An absolute stunning view!! I just purchased my very first 5 tier black shelves like you have, yesterday. I hate that I am so late in the game. So far, I only have 3 cases of water lol and a couple cans and bags of beans. Next week, I'm getting another two more. I live in a townhouse and these will be stored in my large basement so it's always cool. You gave me some great ideas and hopefully I'll have some time to stock up before SHTF. Much love ❤
I would offer one little bit of advice: Stock up on your family's favorite HOLIDAY Comfort Foods. For example, I noticed you have boxes of stuffing and canned ham. Good. You have flour, so you can make pie dough. Good. I would make sure you have turkey meat (if that's what you do on holidays), I recommend you have pumpkin puree and spices for pumpkin pies... have plenty of dried apples and other fruits for other favorite pies and cobblers. Cans of cranberry sauce. Maybe stock plenty of sweet-potatoes and all the little side-dishes that go with your Holiday dinner-of-choice. My examples are primarily based on my own holiday favorites, namely Thanksgiving and Christmas, here in California. Now the thought is in your head... think on what your own family's favorite Holiday traditions are... and stock up. Also, do you have plenty of gravy for poutine? (Just thinking out loud.)
Thanks! I do have cans of pumpkin and cherry pie filling, Tenderflake pie crust mix and cranberry sauce as well, as well as cake, brownie, and muffin mixes. Were not big fans of turkey so we have lots of chicken and ham in the freezer.
New Sub here, great prep shelves, folks always been since they were young in the 1940's in Hawaii during WW2, that taught them and G-parents to be more resourceful, later the threat was more about Longshoremen going on Strike than anything, so me , brother and sister do our best to keep the stockpile going, Aloha from Pahrump NV.
Whew! You had me worried for a moment..wondering where the cereals & goodies were! Candy??? Did I miss candy?? Gotta have some candy!! LOL Wonderful selection & organization..very impressed!
@@northernprepper1173 Very good! :) I`m not gonna say how many jars of miniature asstd Hershey bars & Jolly Roger hard candies I have sealed in jars. Now THAT`S emergency foods! :)
Fantastic pantry!!! I'm not quite at your level yet but getting there. I wish I didn't have rodent issues. Your shelves are much easier to analyze than mine. I have all of my pasta and boxes and bags in clear totes. It still works, just not as easy to shop it.
I tried the totes too and found it was hard to keep track of how much product I had and what needed to be re-stocked so I ended up putting it back on the shelves. A house cat will fix most rodent problems if that's something you're able to afford or tons of those cheap little wooden mousetraps surrounding all your preps. This mouse bucket trap is amazing. www.amazon.com/Bucket-Humane-Outdoor-Compatible-LBK-M0097/dp/B09LDGKTPP/ref=asc_df_B09LDGKTPP?tag=bingshoppinga-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=80814230791523&hvnetw=o&hvqmt=e&hvbmt=be&hvdev=c&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=&hvtargid=pla-4584413752937316&psc=1
Mega pantry. Love it. I love doing my own too. So glad after all the price hikes now. I'm from the UK and you are great inspiration to anyone starting out. 😁💖
Me too. At least we have two preppers in UK haha. I clicked on this as I thought Northern Prepper would be Newcastle or sommat lolz. I've watched every prepper pantry video on YT I think, and this one is up there in the top five. Super stuff.
This is a mighty fine pantry I must say, very well organized; Canadian, eh? Been prepping for a decade now but survivalism is in my blood so let me offer some advice. What strikes me as odd about your pantry is the amount of condiments and other non-foods you have; things that are not a meal on their own. What you want as a prepper, a quick and easy but filling meal and hopefully cheap.... and MRE on steroids. Speaking of which, I noticed the Campbell's P(r)epper Steak and Potatoes; delicious and quite filling. Also things that can be grown, should be grown; rather than bought. Most of my condiments are either home made or are sample sizes. Things that you grow yourself will be much better than anything you buy in a store and then you can can; like canned tomatoes. If you grow tomatoes, than you can make all sorts of sauces, ketchups, pastes, salsa, et cetera. I am a Northerner too and Northern Climates usually have cold-hardened people and thus, already pre-disposed to prepping. Just think of all the preps us Canadian have to do for winter... well, those of us North of Toronto that is. Firewood, shovels, snowblower, sleighs, snowmen, snow forts, snowball fights, snowmobiles, skis... ok so, it's not all that bad.
You have a nice variety. I didn't see any Keystone canned beef, or canned pork, which are two of my favorites. Quality meat. They also sell canned chicken, canned turkey, and canned hamburger.
Careful with Nestle products. They have been known to use a lab that tests and produces flavoring additives (natural flavor) with aborted fetal tissue cells. They aren’t the only big brand. Pepsi used them for a while and finally relented after a huge backlash. The enemy is trying to win and getting us to consume our most defenseless population is points in his favor.
