For the 8th time, Presbyterian Boys Senior High School, Legon has won the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) grand finale. As 2022 champions, Presec Legon won back to back in 2023, making it the second time to have won back to back on the 30th anniversary of the NSMQ.

On the 10% rule question, it is a speed race question and she indicated that give your answer unambigiously. There is no partial mark for speed race questions.

Every round has it own rule The 10% answer rule was in the round 2 and the rule for that stage is the answer should be a complete one not partial That round only carries 3 points if the contestants gives a partial answer no point would be given

The Opoku Ware argument is that the question stated a LAW IN FOOD CHAIN and their answer, THE 10% LAW deserves the FULL MARK. They are not contesting the rules of the round, what they're saying is their answer deserved the full mark. Scanty or whoever being ignorant of the rules of R2 doesn't make the case of Opoku Ware less credible. The 10% law is a law in food chain and they deserved the full mark.

KSS the quiz mistress has never and will be bias....U have to be precise with your answers because thats the rule...So if u dont answer your question precisely and the quiz mistress rejects the answer that in no way suggests that shes bias As for her mannerisms, it is normal

No score was awarded to that response from OWAS because that round was the speed race. In that round if you attempt a question and answer wrongly, the other opponents stand a chance of answering correctly for the score. Just like the riddles, if you attempt first and the answer is not the same as what the quiz mistress is expecting, you’re out!

Leave those haters!!! Presec would have won more than 10 trophies if we should go by his assumptions. In 2021, Presec has the electric field question right but was denied the 3 points, with undue extra time given to PC for the problem of the day question that won the the controversial trophy. Thomas Aquinas was also favored and they won the trophy but Presec always take things in good faith and lives to fight another time. I was extremely shocked the 85.2 answer wasn't accepted because they rang the bell in time without interruption but we were told later....timed out but hypocrites aren't privy to that

The ‘of course’ was in reference to the answer given. As far as x,y plane are concerned, coordinates determine the position of x and y. That’s why she said “what else”? But the 10% rule demoralized the Owass boys

Presec's composure in NSMQ should be studied. Instead of other schools working hard and meet their standard, they rather stay back and fish out unnecessary arguments against Presec's dominance. In 2021 when Prempeh College locked their screen and denied Presec victory, didn't you see how Presec came the next year stronger, went against Prempeh College again in the finals and swept them off their feet? That's the attitude of a champion. It should be studied.

Sheldon, in 2021, Prempeh College won the NSMQ by beating Presec Legon and Ketasco. I quite remember that Presec also had some issues with the mistress after the final. I dont think she was bias towards Presec.

Secondly, Presec had a question right during the speed race and she refused to give it to them saying the 3sec has elapsed..but allowed owass to stress on some of their answers.

Bro the 'of course' she said is justified. If you understood the question, you wouldn't be complaining. "Coordinates" is the most obvious answer. Like that should literally be the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear a point on the x-y plane. So the "of course" isn't in support of presec. Guys you missed the point of the rules. The 3, 2, 1 partial points that were supposed to be awarded was not meant for a partial answer. She said if you answer on the first clue/statement u get 3 points, 2 points for the second, and 1 point for the 3rd and everything that comes after. Also do not forget that Presec was not awarded points because the bell went off after the 3-second rule while they were still answering the question and they actually got it right.

The 10% rule is not a universal principle that applies to all fields of study but is specific to ecology and the study of food chains and food webs in natural systems. It does not apply to other scientific disciplines or areas of study outside of ecology and environmental science. That is why they had to be specific.
