Nice radio. CB sales must be going very well for President to keep coming out with new models. Love that it has CTCSS & DCS tones. Glad I held off on getting a McKinley II.
Very nice radio! I was debating with myself which of the President radios I wanted to get. It was really down to a coin toss between the McKinley and the George. I ended up picking the McKinley primarily because it has a front firing speaker, but I really love the styling of the George and the built in USB charging port. I use my McKinley predominantly in a base station role
Im hoping something can be done to atleast unlock clarifier for ssb Fm inly good for extra channels Use A channdls for FM it will dork good nornal 40 to cluttered
You’re probably thinking of the George 2 the EU version. This is the USA version that has no sub bands or channels. But. The clarifier is possible we shall see. I’m sure some technician will figure it out. 73’s
Thank you for watching. I really love hearing from my viewers and subscribers. I am trying to build a friendly community on my RU-vid Channel here. To answer your Question, President Reached out to me 3 years ago to Review Their 11 meter Products. I accepted and there you go. Back in 2017 I purchased two McKinley's AM/SSB radios. I did a lot of research on that radio and the Uniden 980 that was out at the time. I Chose President. And loved That original McKinley so much I bought another one. So that is where the Passion for This company came from. I am honored to make these videos for the world. My Channel is a tiny drop in the bucket, But we have a great group of Subscriber and viewers who comment and chat. So That's a bit about that and I hope you and yours have a Merry Christmas. Remember to always be yourself and help others when you can. 73's. Hope to hear from you again .
Thank you very much. That was an excellent reply and you sir are a true gentleman. I'm hoping a lot more cb operators will catch on and be gentleman and ladies to that makes the hobby much more entertaining and fun. Nothing against ham radio but I'll stick with 11 meters take care and 73s who knows maby one day I will get the pleasure to cq with you on ssb. Have the merriest Christmas and may you continue to be blessed.
@@rodneyhodge652 if you’re asking that means you don’t know how to. (Me either.) The guys who talk on that frequency are usually using Ham HF radios, modified for 11 meter. So if that’s what you need. Then that’s what you need.
I mean my meter could be off. It’s no bird meter. 3 watts dk for you. That’s about right for president. I know there is a menu video on YT. For the radio to tweek am pwr and such. Just make sure you write down the stock settings before you adjust 73
Yes it does. And mines about 2 watts or so on low power. Two watts usually is the sweet spot for heaters. The radio has talkback too. You know what I am really impressed with is the NRC button for receive , transmit or both. The Noise Reduction Circuit is Amazing on receive It is another form of filtering that cuts the hash out. Hope this helps you out.
About the same. Honestly I like this George FCC better But that's me. I run them barefoot. And if someone is going to tune them or detune for heat then it doesn't really matter, as long as the modulation is good.
as with all modern cb radios it has anoying high s meter reading , if you have s-0-1 noise floor on other radios the george will show a s4 - 7 noise floor
Funny you mention this. In my neighborhood there must be millions on LED Christmas lights upon everyone’s front lawns. String lights are notoriously known for leaking RFI. For the last 3 weeks I have noticed more and more noise on 10, 11, and 12 meter bands. A high noise floor is not the usual for my area. So I imagine it will subside after New Year’s. In the case of the RF gain on the George, there are 10 settings I have it wide open in this video. I turned the RF gain down to 9 one notch back and that dropped the noise floor 2 db. Doing so did not eliminate my ability to hear weaker stations. I think CB guys forget to use RF gain. Also using the filters like NB and ANL or high cut will help during the holiday season. 73. Thanks for your feedback.
@@mikecricket113 the LP-100A. Even better accuracy than a BIRD. You need something that is powered to accurately measure true PEP. Also most Watt meters on the market including BIRD actually have a pretty wide tolerance so the power measurement may not be as accurate as some people think
