That makes a lot more sense to me to replenish some of the staples. That’s the thing that has always confused me about pantry challenges/no buy challenges. Because yes I could do it but then my pantry would be completely depleted and while I saved one month I would have to spend extra afterwards to replenish it. I did a no buy/low spend in October. And while I bought groceries just having the mindset that I wasn’t going to buy anything that wasn’t a necessity this month really did help and I saved a lot!

Yes! I don’t want to completely deplete my every day items, because if I had to bulk buy everything at once, it would be way too much. Yes! Having that mindset helps a lot! ❤️

So, how does buying for the next season looks? This sounds like a great idea, especially for my girls as they dont grow as fast! At the end of summer, would you purchase the next sizes up?

Yes! So this summer I will be purchasing any winter 2024/25 items, and in the fall I will gather the summer 2025 things! There will always be some things that I buy in-season, but for the most part I try to buy in the opposite seasons to take advantage of clearance sales! ❤️

Oh I am with you on this one. We are saving to buy a larger home and need to save for a larger down payment with these interest rates. I am planning to not spend unless we need something until back to school sales. Then really think hard about what we need during those sales then wait until Black Friday sales for other items. I like your idea of shelf cooking. We always have so much food in the pantry 😅. Hopefully, writing down what I want to buy then waiting will make me think harder about purchases.

This is going to be me as well! I find that having something to remind me of the end goal always helps me stay on track. I will sometimes put a simple picture in the front of my Bible or on the window in front of the kitchen sink to remind me to think of the bigger picture. ❤️❤️❤️
