. Yes, "over" and "across" can definitely be confusing. 1) Both "over" and "across" can be used. However, "over" is more common when speaking about a bridge's position. And, "across" the river could mean "on the other side of the river" which wouldn't really make sense for a bridge. 2) There is a small shop ACROSS the road. This is correct, because it means the shop is on the other side of the road. I've seen a few examples of "over the road" being used to mean "across the road," but I don't believe that's so common. I hope this helps! :)
All correct- 14/14. I could not solve no. 13,14,& 15 because they were covered by your written speech text . The lesson was excellent and in the usual 'Arnel style'! Thank you.
Hi teacher Arnel. Your method is amazing. When you love what you do. It's become like a game. English with 6 become easy like a piece of cake. Good luck, and I hope all the best ❤😊
That was a bombastic explanation thank you immensly I got a little question. When we use across with roads we like cross the road but with bridge we like walk along The my logic is lets say road and bridge are both in rectangular shape and A and B(left and right - length) and C and D (top and bottom-width) So why with roads we move from C to D But with bridges from A to B
Excellent Abricosca!! Sometimes people use "on" and "onto" interchangeably, especially with the verbs: jump, dive, drop, fall, put, and throw. So yes, "on" could be used in sentence 12. However, it's important to note that many times there is a clear difference: ON = the location. We walked on the boat. (This tells you where we were walking.) ONTO = the movement from one place to the next. We walked onto the boat. (This tells you that we got on the boat.) I hope this helps! :)
Oh yes! Prepositions are really important for that part. My lesson on prepositions of place could also be helpful: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-7pjZ3dkcg3M.html
17 out of 17 it was great and enjoyable 😊 understandable. My day starts I wake up ready for work, going to work I needed to away from my house then I reached at railway 🛤 station to catch a train. I got into the train and I one of my friends passed past me and I didn't see him I went through aisle seat.
Hi arnel's, I am indian. I have some doubts in news paper headlines.(donald Trump to talk with poor peoples and america to vote in all phases nov 20). could you explain this type of sentences why to write in news paper headlines?
That's a very common and formal structure. SOMEONE (BE) TO + verb. This means someone is going to do something. We use it for future plans and the "be" is often removed in headlines. Many times headlines shorten things. -World leaders (are) to meet in Stockholm. (future plan) -Council to close recreational center. (future plan) -Local hospitals to provide free vaccines to citizens over 60. (future plan) So, this is usually seen in writing and not common at all in speaking. I hope this helps :)
😢15 I went through the test while I traveled past noisy part of city and that distracted me a lot,I think I should have get off the train and keep walking along the mall near me
Hello my name is Mir Ahmad i belong to Afghanistan i wanna become a good speaker in english what should i do which things is amportant for me i,ll do it and i hope Arnel will guide me❤❤
That's great Juan! In number 6, "off" is only used when something is higher than something else: - She fell off her chair. (Chairs are higher than the floor.) - We jumped off the pier into the water. (Piers are higher than the water's surface.) So, "across" is the best choice as roads are (usually) not higher than the ground surrounding it. Hope this helps :)
Not bad at all! #8: Normally, things go UP or DOWN stairs. We can carry something OFF one platform, but because there are many steps in a flight of stairs, "up" is the only correct option. #9: "Across" is grammatically correct, but that would mean the boulder is sliding horizontally which would be a bit unusual. I hope this helps :)
