Stephanie you should really look into freeze drying food. Maybe you can get someone to send you one to try out. I’ve seen the results of people using one and it is really awesome and could keep your food fresh for 2 years and more. Just a suggestion. Just read up on it. 💕

Wow Steph, that is amazing. I have a dehydrator and it would be great to be able to enjoy the flavor of fresh lemons or limes in the winter. I would grind up some of the dried ones into a coarse powder and store in airtight container like yours then take a spoon of it to add to hot water or tea. I have a dehydrator so when I see a sale on lemons or limes (they are not cheap here in the northern states) I’m going to do that. Right now my tomatoes are ripening and I’m busy with those. Thanks again for another great idea!

You are such an amazing innovator in the kitchen and garden. The lemon/honey lollipops/stir sticks are genius. My brother-in-law had a 5 level dehydrator which he loved using. One evening he sat down and sliced up a large bag of jalapeños and put them in the dehydrator to dehydrate overnight. I just happened to be down visiting at the time. About 2 hours after he finished putting the jalapeños in the dehydrator we finished watching a movie and retired for the night. The next morning upon opening our bedroom doors all you could smell was jalapeños and it was so strong our eyes were watering and we were sneezing. My brother-in-law opened every window in the house then we drove to town to have breakfast. When we got home my sister and I took our coffee and sat on the patio outside while my brother-in-law vacuumed sealed his dehydrated jalapeños. He never dehydrated jalapeños in the house again 🤣🤣🤣 ❤️🙏

I love my infared oven. It makes the best roast chicken. I’ve never thought about dehydrating in it. I love the ease of cleaning it. You just wipe out the juices left and then put a little dish soap and hot water, put the lid back on and let it run just a little, the water will swirl around and after a while you empty the water, run a dish cloth around a little and then rinse. It is great in your RV.

You absolutely need a freeze dryer!! I would love to have one. Brooke has done turnip greens, tomatoes, watermelon, peeps, even cut a ice cream sandwich into bite size pieces!!! Everything turns out great and this stuff came last 20 years if they can stop eating it. Harvest Right Freeze Dryer is the name. Oh strawberries and peaches, I would never can anything any more and nothing would go bad until I’m gone or remember what I had. You would be doing that all the time. You can eat it freeze dried or just put it water to rehydrate it.

Cool I've thought about getting one of these as they are more readily available here in UK and not too expensive as the freeze dryer which is very expensive and not many places sell them,I read dehydrated food last 12 months and freeze dried last 25 year's,I'm not sure what foods can be dehydrated yet so I might have to look into it more first, I look forward to seeing you make the lemon and honey stick's ♥️👋🇬🇧