You better stock up on some hypertension medications that’s a lot of processed, low nutrition food. I did the same thing. I regretted it after living off nothing but our preps for four months. My blood pressure went up shockingly high from normal levels, I gained weight despite eating less, and had no energy. I changed it up to healthier options, canned my own vegetables and fruit. Freeze dried healthy meals. It’s more expensive but I have a lot more energy and don’t need blood pressure pills.
We don’t have basements here in my part of the South. Nice prepping but I’m hoping you’re also prepped with outdoor cameras and ways to protect your family and food. It may get a lot bumpier than we think.
On the Mac and cheese hamburger helper cornmeal especially dried potatoes. These will expire before too long. I bought a seal a meal. Took the items out of their box sealed them and then put the bag into the box. Noodles in a box will expire. I shut off the seal a meal as soon as I hear a noodle pop and seal it with a 02 sensor in the bag. Now it’s long term. I take my new bags of flour and sugar I Do Not use 02 sensor but I put the new bag into a gallon sealer bag and seal it. When I need a new bag and cut it open it’s just like I just bought it off the shelf. Works great
@@northernprepper1173 if you ever get a chance to run by a construction site when they're painting, ask them if you can grab some of the empty paint buckets. I don't know if this is universal, but around here (L.A., CA, USA), the construction/painters buy LARGE buckets of paint... and in order to hold the weight, the buckets are METAL. They're metal... AND they're the same size as standard 5-Gallon buckets and the lids are compatible. I mention this because I've heard that rodents do actually chew through plastic to get to the contents of peoples' food supplies... including heavy plastic buckets. I'm certain a metal bucket would defy any rodent's efforts to chew through it. Most modern paints are water-based (or, as one ad puts it, basically heavy water-colors), it is easy to clean out an empty paint bucket, then sanitize it for other storage uses. If your rice, wheat, flour, sugar, etc. is stored in mylar bags... or even ziploc bags... oh to heck with it... paper bags!... the foods aren't touching the sides of the bucket, anyway. So, not a problem. IF you can get the timing right and get your hands on some of these construction site empty paint buckets, you can get those threaded lid tops and have secure METAL food storage. Sorry, rodents.
TIP: If you buy solar powered lighting for the outdoor walkway you can bring them in at night to light up the whole house. I have a dozen. They line my walkway. But if I lose power I will bring them in at night.
@@northernprepper1173 Thanks, I would also like to invent a way power the house’s natural gas heating system from the battery of an EV such as a Tesla. I bet it could run a natural gas home heating system overnight. It only requires running the circulation pump. Even if this never gets invented I’m sure it’s possible to charge your Mobile devices from the Tesla or even run the cable/internet modem. Don’t try to stop me, I’m on a roll. Hahaha 🤣
amazing channel love the opening music theme ,one of my favorite songs . I wish I could find a man that preps like you, keep prapping FYI I'm waiting for part 3 and I'm a new subscriber.😊
Some people suggest putting the bags of noodles and rice and or flour etc into air tight sealed buckets. Can freeze the rice first to kill any weevils for 48 hours etc.
Do you freeze your beans, rice, flour etc to kill weevil eggs? I freeze mine then transfer to mason jars or food grade lidded buckets with bay leaves and oxygen absorbers.
@@debbieb9628 My family doesn't prep either Debbie. They say I am nuts. I just smile and think to myself, "You are going to be thankful that I thought of you while I was acting crazy." Stay safe and keep on a prepping!
@@naomiverdugo2180 Why would you want to Share your food preps. with people, Family, who Contribute Nothing and think you are foolish to do so?? You Are a Fool!! My Whole Family is the Same Way. No Preparing!! They Already Know the Kitchen WILL BE CLOSED when Their Bellies Start to Rumble. Harsh?? NO!! They Had Plenty of Warning!!
@@gailcurl8663 Because I love my family. I have prepped over board! You call me a fool. Do you have children? Do you have grandchildren? So I am foolish? But you would let them go hungry? If so...I would rather be a fool that loves her family than a b**** like you that would let her family starve to death. Enough said. End of story. No response from you will be entertained.
See about getting a Steady Cam for your phone, it's like a heavy holder that keeps the camera from moving/jiggling. It's hard for people to keep a steady shot sometimes especially when moving around. Just a thought :)
Every thing looks great and well organized. You probably have but didn't show would be vitamins and other supplements. I did notice an absons of five gallon buckets and other containers that would keep things fresh and would reduce the likelihood of insect as well as mice from dinning on your assets. I enjoyed your video and will subscribe.
I did show some of the vitamins and over the counter meds but not all. The buckets are all sitting in my garage they need to be washed and sanitized before I can use them.
