These techniques are not exclusive to the Amish -- these are techniques I was taught as a child in the UK. I was taught to grow veg/fruit plus make cheese, butter, bread. As well as carpentry, dressmaking/tailoring, french polishing, and many other skills that most people no longer use.

The Amish (and Mennonite) Way has been created by generations of knowledge passed down to the younger people. Our "Way" was created by a disconnect between generations. Sometimes it is because younger people had to go away for higher education and then went where the jobs were, separating them from the generational knowledge.

We are not Amis but my grate grandmother always had a garden all kinds of vegetables and fruits and we had chickens and a milk cow we were thankful for what we had and she tough us to take care of yourself to do canning and to sew and all kinds of things. Take care of yourself and learn to be able to take care of yourself and family and friends. God bless you 🙏 and yours keep the faith 🙏 and pray for our country every day 🙏❤

I even buy items when they are clearing them out in stores like blueberries, strawberries, apples, peaches etc and then freeze dry them. It’s a great feeling to know that not only did you save a ton of money but you have fresh fruits and vegetables anytime of the year
