The gentleman who joined Col. Puckett toward the end before they left the stage is my Uncle Merle, who served with him in Korea as an Army Ranger. He is 91 years old.

I was so moved by this ceremony today; it reminded me of stories my Dad shared with me as a Ranger in Korean War. Colonel Ralph Puckett is truly an American Hero.

My Grandfather was a paratrooper in Korea. His brave service alongside men like Colonel Puckett shows they are the strength of this country. They're heroes, not "suckers and losers."

@@roodivalentino2416 I am grateful that America intervened because my parents are from Korea and they survived the war. The North Korean army was seeking to massacre Christians including my father's family and if it were not for the UN forces, none of us would be living today. I know my personal family history mate! My parents lives through it. They were eye witnesses to what happened.

Well, you forgot to mention that, today, there are quite a few, ungrateful anti-Americans among Koreans in Korea and Korean-Americans in America, particularly from the Cholla Province of South Korea, who audaciously blame America for the Korean War, not North Korea.

All South Koreans feel a debt of gratitude for men and women like this who served from the US armed forces. South Korea today is only possible because of the sacrifice of soldiers like this. As a Korean American I am keenly aware of this bond born in blood between my motherland and my homeland. We have to honor these folks from what many call the Forgotten War. God bless him and God bless America and may South Korea's friendship with America be everlasting.

There is fundamental difference between the US troops staying in S Korea and Japan. You will see S Korean president giving medals to US troops served in Korean war but you won't see Japanese prime minister giving medals to US troops for fighting Japanese during WW2. US troops are staying in S Korea not just for S Korean defense but also defense of the US from N Korean and Chinese ICBM because radars in S Korea will detect them 30 min before radar stations in Alaska giving enough time to intercept them. Also the US bases in Japan are in threat by Russian missiles but Russia will not attack US bases in S Korea because both S Korea and Russia has good relationship.
