There is no shortage of opinions and advice on how to "properly" do an extended fast. Unfortunately, there seems to be not a lot of agreement between the various internet "experts". I don't claim to be an expert, but I do have some tips to share based on my own experience with fasting as I prepare to kick off a week long fast this Tuesday evening.

Recipe for "Snake Juice":
- 2 quarts (or liters) of water
- 1 tps "No Salt" - potassium chloride
- 1/2 tsp pink Himalayan salt - sodium chloride
- 1 tsp baking soda - sodium bicarbonate
- 1/2 tsp Epsom salts - magnesium sulfate
(optional for flavor) lemon juice, lime juice, and/or apple cider vinegar
