The recession is here, where do investors look at for wealth gains now? mortgage rates still on the rise with higher imports and lower exports, yet the Fed is to lessen cost. Something will eventually break if they keep raising interests and quantitative tightening.
if you want to hold on to cash, put it in a safe deposit box, if you want assets, buy things people need in a shtf society, food, ammo, wood, water filters, tools, have a skill at building and fixing
IMO, when we go into recession, tech will do poorly as a sector considering what's going on in the world, while defense stocks should be doing good, but always do your own research, or speak to a valid advisor before investing your money
Agreed, I've always delegated my excesses to a pro, ever since suffering portfolio steep-down amid covid-19 outbreak. As of today, I'm semi-retired with barely 25% short of my $1m retirement goal after subsequent investments, and only work 7.5 hours a week.
@@StephenTho42 incredible outcome! how can I vet this professional guiding you pleas? definitely would love to end the year well, but also concerned who I let handle growing my finance
I've stuck with ‘’Katherine Nance Dietz” for four years now, and her performance has been consistently impressive. She’s quite known in her field, you can confirm her on the internet.
Depends on the circumstances. I live in Florida. If a major hurricane came across where I live with flooding, then I would leave. If there is a collapse of law and order, I would stay in my home.
dont worry the congress and senate have destroyed our military gotten rid of our fuel and ammo given billions of dollars to our enemy opened boarders and paid for foreign troops to invade our country do you think you can win a war with traitors in gov no way
Uhh....I tried gardening, lost it all, watched videos to learn, but the heat in Texas killed them all and they were getting started in a green house, and watered, and nutured. 😢
Once upon a time people were willing to work, that there was honor and dignity in helping to provide for your family. Not with your hand out. Many people had savings in a bank that failed. Some one was complaining to me about how much groceries cost and she has a large flat yard , perfect for a garden. I told her she needed to put in a garden, I got told "You are used to hard work, I just can't" Oh well do with out then.
Tough call Bug in or Bug out. To me bugging out leaves you more vulnerable with little food and water. Your most likely be on your own or dragging your family through total chaos. Rather stay with supplies and defend my home to the end.
I have been learning frugality for many years and not because I had to it just made sense to save where we could and invest in tangible items that would give back. I have so much clutter in my house but I wouldnt get rid of any of it just because its all helpful .. such as candle making supplies, sewing supplies, canning supplies.. all will be needed if it truly ever got real bad again. Today I hung clothes on the line.. strained bones to can broth, water my greenhouse plants and picked a handful of green beans (I live in the cold NE zone 5 I shouldnt be picking green beans already but I learned the Winter Sowing method aka the cheapest way to garden and get a heads start. Later i will pick blackcaps which will give me enough to make several jars of Jam.. forage wild oregano to put up medicine and my spice. Living the simple life is such a valuable and fulfilling way to live in my opinion.
A good logical overview but I think that does not fit most begginers' reality. If a person lives in a tornado- or hurricane- prone country, they should be able to plan ahead and budget like you are suggesting. But a total permanent loss of electricty can happen minutes from now. An hour ago a major transformer blew here. With an elderly parent on oxygen I had to act fast. My point is the unexpected timing of a massive grid-down event when a person is just getting started to prepare will create a hurry up approach. I could have started a logical plan a week ago but would not have been ready. There is a very steep learning curve , which can be overwhelming, all while trying to meet daily time commitments of every day life. As for a security system, electricity is usually required. We have solar-powered security lights but not a solar-powered alarm system. We have to look into that. Meanwhile non-electrical security methods should be considered.
alam nyo sir..gustong gusto ko sana mag prepper kaso lng walang wala po kaming pera..paano namin mabibili kahit can goods mahirap bilhin kaso ang income namin tama lng kulang pa..wala kming mga saving kasi tricycle driver lng asaea ko 400 pesos lng ang dalang pera pag uwi..ano ipang bili nmin kulang panga s pagkain namin
It sounds like you live in a tropical country. I hope that you can grow some of your own food and all year. People with canned food will eventually run out of food unless they can grow some of their own food. Also I think that you have more survival skills than you are aware of.
