Gerry Anderson created some of the world's most explosively colourful action series of the 1960s and '70s: Thunderbirds, Stingray, Captain Scarlet and Space:1999's vivid visuals stick in the mind long after viewing, their rich, multi-coloured imagery as memorable as their stories, performances and special effects.
But prior to Stingray Gerry produced three series in black and white - their only colour representation being a small number of on-set stills taken during production. Using these as a basis, key episodes of Four Feather Falls, Supercar and Fireball XL5 have been colourised from High Definition remasters using state-of-the-art software, enabling fans to see their favourite shows in a whole new way!

I had a toy fireball XL5 when I was kid. You filled it with water and attached a bicycle pump to it and pumped like mad. The rocket 🚀stood upright on its launch tower and when the pressure reached a certain level it took off into space. Well not quite space. But it did fly over the house 🏠 from the back garden to the front. I used to think the water stream behind it was pretty cool. When it landed often people would be walking past and get a freight. One old bloke loved ❤ it and asked for a go at launching it which I let him. A few days later he turned up with stirrup pump with a high pressure adaptor attached to it for me. Never knew who he was or seen him again. One of the best toys I ever had and then it vanished. 😢

That high pressure adaptor must have allowed it to break free of Earth's gravity lol. I was 9 years old when the series first aired on TV, and I loved it though I never had an actual model. Lucky you, even if it did disappear. And what a nice man to do that for you.

Very impressive, but still work needed on getting the actual colours right --there are colour promo photos etc from the time of Fireball XL5's initial showing and these should have been used to aid in getting the colours right. A potential complete colourization of the series in the future would only to be done once, so the colours need to be correct.

Yet again, Network come up with something else. The colours look consistent with the Gerry Anderson colour series, such as Thunderbirds and Captain Scarlet. Very good work and sure to be of interest to many, including myself.
