I agree we shouldn’t have religious bias in our foreign policy, but that’s not a good argument against Biden’s actions - his support for a two-state solution makes more sense from a nonreligious perspective. Israel and Palestine are in large-scale crises right now, and we can work with other countries to keep people safe, and if we can help save civilians, we should.
The war between Palestinians and Israelis is not, nor has it ever been, about religion, and framing it that way artificially abstracts the conflict as a matter of perspectives that could never be resolved. Not all Palestinians are Muslim, for example. Quite a few of them are Christian and even Jewish. The conflict is about land. It has always been about land, and the resources that come from the land. And issues pertaining to resource-scarcity are chiefly resolved when there is a willingness to share them.

If we brokered a deal with Ukraine not joining NATO that would have prevented War #1. To prevent War #2 all we had to do was literally continue the existing policies we already had in place namely producing oil here, and sanctioning Iran. The comment section sounds is quite disheartening. While it is clear that while many have their own private outrage and canned conspiracies, it is equally clear that they do not have capability to be objective enough to see the other side and this definitely is happening on all sides. So rather than have a conversation they just scream past each other. while I am sure it makes them feel good, it only raises the temperature and cause people to be less capable of rational sober conversation with the aim of getting to the bottom of all of this. Even if you hear the speech properly, there are so many fallacies: 1. “Hamas doesn’t represent Palestinians.” But we need America to continue funding war in Israel which is air striking Gaza with 2.3 million Palestinians (not targeting Hamas militants but indiscriminate bombing all over Gaza). 2. Ukraine is fighting Russia to defeat the aggressors occupying Ukrainian lands and their values. But we need to support Israel in occupying the land of Palestine and strengthening Israel’s apartheid regime. 3. “American values are what make us a partner of other nations who want to work with.” But look the other way when international laws against genocide, war crimes, siege of food, water and power are broken by Israel. 4. “All Ukraine is asking for is our help with weapons from the US stockpiles.” All we are asking for is a ceasefire. To let humanitarian aid flow into Gaza. Food, water and hospital supplies. My comment here is not to aggravate anyone, but to simply ask for better standards for humanity. I was giving Joe all 5 stars until he got to the part about how great it is for the American economy to make new advanced weapons and give our old stuff away. Member that time during the Soviet-Afghan war (US-Russian proxy war) when we armed the Mujahidin to fight the soviets (when Ukraine was still part of the USSR), then the Taliban stepped in? And then that time we spent 25 years in Afghanistan fighting the Taliban (I forget why), then we left and the Taliban stepped in. The important part is that now girls can go to school and women can drive and vote in Afghanistan....and we got to make bigger and better weapons.
