Thank you so much. I tried OBS Ninja for the first time today at our Church's stream. We have 2 cameras so I used OBS Ninja to bring in 2 phone cameras to capture moments during praise and worship. Loved it and definitely following this channel.
Hey Steve. I know I have commented on a few of your videos and your response times to questions is second to none. Your VDO.Ninja has essentially revolutionised my live streaming. Many MANY thanks to you for creating this. Keep up the great work. Subscribed!
I appreciate this video.. I’m sure I’m not the only one that has brought this up but based on our conversation the other day in your Discord, it seems like that was the inspiration for making this video. And that’s super dope to essentially have a video response to the issue I brought up. Thank you 🙏🏽! - DiViNCi
Excellent, really good ideas around testing the recipient end. I guess that the best I can do is make 100% that my connections are as good as they can be.
You are my new hero for obs ninja! we on our channel EiE Network do comedy debunking and other live chat chows and this is a game changer, especially for debates! Thank you so much!
Thank you so much Steve, this was a huge help. We also encountered some packet loss issues when we applied custom features (animate mixing and fade in videos), but i'm guessing this will stabilise if we have our guest on ethernet rather than wifi.
Animated mixing and fade-in caused packet loss? That's not good. It might happen if the guest is on a very slow computer maybe? Do you know if their computer slow?
I still have a good amount of testing to do.. but this was a very helpful video and I feel like I understand some crucial concepts now.. When bringing in a guest, however are there just some settings I can suggest to them to increase the likelihood of best quality on their end? or even better ways I can force the best settings via appending certain character strings to the URL I send them?
Thank you so much for developing OBS Ninja. It is definitely a struggle to get guests on an ethernet connection. I do have a question on the Preferred Vido Codec when you create a room. Should you leave it as default and what does it use by default? When would I want to use the others. Thank you so much.
love ur work, thank u very much. Im trying to use gyro data to move a virtual background in obs, do you know how to achieve it? that would be a killer application
OBS Ninja has become the best tool I have used for my online Tabletop Roleplay gaming sessions! Thank you for the great product. May I ask if there is some way to reimburse you for your efforts?
Apologies for missing this comment. Thank you. If interested in sponsoring my projects, there's info on that here: docs.obs.ninja/getting-started/sponsor ; definitely don't feel obliged, but the gesture is definitely always valued.
Classically, you can always use RTMP to push to restream.io and then pull from there back as RTMP. 2 to 10-seconds of delay lets say, but less prone to issues. Maybe the occasional buffering hang up.
thanks again Steve.. obs.ninja is amazing... u talked briefly about the codecs choice... i just realized today that there is a av1 choice there.. with a scientist icon! ? would it be the best choice? any pros and cons using it over vp9? thanks again.. cheers from brazil
AV1 is brand new in Chrome 90. As a result, I have not tested it much at all yet. It has many advanced features, but it uses more CPU than than other codecs. It does have better video compression than other codecs. Where it might be useful is with connections that have a lot of bad packet loss. However, since OBS only runs Chromium 75, it's not supported in OBS itself yet. LIkely won't be for another year. The Electron capture app i have is like Chromium v87, so it too isn't able to use it yet. As a result, I consider it purely experimental -- you can test it out, hence the science icon, but it's not quite something I can recommend using.
i just tested in a mobile over 4g.... the image was ok.. bit slow.. but the audio was very cracking.. just wanted to give u this feedback... thanks again 🙏
@@zitotreverson7212 thank you. You could try adding &enhance to the viewer side and maybe adding &noap to the push side. Sounds like there is still a weak connection somewhere.
docs.vdo.ninja/guides/connecting-smartphone-to-computer-via-usb I wrote up a guide with some options; I don't have any app at the moment to make this setup easier though.
Hello. What you think about using Open MPTCP router with your OBS.Ninja. It is good alternative to Speedify, but it needs manually setting and also VPS server. Thank you for your hard work!
