Are you over 40 and experiencing decreased vision when reading books or newspapers? Do you need extra light to see clearly or find yourself removing your glasses to read?
If so, this video is for you.
In this video, Dr Radhika Torgal, a senior consultant at Shekar Eye Hospital, discusses presbyopia. Derived from the Greek word meaning "old eyes," presbyopia is the gradual loss of your eye’s ability to focus on nearby objects due to reduced lens flexibility and weakened ciliary muscles. This natural part of ageing typically begins in your early to mid-40s and worsens until age 65, often necessitating glasses. Options include near-vision glasses, bifocals, progressive lenses, and even laser correction surgery.
Consulting an eye doctor is crucial for early detection and treatment of any eye-related conditions.
