Washington Oxi Day Foundation Executive Director, Mike Manatos, presents the 2022 Oxi Service Award to George Poppas, who fought with the Greek resistance to the Nazi occupation during World War II and with the U.S. Army during the Korean War, at the 12th annual Oxi Service Awards held at the U.S. World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C., on October 27, 2022. The award was accepted by George Poppas' son, General Andrew Poppas, Commanding General of the United States Army Forces.
