Peace and diplomacy is important, locally and globally. It's worthwhile. Handling differences between groups and coming to agreement on key priorities, which is mutually important is important. That cannot easily be done by blaming and pressuring other groups or countries. It can be more easily done through patient, step-by-step dialogue and exchange based on mutual respect, willingness to listen, understand and openness to finding third ways between positions. There must also be mutual responsibility, self-reflection and a commitment to the dialogue process. Difficult and complex, yet, yet still possible and worthwhile.
No. 1, it is admiral, not general. No.2. In US, any rank above a brigadier or rear admiral is a political position. One has to kiss ass, back stab, build patronage to get there. Propaganda or messaging is part of the job
yesh, after Chinese defense minister said twice China doesn't want to use military means to take Taiwan, Mr. Aquilino comes in and does tough talks, yowser. Whatever happened to the military doesn't get involved in politics.
The lack of direct conversations between military leaders is of concern. What the Chinese are planning is unknown when candid discussions will often be disclosed to the extent possible. That means the Chinese may be planning something about Taiwan...it is not the South China Sea. Taiwan is China's top priority.
All countries, including the US and China, should commit to and be accountable to global UN security, peace and related agreements. They also need to understand that their cultures are different so some flexibility and mutual understanding, as a starting point is vital...
After he made this clearest statement, there are still two questions the U.S. need to answer. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6XcCLCd7x1Y.html😆
Papua New Guinea...it is good to see the US getting more involved. Years ago, the Chinese paid a good-will naval visit that lasted a week and they sent a naval vessel that was capable for far more than just a port call. When they left, they sailed through the seas among the PNG islands and one can only guess why they did that.
Do you think Xi Jinping cares about his people? The Chinese Communist Party has shown that they are willing to let tens of millions of Chinese people starve to death just to satisfy Mao Zedong's preferences. If you are advocating for war, please make sure to target the Communist Party members precisely, instead of the already suffering Chinese people. Please unite with allies to isolate the Chinese Communist Party economically and confiscate the assets of Communist Party members in the United States. It is an effective way to exert pressure and impose constraints.
Very true, this US China Relation Committee is very disconnected from the reality of modern day Chinese people, very failed conclusion developed from poor observations. To the Chinese people nobody is more important than their kids, ok, today, CCP won't be able to draft boys from homes at all, because people would kill to prevent that. Chinese today aren't like how they were and the Chinese government is very aware of that right now, young people don't even wanna work or get married, you want them to go to war, good luck.
Most experts talk of a Normandy type of amphibious landing. My view is that the southernmost port of Kaoshiung is the most attractive place for the Chinese to land and seize. It is at the furthest point from Taipei and the small Taiwanese force cannot be concentrated at defending Kaoshiung. A large container port will allow for massive influx of naval and civilian vessels to land massive land forces. China will declare Kaoshiung as the Interim Capital of Taiwan and move northwards. They do not need any amphibious landing. Plus the Taiwan Straits is not rough seas except in winter.
"blood and treasure" ...wow...the Admiral probably has read much about Chinese history and the expressions that Chinese use. This is an emotional phrase and the Chinese does know what it means.
One thing I have learned is it is incredibly difficult for Americans to understand Chinese, but there's no problem for Chinese to understand American and take advantages of it. Chinese genuinely are more willing to learn about the West overall, but Americans cannot get off that superiority podium even when they say they try.
Ai is the beginning of the industrial revolution. Food, clothing, housing and transportation need AI. Don’t doubt that the heart of mankind is in Taiwan. AI, the global supply chain, is irreplaceable and unique. It is also the core of the global alliance of high-tech countries.
He is not the highest ranking officer in the US Military and yet he has spoken so bluntly...no Chinese general has ever spoken that bluntly. China will probably respond as the speech is truly hard-hitting and is aimed directly at their supreme leader, Xi.
A hard-hitting speech that triumphs over what Blinken, Austin and Milley have ever spoken. This guy is aiming for much higher positions. He can be the next Secretary of Defence. He has not minced his words and attacks directly Xi...something that even Biden has not spoken so bluntly.