For your FOOD Preps, have you gotten to the point where your just 'rotating' and 'restocking'? Do you now maintain a 'Working Pantry'? I ask since most of your stuff is 'Store Brought' with 'Best Buy' dates. This would also REDUCE your expenditures during this HIGH INFLATION time.
Work through your instant mashed potatoes, scalloped potatoes and Ramen They have oil in them and will go rancid. I made the mistake of packaging Instant potatoes in Mylar with oxygen absorbers for very long term storage and wished I had chosen a no oil version.
Thanks I had heard that too that's why I never sealed them up for long term because I learned the Raman noodle mistake a few years back and had to throw out a few cases of Raman.
@@JaneH3675 they are good for about two years or so before they go rancid. Maybe longer if vacuumed well . I’m not going to package things with oil anymore for long term 10-25 years category .
@@northernprepper1173 very very similar to mine. Love it. Yours is a little more organized and a bit more hygenie stuff ( yes that's a hole I have in my preps). But overall same stuff. Keep up the great work. Central Alberta Canada here
For some of the stuff like rice and powdered milk and flour yes, the beans I will pressure can up because they don't store well long term their texture changes and don't cook right after a few years, the rest we will be using and re-stocking as best we can, might put some stuff in Mylar bags with O2 absorbers or vacuum seal in mason jars.
@@northernprepper1173 will you vacuum can your pasta, or place in Mylar bags? I have vacuum canned mine. Nice supply of long term, and short term food. Blessings from Central Iowa 🇺🇸
we dont have the supplies you do i would say about 70 % of our food is home grown garden has veggies spices strawberries have fruit trees berry bushes can our own veggies jams apple sauce tomato sauce relish salsa pickles pie filling freeze berries for other use meat our pantry we eat out of 13-15 months worth yes we have to go shopping about 4x a year chickens for eggs and meat do have a generator w 15 gal of gas run long enough for showers charge freezer/fridge fill water tank oil lamps candles rechargeable solar lanterns buy wheat oats corn in bulk make own bread oatmeal grits pasta make maple syrup bees for honey one of your videos you mention a place think we are from the same state
That prepackaged Mac and cheese for us did not save. The powder gets really hard and does not dissolve when you cook it. We had to trash the cheese part of quite a bit.
I found the same thing but what I do is put the hard cheese powder in a thick zip lock bag and the roll/pound it with a rolling pin to break it back up into powder. Also I bought a big bag of cheese powder from Bulk Barn to have in a jar as backup.
In North Texas, we don’t see roaches. Mostly spiders here. We’ve never had mice in our house but this summer we had rats in our garden!!! We wondered why all of a sudden the neighborhood cats showed up! Mostly I repackage dry goods in gallon glass jars with oxygen absorbers. The concern is insect eggs in the flour/sugar that may hatch and ruin the goods.
Congratulations...on your preps. However it's time to stop showing the world what everyone has..Theirs evil in the world...and lazy ass people that didn't prepare and unfortunately thieves that are going to be looking for a free ride!!! Be safe ,smart ,and ready! May The Most High be with you all.
No being in Canada where we all have basements that are cool i've never had a bug problem in 15 years in any stored foods. I do plan to vacuum seal al my dry foods eventually though.
May I ask, how do you manage the rotation regarding expiration dates? I just finished some soup that expired in 2019, nothing wrong with it. Also finishing a sack of rice that expired in 2017. Sooner or later I'm going to have to rotate some stuff out. The local food banks won't take expired goods though. Just toss it and replace? Thanks, best wishes.
I marked the dates on everything with a felt marker so I can see them canned foods will last 8 years beyond their best by dates I found by trial and error rice never expires so just make sure you're eating your food so you don't have to throw any of it out
Friends and family will be the first to come, of course it's good to share, but some may not be so nice. Then gangs even in the countryside should all law and order break down. Human nature when you have no restraints and are hungry will prevail.
I debated that for years but I realized that if I can help people wake up and give them some incentive to start prepping before it's too late it would be worth it. I have a prepping community around me of former military guys and gals and we all have each others back as far as security is concerned so I'm not worried. Just wanted people to get motivated before the world plunges into full blown SHTF.
I live in an earthquake zone and some of my preps are in Mason jars. After preparing I return them to their original cardboard box and place thin foam cushioning between the glass. I secure shelves to wall studs and place strong cotton around the lower portion of each shelf to prevent boxes from slipping. Lightweight paper products are placed between shelves for cushioning, should the shelving drop. There are no guarantees against acts of nature but this reduces the chances of damage.
I have luggable loos for each family member(3) A bike with a trailer to haul poop bags to offsite disposal area:) Proper waste disposal in a city or town will quickly get difficult!
