⛺️, love learning from you. I’m a widow and 75, but I have turned an extra bedroom into a pantry full of prepper food, small generator & one solar panel, rocket stove, cases of water, paper products, medical supplies and lots of food. I would love to buy Thrive Life, but can’t afford their products. I know they’re all wonderful. I don’t have half of what I need, but I can help my family and friends that all think I’m crazy! I tried camping in the backyard this past year and i learned a lot. I found that I needed to make a tent base ( also possible to buy one). The cold from the ground at night was hard to handle. If your tent is small and you can’t stand up you will eventually be uncomfortable. At night many animals come around. Most aren’t dangerous but they are curious- especially if they smell food. I ended up keeping my small tent but I bought a cheap/ used ice fishing tent for the height. I learned that It’s easier to camp when it’s cold. Camping in the summer was uncomfortable. It was stuffy in the tent- especially around 3 am. Flying insects are attracted to lantern light. You will need a plastic bag or plastic shoe storage box. Yes. Spiders like warm shoes. Never!!!! Leave your shoes at the base of your sleeping bag!!!! Are you getting the idea? Camping takes practice. Snacks? By all means. They will take your mind off the long day and even longer night. I learned that camping isn’t exactly fun but I’m still practicing because each time I spend a weekend in the tent I learn something practical.

You need to get a closed cell mat. You can find these in the camping/backpacking area of a sporting goods store or the section of Walmart. They act as an insulator from the ground. Wear wool sock to bed in cold weather. If your sleeping bag is a square bottom fill it with whatever you have to fill the empty space, you’ll have much let area to heat with your body heat.

To avoid such a wet mess when using ice in a cooler, freeze water in half gallon milk cartons. The melted water is contained and drinkable if necessary. Be sure to throughly clean them if you plan on using the water. You can also freeze your milk. Use it to cool and by the time you need to use it it should be melted.

My favorite meal while camping is yellow rice and chicken. When we were kids we went camping with mom and dad. After we got there it started raining. Here we are stuck in an old faction camper. 3kids and 2parents. We had a gas stove two burners. Mom cooked a chicken on one side and yellow rice (flavored rice on the other side). It smelled so good and we were so cold. It was the best meal ever.

I’m sure you can find out what’s in the flavor packet. Use minniut rice and use canned chicken to make a faster meal.

Sounds bad as a Prepper but I’m the type that likes camping at a Holiday Inn. I do not like the outdoors. I do not like grid down situations but if anything were to happen, I’d be ready to go. The only problem is I wouldn’t like it lol. 1:57

I ordered amazon keystone beef and some cans came puffy and all were dented.. Keystone gave me a hard time. First, they would not resolve the issue. I contacted Amazon and finally Keystone responded. After 2 weeks, Keystone had me take pictures multiple times, take a pictures of my box multiple times with multiple back and forth messages. After 5 weeks I finally got a PARTIAL refund. I don't know what is going on with Keystone, however, I do not trust them anymore for quality.

I'm sorry to hear that! This is the first time I've had an issue like this, usually they're great! But I think next time, I'm going to try ordering directly from Keystone's website instead of Amazon. I'm hoping I might have better luck and it looks like prices might be even better, especially if you buy by the case.

I’ve ordered numerous times directly from keystone…. Never an issue….. I trust directly from the manufacturer. Otherwise in my opinion Amazon was completely responsible, unless on Amazon site it stated being shipped from keystone and not Amazon. If shipped from Amazon, then keystone is not responsible after amazon accepted it from keystone

I had the same situation with the canned meat I ordered. Wasn’t from this company. All canned were dented plus some of them had leaked. Seal was broken. This was the pop top cans. I never order canned meat anymore. Not enough packing to protect the cans.

We love camping, have camped in Tents, pop-ups, campers. We prefer campers now as we are older. One of our most favorite camping meals is a hobo dinner, Diced potatoes, onions, cheese, a hamburger patty, and a small cob of corn, salt and pepper, and butter wrap in heavy duty foil, put on campfire and cook for about 20 minutes, depending on how thick your patties are and big your potatoes are. NO MESS! EASY CLEANUP. Thank you for all your inspiration 🏕

We used to primitive camp, getting to old now lol. We have a fifth wheel, I love my conveniences now. The only reason I'd go back to primitive camping again is if it won't be by choice 😅

Love, love, love your support of your daughter going vegetarian! I went vegetarian and my mom was supportive but my dad was less so :/ he didn't discourage it but he would not make vegetarian options for me when he was grilling sometimes, but eventually he came around.

Welcome back! Hope you had a great time! I have my Azure Standard pickup this Tuesday. Will definitely add the items you mentioned to next months order!! Yesterday I put together four bag meals with items from Dollar Tree..plus a couple I had to get at ALDI..for my daughter to have at home or on a camping trip! Thanks so much for that video👍😀. I grew up eating Loma Linda! Six years ago, I had to ween myself off these food types and it took two years :(. I now buy vital wheat gluten and make my own meats and burgers with jack fruit and nuts.

I haven't tried that yet. But Mr. Wicked Prepared did get a breakfast sandwich from Dunkin one time. He ordered it as a sausage, egg and cheese on an English muffin. We were going down the road and he started eating it and said "Wow this is really good, they must have changed the sausage recipe." We looked on the receipt and it ended up being their plant-based sausage 🤣🤣🤣 He loved it, but never would have tried it intentionally. Funny how our minds play tricks on us 🤣

I always have terrible luck with the 2.5 gallon water containers. All of mine have leaked when stored. For camping they're great though! We always grab a few to camp!

