You guys and Angry Snowboarder are the only tech/gear channels I watch for a reason. Solid

Personally, I use universal wax. It's reasonably cheap and scrapes off easy when preparing for the season. I use the same wax to do a hot wax clean.

Same here, the all temp waxes always do the job! 👍

After doing all this should I leave it by itself or put it in a hard shell travel case? Thanks

Up to you really. Just make sure it's stored in a cool dry place either way. 👍

Hi Peter, I wanted to ask you if you have ever tried/tested any Lobster boards and if so what do you think? I always follow your videos on the tube which I always find interesting and exhaustive. greetings from Italy

I haven’t had a chance to get on a Lobster or Bataleon board yet. Definitely interested to check one out.

Unfortunately it looks like we are currently sold out but a lot of retailers that sell ski/board tuning equipment have them.

Don't leave in the backyard. Note to self.

lol, definitely not. Unless your backyard is a cool dry place 😝

If I take my board to be serviced, are you saying the wax would dry over summer and might need to be redone? I store my board in a snowboard bag.

No, you just need to scrape it off before you ride next season. If you get a tune from a shop and they scrape it I wouldn't stress it, unless your leaving it in a hot garage or something lol.

If you take it somewhere to get a summer wax they should know better than to scrape it. But if they do it’s not the end of the world, just make sure to store it in a place that’s relatively cool and dry, in the bag or not.

I wonder if an automotive clay bar would help clean it too
@PeterGlennSports
@PeterGlennSports 4 месяца назад
Possibly but it might be a little overkill. Also the clay bars are lightly abrasive and made to remove contaminants from a car body and smooth it out. When you are cleaning the base you mainly want to just get the old wax and grime off/out of the base but not try and smooth it out. You do want a very slight texture to the base of your board so it can hold wax better. Even when a board gets a base grind to smooth out the scratches it's not a super fine sanding, so the base maintains a bit of that texture.

Hey Matt, what wax do you use? Thanks
@PeterGlennSports
@PeterGlennSports 4 месяца назад
I use a standard all temp wax, very similar to this Dakine High Octane wax-> www.peterglenn.com/product/dakine-high-octane-rub-wax-3?

@@PeterGlennSports I usually use some One Ball all temp but decided to try Purl Purple this year. Purl seems a bit harder to scrape, but also seems to hold up better. One Ball wins the best scent category with its multitude of scents including the "Big Lebowski" themed wax and food related scents. Who doesn't like to smell bacon, pizza or fruity pebbles while they wax? 😂

I got a brand new board, and will be riding it first time next season, do you recommend still doing storage wax?
@PeterGlennSports
@PeterGlennSports 4 месяца назад
If it’s a brand new board I wouldn’t worry about it. Applying wax over the factory wax is redundant and is just going to make more work for yourself in the long run. If it still has shrink wrap on it, leave it on but either way just make sure you store it in a cool, dry place until you’re ready to ride next season.
