The yellow flowers are daffodils. You can harvest the ones in the woods. They will have bulbs to them and they can be transplanted to the garden closer to your home.

Research guinea hens, they eat ticks and prevent Lyme disease. Free range them around the property would help eliminate are cut back on the tick population if not get rid of them. Guinea fowl lay eggs and also produce meat! Win win 🏆👍🏽💕💕 I live in a city with a nice size lot , food forest and have 12 raised beds, 40 fruit trees and bushes . I wish I had room for fowl! 😂😂

You need a Skidger. It goes through weeds like butter. You can put flower tape in a grid pattern, or use a flower wire or sponge to make the flowers stand up.

Simone, the flowers are beautiful! You can use clear cellophane tape in a grid patern on the vase before adding the flowers to give them more structure. I truly love to watch you and your husband. Many blessings to you both.

We live on 24 acres and also have ticks etc We ordered an all natural lime safe for your animals etc. It kills ants, fleas, ticks etc. It's made from the company called First Saturday Lime.

Dragonflies will control your mosquitoes. So, plant plenty of flowers and install perches to attract them. As for ticks, they like tall grass, so keep your grass cut low.

Maybe y’all can grow some lemon balm. It repels mosquitoes. But y’all may want to grow it in pots because the mint family can become invasive and take over the whole garden.

Just cut daffodil stems a bit shorter and they'll stand up OR a deeper vase. Also guinea hens squak super loud..no peace & quiet...so talk to someone who has them b4 you decide to get some. Love your channel and the way you put our Lord 1st. God bless you and your future plans.

For mosquitoes, you can plant lemongrass around your house and in the garden

A suggestion is when you use ground cover, don’t use plastic as the ground cover kills the grass, and the rain goes through and water the ground.. I use ground cover, and burn holes for the tiny plants, but I don’t have the size garden that you do. Good luck..

For the ticks yall can also do a strip or two of duct tape sticky side out around your shins so they get stuck trying to crawl up your pantleg. Blessings!

Geranium oil for ticks! Keep it in a spray bottle by your boots. Cover your socks and pants with the spray every time you work. It makes a huge difference!

Those plants at 3:30's is Daffodils Gerald is right. You guy's have an amazing property and those garden is huge! Simone, Those low vase is beautiful! Tips: You could use a small piece of 1 inch mesh chicken galvanized wire to put on top of the opening of the vase it will keep your cut flowers upright and in place. Just make sure you put the sharp edges face down.

Hi guys, loving the video. You can actually dig up the daffodil bulbs and plant them closer to your house to enjoy even more. Same with the irises. Also, I learned a long time ago to put ice in the water in your vase-the plants perk up quickly.

When you have a chance, invest in a small greenhouse. You have to keep the temperature consistent. When you move it in and out of the house you're changing the temperatur.. And not only are you changing the temperature but the lightning is different in the house versus outside..😊

Using transparent tape, tape a criss cross grid or a checkerboard grid on the top of your vase and feed your cut flowers through the grid and they will stand up in the vase

Hey family...planting marigolds, lavender and rosemary helps us in our garden and around the property to combat mosquitos in the warmer months. Basil also helps as well.

Love this! I know nothing about gardening but it's fun to support and watch you both plus the cats). From someone who attracts mosquitoes, I had a friend make homemade soap with lots of Lemongrass essential oils in it. I was a bit skeptical about it but it worked! We were outside all day and I didn't get one mosquito bite! If you find something natural for tick repellent, let a sister know because I seem to get them too. Many blessings to you.

Love watching your progress! Symone (sp?), I think when you pick the daffs, pluck out only the flower from the bottom of the plant and leave as many leaves as possible. The bulbs need the leaves to keep pulling energy from the sun and send it down to the bulb for next year. Nicole at Flower Hill Farm says she pulls her daff blooms at the goose stage - not open. She shows what that looks like. Watch her latest video - Daffodils! First Harvest of 2024, a Quick Look at the Farm : Flower Hill Farm - about that. P.S. The sign is gorgeous. I had the same issue with onions. Make sure you poke holes around it so it gets air and it will grow! I harvested two big onions so far!

Chickens, Guinea fowl, and turkeys all eat ticks and fleas you can free range them during the day and then have a safe space for them at night…..also citronella plants are good for repelling mosquitos

Ticks hate eucalyptus oil and lemon. If you use that on yourself it will repel them and it could kill them. There's alot of natural ways to keep them off of you and your property. I looked this up last summer when I found one crawling on my pants. Also, lavender was recommended, as well. I love your channel! You live on a lake! Lovely! Did you use lake water to water the onions? Lake water, I heard about in a previous video, is better for the plants! More nutrients are in lake water!

Lots of times daffodils in the middle of the woods let you know that there was a home in that location. We found daffodils on our land. Then we found a horse drawn tiller an old well, we even found 2 tombstones dated 130 years ago.

I watch Tribe of Many & they have a homestead as well. Sarah of the channel says that her chickens get rid of the ticks. Idk what else gets rid of them.