@@steve_seguin it 8s very good sollution. I made this working and also used to stream rtmp and srt in vmix. It devide trafic on all connections (4x lte, 3x ethernet). But you need to have server to be in datacenter because bonding is grnerated on that end. So here is must to have the most stable internet optic connection.
hola espero que entiendas español, he leido tu motivación para crear obs ninja y me parece muy humanitario, gracias por solidarizarte con los muchos estudiantes que no pueden ir a clases por esta pandemia, dios lo bendiga. gracias de nuevo.
I have and issue with Beringer mixer an realtek sound card. When I invite people being director-mansger of the room, there is an annoying feedback in my line, in my voice, if I let the echo cancellation in 'true', it's ok, but if I put in 'false' it appears the little sound feedback of my line (director room). I don't know if only happens with inner realtek sound cards (I try with analog and usb Beringer mixer)
@@steve_seguin I put it like 50% of total volume. I try with some and the problem is the same. Is so weird. Maybe realtek cards have an issue with ninja?
@@JonRivero since it’s a mixer, it’s very hard for me to tell where the problem could be. Audio routing can be quite complex. If echo cancellation fixes it, it would imply there might be some feedback leaking back into the mic.
@@steve_seguin Thanks a lot! I have trying with other interfaces, behringer UMC 202HD and another yamaha mixer and the problem continues. Im sure that is the internal circuit of the pc. With all sound devices is the same issue.
Hi Steve, i have trouble while using OBS Ninja. It's not running smothly on OBS but when i check the internet and handphone nothing really goes wrong. Can you help it? i really appreciate your content!
can you join the discord? discord.vdo.ninja : i can support you better from there. Sometimes this occurs because hardware acceleration is turned off in OBS ; browser source hardware accleeration in advanced settings
If you want to share the OBS audio output with guests in OBS.Ninja, you will need to use a virtual audio cable. Using OBS, you output the audio you want to the MONITOR output in OBS, then select the Virtualcble as the monitoring device, and then select that in OBS.Ninja. Details below; starts half way down the article. docs.google.com/document/d/e/2PACX-1vSDPs--Oxjc7Omu2gPTrMzmZDrduaYs18kMtvB_HAXRaEBPtlGjVgMXMzvOoLMCtldfFtJzHAZVYHXS/pub
@@steve_seguin thanx for the quick reply, I will try again today. I love obs and obs.ninja I was just missing that one piece of the puzzle to replace zoom.
@@steve_seguin Great article for sure! Using VoiceMeeter Potato for a while now and it's been amazing for sending inputs and outputs where I actually want them to go. Soundcard, mics, VR, speakers, BT devices. Plus the free cable plus A + B. Might be overkill but its a blessing to have the channels setup. So your guide is basically all anyone needs I just take it a step further xD
@@steve_seguin still struggling to get sound out to the other person. I got it to where I can hear them, its all on OBS and i can see and hear them, they can see me, but i still cant hear them. I am sure im missing something ive tried many times.
Hi Hudrico, I'm pretty tight on time these days, though it might be possible to chat at some point. For now, I'd recommend you join the community at discord.obs.ninja ; lots of people there who'd be happy to help. If you still need help after, we can chat. Kindly, steve
The computer said cpu overload? Just means you aren't getting the best quality possible, as the cpu is nearing it's limit. If the pixel said overload, that's fine. The system will adapt. Using h264 as a codec might help reduce the load on the pixel. If in a group room, you can use the broadcast mode instead also Join the discord for more help. Discord.obs.ninja
Vdo.ninja res settings is s*** when i wanna change my res in the phone to 1920x1080 its changing to 1080x1920 broo it 1920x1080 is not a res but vdo ninja i love it but the res settings sucks
The resolution that your phone supports is not something that VDO.Ninja controls; VDO.Ninja just lets you interface with what the phone is offering. Most phones use a "rotation flag" to tell a video player whether to play it back in portrait or landscape mode. The resolution doesn't change; only whether the rotation flag is on or off changes. For the rotation flag to change, you will need to have your phone's rotation lock disabled. Then when you rotate the phone, the video's rotation flag changes. VDO.Ninja does have its own rotation flag , which you can set using &rotate, added to the phone's VDO.Ninja URL. This will work on top of the phone's built rotation flag.