China probably realizes that delay in taking back Taiwan can only lead to more such speeches and formation of more military cooperation in the Pacific region and Indian Ocean region.

Since the enactment of China's anti-espionage law, there have been many cases of foreigners being detained or arrested in China. Because "suspicious espionage" is mainly handled not only by public security but also by the National Security Agency, the interrogation is the most severe and the detention environment is inhumane. Following the passage of the Anti-Espionage Law, the local government's National Security Office enacted rules encouraging reporting of "espionage." Since 2017, the Beijing Municipal State Security Bureau has been offering rewards of up to 500,000 yuan (8.5 million yen; 645,400 US dollars) to encourage the informant system. 🇯🇵🇺🇦🇹🇼🇱🇹🇨🇦🇺🇸🇯🇵 It is a situation in which even Chinese people can be accused of "violating the law" simply by contributing to foreign newspapers or responding to interviews on foreign television. 🇯🇵🇺🇦🇹🇼🇱🇹🇨🇦🇺🇸🇯🇵 Anti-espionage law (Counter-espionage Law) is a law that regulates activities such as the National Security Agency, which was enacted in 2014 to crack down on "espionage activities". At the end of 2022, the Chinese government expanded the definition of "espionage" from the current law. He announced a plan to expand the "anti-espionage law" to strengthen the authority of the National Security Agency, which leads the crackdown, and penalties for those arrested. An expanded anti-espionage law is expected to be passed in the summer of 2023. The proposed expansion of the Anti-Espionage Law requires that state secret information be provided to a third party in a concrete manner as it is, and that documents and materials related to state secrets that may adversely affect national security or interests. Providing and "stealing" will also fall under "espionage". 🇯🇵🇺🇦🇹🇼🇱🇹🇨🇦🇺🇸🇯🇵 The proposed expansion of the "anti-espionage law" would greatly increase the powers of the National Security Agency, the agency that is responsible for the investigation, and could, for example, force tests on those targeted for "espionage" and ban them from leaving the country. Depending on the judgment of the National Security Agency, an extremely wide range of "information leaks" will be covered, and cases such as public information leaked from private companies and public institutions that do not comply with the intentions of the National Security Agency will be exposed. And if a person refuses an information request from the National Security Agency for "espionage" by a colleague or another person, that person can at least be fined. The proposed expansion of the "anti-espionage law" would allow the Chinese government to unfairly detain Japanese and foreigners in China, increasing scrutiny of Japanese and foreigners in China. 🇯🇵🇺🇦🇹🇼🇱🇹🇨🇦🇺🇸🇯🇵 A university professor was suddenly detained just before returning to Japan, and an appeal by a Japanese sentenced to prison was easily dismissed by the court. As the number of people has increased, the number of Japanese and foreigners who will be arrested will increase in the future due to the expansion of the definition of the "anti-espionage law". The Chinese government will give the State Security Agency the power to search the bags of those suspected of "espionage" and to bar citizens from leaving the country who may "endanger" national security. A “fine” is imposed for refusing to provide evidence of spying on others. 🇯🇵🇺🇦🇹🇼🇱🇹🇨🇦🇺🇸🇯🇵 In addition to the provision of "state secrets" under the current law, the proposed expansion of "espionage" includes "stealing" and "collecting" "other documents, data, materials, and goods related to national security and interests, etc. There is no mention of what is contrary to national security or interests. Collecting information about Chinese companies and collecting historical materials are also considered "espionage" if the National Security Administration determines that they are against "national interests." In the political report of the Communist Party Congress in October last year, Xi Jinping repeatedly referred to “national security,” calling on party members to “perform a comprehensive view of national security.” This "security view" presented in 2014 covers 11 items, including "politics," national land, military affairs, economy, and "culture." “Political security” refers to the maintenance and stability of the Communist Party regime. In China, where there is no alternative to the Communist Party, there is a perception that if the party loses power, the country will split and fall into chaos. 