Preseason AP Top 25: Who's Ranked Too High and Who's Ranked Too Low?

The games that we're dogs in (according to Vegas) are less than 5 points, other than Texass. We could end up somewhere between 11-1 and 8-4. I'm leaning toward 9-3 and hope to be underrating them.

I think the difficult conference schedule is made up for by the weak out of conference schedule.

The Lower they’re ranked & the more conference wins they accomplish above where they’re ranked is a Plus if your life revolves around “Poles” Numerous years under Previous coaches they were highly ranked, sometimes #1, and where did they finish, and where did the Offense & Defense finish in the stats. Tells the Story.

With the schedule in front of us we could be out of the top 25 and still accomplish everything this team and the fans want. Just win baby!

Preseason rankings are always dumb, I say we do away with the AP and Coaches poll entirely and just use the CFP rankings beginning later in the season. I mean, we don't know squat about how teams compare until around then anyway, right? That being said, it does bother me that Texas is preseason ranked all the way up at #4 because I know OU will win in October. Like Ted said, though, there are a lot of chances to move up and that will be one of them.

Year 2 was better than year 1 for BV’s team. If year 3 is better than year 2, then I will be ok with whatever their record is. I like OU’s defense a lot, especially up the middle. They are elite at NT, LB, and S.

I hate to say this, but if we go 8-4 I will be ok with it. There are too many games that could go either way.

The winner between ORE and OSU could very well go undefeated.

I think Oklahoma and Tennessee are both about right . Our matchup is huge for both . I mean I don’t know how any other way to put that .

The games are still available. 😂 Ws and Ls will determine the ranking for most people. 😮 I however feel a team that has 2-3 losses maybe better than an undefeated or 1 loss team based on the teams played. I feel the SEC may have set this (schedule) up to give their idea of top teams a better chance of home game play offs 🫣🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

Remember when Oklahoma was ranked in the Top 5 every season under Barry, Bud & finished in the Top 5, Won their Bowl, Had Top 10 Defense’s & Offense’s Had One or Two All American’s on Defense & Offense. Stoops & Riley and the Three from the 90’s put an end to that With no Defense. Remember all the Boomer Sooner Horns on Cars & Trucks, they’ve also disappeared.