Freeze gallon water bottles to use in the cooler. Keeps food cold for a good while and you can drink the water when it melts. I keep a couple in my freezer during hurricane season (Texas Gulf Coast) and it helps hold the temp in event of a power outage.

Hi there. Great info. That cooler is awesome! Not sure where in Maine you live, I’m in Livermore, but Marden’s has some good deals on canned and box foods. The shelf life is sometimes closer to expiration than buying at Walmart or Hannaford, but still cheaper and good options. I haven’t been to the Baxter region for a couple years, last time stayed at NEOC campground for a two day Penobscot rafting trip. Have a great trip! Look forward to watching more of your videos.

Nobody will believe me.. but I've never went camping 🏕️🥾 I even grew up on a fish camp. So for us camping was all yr lol. But as a grown up. Never did it. My husband of 20rs is a complete nerd. He says there's no need to go. Comes up w a ton of complaints . But secretly I've been prepping food batteries & such. So when shtf hopefully I'll be ready 😊

I havnt seen the pace taco meat in over a year. I use Chata meat 8oz in a pouch now and available at walmart in the mexican area. One thing this is good practice to SHTF. i hav a 100qt and a 60 qt 12v fridgie/ freezers. Actually had a bear attack on the 100qt a couple months ago and it survived!!!!! Bought spice jungle worchestershire powder has good flavor.

Just went through a 28 hour power outage with very little information from the power company. First wrong information then no information on when to expect power restoration. I found we needed more little mess easy to digest food. Bought some canned chef boyardee chicken Alfredo pasta. Tried one can. Not terrible, no mess, and digestible. I have bottled water but it is limited for cleanups.

@@nadogrl like I said not trying to be an a** but I would feel safer with civil unrest in my home. Fire and flood makes sense to have to leave. Flood wouldn't be a concern where I live no body of water close. Fire could be a problem.

Hey Leslie 👋 No need to worry, we want this channel to be a place where we can learn from each other without judgement 😀 For us, staying put in our home is 100% our main focus and primary plan. That's our mindset for sure. But, we also never like that thought of being trapped, or without options. To us, having the option to jump in a fully-stocked vehicle and hit the road in a hurry, has a ton of benefits. We're thinking mostly evacuation type scenarios. Fire, floods, storms. It's not always going to be a line of tanks rolling into your town, but it could be 🤷‍♀️ Just knowing we could leave in a hurry AND have enough gear to survive is a huge peace of mind. Even just the thought of a house fire .. if you could manage to get all of your people and pets into the van and get it safely across the street or to your backyard, you'd at least escape with more than just the shirt on your back. Thank you for being so nice. I think what would I do if...... I live in Oklahoma so we are always thinking of a tornado. I keep papers I need in a metal box all enough to grab. I have to plan to get me and the dogs in the hallway. I have a whistle just in case so I can be found if the house gets hit. If course some water bottles. Scary, that's what I think about while trying to go to sleep. Always thinking 'what if'. Thanks again for being nice. Stay safe, stay healthy.

Theres a compressor and a air tank right behind the plastic bumpers and they sit in front of your front tires. They are for your air ride suspension and if you go off road, do not attempt driving over large humps because you could possibly damage them. Ive repaired the same van you bought recently as i am a mechanic. Be careful

That may have been an upgrade that had been done to that particular van. Ram Promasters do not come with factory air ride suspension. But nonetheless, we don't plan to do any off-roading with this. Someday we may upgrade to something 4wd, but for now .. this works for us. -Rob (Mr. Wicked Prepared)

Ooh I'll have to look for the chili! When I was a child we had a big SDA population in our area so my mom was able to get these cans easily. Last I checked there wasn't anything close by me any more so I've been going to Amazon. But there is a frozen item I'd love to get my hands on again if I can find a source.

I am happy you guys decided to pick up a lot of the rocks😊 I notice there were lots of potatoes in there. Do you just leave them for compost or you collect them to be utilize for food.? Hobo dinner Wrap a hamburger patty or chicken breast in foil along with veggies like carrots, onions and potato chunks. Season and cook over coals. Easy and everyone puts in what they like.

⛺, I've gotten Lomali lida, & other Vegetarian items..and enjoyed the ones I got...No I'm not Vegetarian, but do grow tired of meat sometimes..So great alternative for Protein.. Never saw GV Chili dogs, will look next time out.. Great Camping item tour..Especially the Refrigerator/ Freezer.. Safe trip..🏕♥️🌹

I always take at least a half dozen mouse traps on camping trips, you would be amazed at how many mice exist in your average camping spot, lots of free food there. It can be miserable if they get into your tent or even a trailer if someone leaves the door open for a few minutes. Peanut butter is a good bait.

Question : is there a specific reason you purchased the keystone ground beef from Amazon instead of the keystone brand website? I plan to buy a bunch of cans to add to my growing pantry but I've noticed that the ones on Amazon can rage drastically in price and the ones on the website while aren't free to ship seem to be better priced per unit. Yeah some people who fancy themselves as a survivalists have never been camping any distance away from civilization. I would actually consider taking that nice van loaded with equipment is "glamping" too. I say this as a man who is shopping around for my families first travel trailer. However, especially when my boys get a little older, I'm going to insist on one backpack only camping trip per year for at least a long weekend. 🏕️

Wowser! 🏕 I home can meats and make a seasoning blend for different things like sausage. It's easy to make patties, bake & can them. Those seasoning pkgs you found would lessen the work of mixing spices. Although we eat 80 to 90% keto, I have been stocking the Prepper pantry with foods that will be good for ease, comfort, & calories if shtf. Your videos have helped me rethink organizing. Walmart Great value brands contain a lot of bio engineered ingredients now . Be cautious of what your eating . Many other foods you showed do as well . Please read your labels ..