🇯🇵🇺🇦🇱🇹🇨🇦🇺🇸🇯🇵 The powers of the National Security Agency are endlessly strengthened. The expanded proposal stipulates that electronic devices, equipment and programs of persons or organizations suspected of espionage can also be investigated. Many researchers and business people with connections to China will be affected by the proposed expansion. There are 17 Japanese detained in connection with the "anti-espionage law." In the future, this number will undoubtedly increase. Foreign researchers may be detained if they conduct research in China. Xi Jinping has strengthened his stance of emphasizing "national security," but the definition is ambiguous, and the government's arbitrary judgment is subject to exposure. In China, the Communist Party exists above the law. The proposed expansion of the "anti-espionage law" plays a greater role in keeping things out of China. Japanese and foreigners visiting China run the risk of being detained. 🇯🇵🇺🇦🇹🇼🇱🇹🇨🇦🇺🇸🇯🇵 In China, (1) the state can force Chinese nationals at home and abroad to carry out military activities in their respective countries (National Defense Mobilization Law, effective in 2010); (2) the state can force Chinese nationals at home and abroad to do spy activities in their respective countries. (National Intelligence Law, effective 2017). Chinese citizens who do not follow the instructions and orders of the Chinese government will be arrested and have no option to decline. Together, these two laws create the most dangerous security situation for every country. 🇯🇵🇺🇦🇹🇼🇱🇹🇨🇦🇺🇸🇯🇵 The world will decouple from China and Russia. The world will put the most severe economic sanctios on China as we do on Russia. 🇯🇵🇺🇦🇹🇼🇱🇹🇺🇸🇬🇧🇨🇦🇪🇺🇯🇵
Do other people also wonder what exactly is the rules based order and what are exactly the rules? And by who are they set up because all over the world people have not participated in setting up those rules and also nobody knows what those rules actually are as they seem to be changing from country to country and there is not a single paper what shows it somewhere. Should China's defense budget not be 4-5 times of what the US war budget is? I mean the population is 4-5 times larger than the US and they have more land mass to defend and a constant threat of the US sailing and flying their and the us military buildup and we all know what that means as the US is the most aggressive country in the world and it is containing China with 400 military bases so shouldn't China have spend much more? Even if they doubled this budget they still don't even come close to that of the US! So why are we worried about that and not about US war budget who is constantly in wars starting wars and provoking others in wars something that China doesn't do at all? Taiwan did wake up after Ukraine the sentiment is the following the US pulled Ukraine into a proxy war and ukrain thoughtt the us would help however all the US done for them is sell them weapons and buy their ground and land. Then the question now is in Taiwan do we want that for us to die in an American proxy war so the US can take our land over just like they doing now to Ukraine? And for the rest of the world and then am talking about the other 84-86% because western nations never count that view in showed what their take is on the Ukraine war by not adhering to the illegal unilateral sanctions set by the US and also by dedoloarizing and more and more applying to BRICS whatever it means you can make that up for yourself.
the US military budget cover for other allies such as protecting EU, Middle East, Japan, Taiwan and Korea while the China military budget just for herself
@@lejeffrey229 Why protect Taiwan from what as Taiwan is a prt of China as recognized by the USA! So that doesn't make any sense at all. Also it goes against the agreement made in the three communique with China but the US lying or not upholding its agreements is nothing new. There is nothing to protect in the Middle east the only reason why there are wars is because of the USA so if the middle east needs any protection it would be against the USA not by the USA! Japan is not under any threat protect it from what? South Korea is debatable whether or not it has a threat. But if you want to remove the treat if there is any they should reunify not military actions! And definitely not involve another country! The only reason why the USA has all these military bases is to exercise their hegemony and keep it that way and to force and coerce other countries to do as they say not as they do. It is also used to threaten other nations like the encirclement of China!
china should send warships 12 miles off california coast according to the unclos (that these yankees didnt even ratify) 😂 what happened to usa man, they just be letting anyone get degrees and be admirals lmao
even the idea of Indo-Pacific security when literally the ASEAN will be war theatre 😂 ask any SEA nation if they care about trade or relations or anything with India or Australia lmao China is already deeply entrenched in ASEAN’s economies dawg 😅
