As far as color, if the ceiling and crown or cove molding up at the top are to remain white then I would opt for white. The white ties it with the crown and ceiling, while also providing more contrast with the wallpaper.

I think it is smart to make your cabinets look like shaker style cabinets. If they are in good shape it just makes sense and is way easier! Love the wall papers🥂

I noticed the addition of the trim on the kitchen cupboard, Carole! I like the idea of using the offcuts to create a shaker-style door. Inexpensive character additions usually end up better than an expensive redo. ❤

Imo, the twine color in a ever-so-slightly lighter shade is the more elegant option. I would mix three parts twine and one part china, with the long profile down to emphasize ceiling height.

I like the long part of the trim coming down in Bethany's room! ❤. I think it gives the illusion of height to the room.

I prefer the twine color with the long end coming down. But, the white with the short end coming down does look good too.

Before it was popular to have drawers for pots and pans in the US my daughter rented apartment that had gorgeous cabinetry and I love my pots and pans in a drawer . You can get to the back of your cupboard in other words and easily get things in and out there's dividers that you can have for your plates and your bowls 3:13 instead of reaching up and I don't like to have a lot of cabinets especially if you have an open kitchen that is galley style. Love a uncluttered look. Upper cabinets can make your space feel very small. It just depends on the size of the space you're working with.

I have just discovered William Morris and co! I bought a ‘Strawberry Thief’ floor rug for my lounge room and I absolutely love it! The wall paper would be great. The decorative features you are putting around the wall paper in the England house look so nice, as does the wall paper! I like the china white and longer vertical drop to make it look larger. Long coming down, twine, then white but it’s really a wash between the two colors. But the long across the top cuts the wall off from the ceiling. IMHO of course! 😄

If anything, just replacing the kitchen tile with a more modern backsplash would help improve it by 100%. I do like the framing and painting of the cabinets! You can also paint the countertops but if you want to splurge a bit, get butcher block and a new sink and still be way under budget than $9k for replacing all the cabinets?

With every episode the price of the Chateau increases.

Search for corrosion-resistant steel reinforcing bars with high (up to 6%) chromium content. They also tend to be higher tensile yield strength so that you may downsize to the next lower diameter. For balusters, I would suggest a No. 4 bar, which is approx. 6 mm diameter.

I have that same kitchen surface and ai should warn you that it does not wear well despite my oiling it.

What is the date by which you will decide to start working on the Chateau kitchen, if you've had no offers yet? It's an intensive enough project, would you pull it from the market for any amount of time to get through the first phase or two? I suppose it may not matter, since the temporary kitchen will still be in place and the new kitchen would be in process at the other end of the hall. However, the first thing is to get the flooring sorted (which is why I was surprised that Carole talked to the kitchen fitter already), I'm very curious to know what type of flooring you are considering for it. Also, I'm wondering if finishing the hallway has been struck from the list for the time being? The flooring needed to be redone and fixed/raised by the staircase, and the walls and skirting boards repaired. I know the kitchen is the most important thing from a selling standpoint.

I suggest buying a row of cabinets which could go over your existing cabinets to the ceiling. Thats a lot of unused space. In the US, in 3 years time gas stoves will be banned on new home builds. All electric cook tops and ovens will replace gas. Health Hazzard is reason.

There is nothing wrong with glamping. It was lovely to see the grandchildren and their mom. 70% off, wow. All in all, that to me is too much money for those cabinets. I guess if labor is included, it may be worth it. Perhaps you could sell Adrian for a few weeks.❤

The kitchen cabinets are going to be fab after you glue on the plastic moulding 'scraps' to make them appear like the "shaker" era design.🤗 You mentioned about having gold cabinet handles, are you planning to have all of the metal elements in the kitchen which are now chrome, changed to gold-plating (or spray-painted metallic gold) so that everything matches, OR are you going with 'mix and match' metallic gold and chrome? I guess it would be quite rare and costly to have a gold-plated refrigerator, kitchen sink with faucet, gold stove, (dish-washer?) Etc, etc. Probably best just to settle on chrome all around, OR paint it with high-quality, heat-resistant gold paint. (As if you don't have enough painting to do😅) Just a suggestion, YOU decide.😅 I have confidence that you will make it turn out beautifully whatever you choose! Great video again!👍