You forgot the kitchen sink! You MUST understand the difference between want and need! For instance, you may want several changes of clothes, but for 72 hours do you really need more than what you're already wearing; an extra pair of socks being the exception because you must take care of your feet. Perhaps I missed it but it's very important to actually use what you have on a regular basis (minimum full ruck once per week) because this is the acid test for what you are carrying! Plus this is when you practice your needed skills not when you actually have to use them. For instance, fire building is easy under ideal conditions with matches or lighters but a ferro rod only produces sparks, a magnifying glass only works with good direct sunlight, friction fire is almost impossible under wet, cold conditions and all of these require good, dry tinder. Candles are great tender and have many other uses! Do NOT attempt to carry more than 25% of your body weight even if you're in good physical shape.
The term "victory garden" was more commonly used during World War II. Most, and the best, food went to the military. There were "meatless Tuesdays," etc. Special booklets of recipes gave this information to everyone.
I firmly believe that if our grandparents had not gone through the Great Depression they would not have been toughened enough to win WWII. Contrast that to the wimps today. They couldn't win a thumb wrestling match.
The young today would die. I remember not having air conditioning anywhere! Today kids have air conditioning in schools! We fixed things when they broke, we didn’t throw away. We made due with what we had. If we didn’t have the money, we did without. Vegans were what is known as bad hunters. The list goes on…
How sad that your country has dissolved into such a terrible state. Here in the USA we do have some "squatter" problems but people and communities are finally getting fed up with the criminals taking over.
Sir...do you actually know any amish? I married my husband whose family was amish. I live and shop among them. Have you ever spent a few days among them. ???
I was born in the 1930s and I can tell you that times were very hard. I pray everyday 🙏 for our country 🙏. I know how to grow food and to live without electricity and running water .I pray that it will not get that bad .listen to the older people they know what they are talking about. This video is tell you the truth. God bless you 🙏 and keep you safe 🙏
No, prep like the pioneers, during the depression, lots was still available, just not affordable, plus you didn't have bandits and native war parties. There will be roving bands of criminals this time, well armed and organized. Learn how the pioneers lived or die by whatever means. But no, this time will be the depression x 1000
All this would be great lessons IF TPTB hadn't studied these same lessons... They are closing down farms, making heirloom seeds illegal, digitizing money so there is no way to have quiet side occupations, so barter is criminalized . If Corporate America hadn't split families by creating middle management, which created only paper work, not goods and moved people across the country, separating them from their basic support of family and community. Otherwise these are good lessons.
I totally agree. Especially the part about how "jobs" split up families. I say this to my friends often how our families are split up and all over the country these days.
I keep all of this, as a matter of course. I also buy powdered ACV. Although we raise hens for eggs if things went sideways, my hens might be stolen, so I still keep powdered "whole" eggs on hand. I wax my own cheese and wax it for hanging.
IFAK, headlamp, good walking shoes, energy bars, water, properly programmed 'fang is great option too ( short range vhf uhf AND fm receiver), maps and lightweight tarp .rest is season specific.
Don't forget the Newest Outage culprit: Power Companies trying to avoid paying for the fires they cause... so, they just shut you down for 8 hours, 12, 24, 72 as long as they need. Also, remember these fire prevention outages are not Rolling Blackouts. Lots of different outages, so lots of different preps are important.
These techniques are not exclusive to the Amish -- these are techniques I was taught as a child in the UK. I was taught to grow veg/fruit plus make cheese, butter, bread. As well as carpentry, dressmaking/tailoring, french polishing, and many other skills that most people no longer use.
All you need is a wood stove for heat and cooking. And access to fresh water. No one in the city can do this. People out in the county with nearby water and trees. Have thr best chance of surviving.
