using every worm i dig is all about being able to preserve them and this is the best way that i have found of doing it, iv added a very short bit on bait pumping for some people that have requested it
Hi there Gaz, Great video, thanks. Cooking worms prior to freezing Amazing. Is that a local tactic? What pump is that you are using? Brilliant, thanks.
This virus is having Benifits after all. The wife is not so keen on the idea of cooking worms. Ha ho. We will be doing your potatoes and sole receipe. Thanks again. Stay safe.
Hia mark go on tides that are over 8m as smaller tides won't on over the beds that much, you should see cast all the way along the front mainly in patches tho, I find they pump better as the tide turns just don't get cut off, if you need anymore advice give me a shout
@@lifeofgazfishing1873 cheers mate could do with meeting up with you one weekend im only in bolton, ive just bought a pump so need to use it at some point cheers pal
@@MarkPerry-fk1ot iv not had any time to fish in ages life just got to busy unfortunately, new pumps are hard to start with after a bit of use they go really nice and easy just need to ware the washers in a bit first
Hia man I squeeze them from the tail end to the head tha the guts pop out the head end or I hit the against the side of the pump and that dose it as well when you do it you will the the insides come out yellow and orange stuff
@@lifeofgazfishing1873 Thanks for that Gaz. I went this evening to dig. After an hour I got two 3" lugs, & 3 rags all about 2mm in diameter. There were casts everywhere. I then thought to myself fuck this for a game of soldiers, I'll buy them from the bait shop from now on lol. I whacked a lug against the fork shaft & it snapped in half :-/ I'll get a pump & give it another go soon, but digging isn't for me ;-)
@@FowkesSteve yeah you can't hit them to hard and yeah there not easy untill you get good at it but try going out to low tide and on bigger tides cus more of the bed will uncover and give you a better chance
@@lifeofgazfishing1873 I'll be up and down from the gynn to Fleetwood. Saw a nice coley come out just under rosalls crooked watch tower the other day, only couple of lb but lovely colouring. Is it OK for the pump or do you need a fork? 😭 Lol
I was sceptical about this as well but I tried it about 3 years a go and they held up better than any other frozen IV tried and I had more fish on them so I now only use these if I can't get fresh
hi karl gutting is what im doing when I pop the worm to take out the insides for worms that im going to keep in papers this will make the worm last longer up to a week sometimes in the fridge and worm were the guts are left in are called swimmers round here and are great bait but don't last as long so I use them the day there dug if I can
that's not a problem happy to help, iv tried to blanch them without gutting first but they didn't work as well but black, yellow tails, and blow lug all blanch well if gutted first
Yeah same I never put them in my pocket 😂 I do them this way because they hold up as a better bait for longer and still catch better than any other frozen lug for me
Lol my wife is always out if I'm doing it and I keep all the doors and windows open, as for blanching them they make for a much better bait and last a lot longer on the hook for me anyway
@@lifeofgazfishing1873 I found they just turn to mush , I tried every method and then some but best fresh is best , just clean them and nice bit of clean sand they last a day or 2 , straight on the bait needle and on the hook and they fat and juicy .as say anything can be frozen but they just fall apart ,they nothing like blacks
iv found the same until I did it this way but when I do it I blanch and freeze with in an hour or two of being collected I do prefer fresh but there are time when I cant get out to get them so these are by back up having said that im doing a fresh vs frozen fish offs here is the firs one ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6_VxmoOm3ds.html
