Shaykh Hamza Yusuf's poem: The sun solemnly stated, "how can my light compare to his?" And the moon laughed, "be like me: content to reveal another's light! " The north star declared, "what guidance can I provide next to his?" And all the stars exclaimed, "be like us, who revolve around you and show no envy." The sea shouted, "what secrets can I contain when compared to his wonders?" The clouds pleaded, "be like us: exalted in the sky because we humbly draw our water from another, and pour forth in gratitude and service." The rose ruefully remarked, "what beauty do I have next to his?" The mirror said "be like me, who can only reflect another's beauty." Reason exclaimed: "what wisdom can I reveal next to his revelation?" The tongue replied: "be still, and let me quote him." Gold complained "what worth do I have next to his?" Copper cried: "What ingratitude! Your purity was his from the start. Be happy to be compared to him!" The dog barked "he mentioned me", The cat meowed "he petted me", The donkey brayed "he rode on me", The horse neighed "he called me an ocean", The camel grunted " I took him to safety ", The frog croaked "I was his favourite", The spider stood tall on eight legs and said "I protected him once", The cloud boasted "I shaded him" The tree declared "he called me and I bowed to him" The palm trunk said "well, he hugged me", The date gloated "I was sweet for him", Milk exalted "I nourished him", Water crowed "I quenched his thirst", The Kaaba shouted "he circled me", The Yemeni corner cried "he touched me", The black stone laughed and said, "he kissed me", The pebbles yelled "we praised God in his palm", The mountains of Mecca called out "he loved us", Medina demurely whispered, "he chose me!" And humanity cried " Nafsi! Nafsi! Me! Me!", And God said "be like Ahmadص!" And Ahmad ص said "Ummati! Ummati! My community! My community!", And God replied, "We will grant you until you are content!"
This is Masha Allah such a beautiful lecture. I could make a quote image out of each and every one of Shaykh's statements. If this is how a scholar of Akhiruzzaman is like. Imagine how the early scholars were ! SubhanAllah !
Yes you are so correct. I love listening to Hamza Yusuf. Can you picture Prophet Muhammad passing on his gifts from Allah to his guests and future followers to the right path. How lucky we are to have Hamza sharing his knowledge and discoveries of Islam. May Allah protect him from all that is evil. May Allah bless and protect all Islamic brothers and sisters. May we all have fun and joy being Muslim. 🙏☝️☪️❤️.
Tears rolling down my cheeks... Thank you for a loving speach and what a wonderfull poem at the end. From one heart to another. May Allah and his Prophet be proud of you and may Allah bless you and your loved ones and protect you from all evil in this life and the next. Allahuma amin 🤲❤

1:12:00 Never in my life has a poem had such a profound impact on me. I listened to it three times and cried my eyes out all times. Bless you sheikh, and may we be united with our most beloved messenger SAW on the day of judgement.
اللهم صل وسلم وبارك علي سيدنا محمد وآله وصحبه أجمعين The poem on our beloved Prophet Muhammad ﷺ made me cry so much that I am unable to express my gratitude to Sheikh. O Lord preserve our Sheikh. Aamin
I can see myself in the future, where I sit before this noble syeikh, among his students, taking notes with my pen and notebook, listening to every word he says....
A saying among the great scholars: It’s said that: ‘Knowledge has three spans [or stretches]: Whomsoever enters the first stretch becomes puffed up with pride; whoever enters the second is humbled; while whoever enters the third realises they know nothing
Listening Shayk Hamza is so fulfilling; May Allah increase him and make us beneficiaries of his knowledge. He’s the epitome of Islamic scholarship, May He get a befitting poem that he deserves.
Crying after poem. Heart exploding with gratitude to have heard it and to live in a time where Allah swt wants me to do more. Alhumdulillah for this lecture.
I do not remember ever been so attentive to every word of someone’s talk like when Allah blessed me to listen to the superb talk of Sheikh Hamza Yousef. Barak Allah feek. Ameen . ❤

Sh. Hamza always gives most excellent discourses , one will always benefit from him ... Sh. Hamza is truely a treasure for us Muslims that were born in the UK / USA / AUS ( the west ) . May Allah preserve him .
MashAllah Sheikh Hamza Yusuf is one of the greatest scholars of our time ( though he don’t like to be called a scholar) out of his humbleness Hos lectures are like a therapy to me, he helped me and many people become closer to Allah. The poem was spectacular so touchy ♥️♥️
This is the most amazing lecture ive ever heard. I was enthralled from the startt. Alhamdulilah. Thank you Shaykh Hamza Yusef for sharing your heart with us. Alhamdulilah
I am humbled and feel so calm after listening to-this lecture. So true that our minds are so overwhelmed with worldly stuff .True internet is the net, but it depends with what kinds of things one will get busy with. Unfortunately, these days we learn this skill at very late age.
Subhanallah jazakallah khairan kasiran for the beautiful wisdom shared and such lovely poem recited! May Allah bless prophet muhammad, his family, all his companions & those who sincerely love him in the name of Allah the Most Merciful, The Most Beneficient, The All Mighty.. aamiin ya rabbal a’lamiin❤❤❤❤
Two questions I would love to ask Syeikh Hamza Yusuf, if ever he entertains questions posted down here in the comments section. 1. How does one try to make peace and forgives someone, who has breached our privacy and tried playing god in our lives? How will I know this someone will change his ways even after we have made peace with them, and forgiven them? Will I find solace in forgiving them, yet knowing they won't change in their ways? Yes, in this age of technology and the internet, and with the easy breach of privacy rights, I know we should not fear what people see us do, but fear that Allah sees all that we do every single second of every single day. But sometimes they say ignorance is bliss. There are things best left unknown. So how can we wrap our minds around people who are busybodies and tries to play Zeus and control our lives with what they know of what we do of anything online? How do we face people like this? Is there a remedy to the unease and unrest that grows in this heart, from facing individuals like this? 2. How does one make peace with siblings that are good and kind and decently responsible, but have never tried to make a proper living or strives to make a proper living for the sake of simply gathering valuable experience? How do we stay at peace with them who stays so for years, with no resolutions of change. Perhaps an ambition to build a family of their own and accomplish one of the sunnahs of the Prophet (pbuh). But year after year, never any changes could be seen. They remain kind, polite, and responsible. But akin to living in their own bubbles of comfort zone, never aspiring to some other changes that might even inspire their younger siblings to better changes as well..How does one's heart stay in harmony with people like this? I seek answers to these questions. Because I am tired of harboring discontent living under the same roof with these groups of people. I aspire for positive changes, for the sake of those I love and cherish around me. But I believe a bit of change won't hurt them either. But I could use some sound wisdom on navigating my way to make peace with these kinds of people.
A’Salamu Alaykum. Allah is in control of everything so let go of your expectations for them I would suggest and accept them as their are and just keep making constant dua for them and be a great role model and a reminder of what Allahs generosity and rahma does for people in achieving their goals and living a purposeful content peaceful life in sha Allah.
Subhaanallaah, what an inspiration, heartfelt poem I feel the prophet SAWS warm smile upon you, may Allah be plzd with your amazing effort, keep us all in your duas Shaykh Hamza
Ma shaa Allah ! Ma shaa Allah! Mind blowing indeed! May you be rewarded tremendously sheikh. The speech ended all too sudden! I could listen to it over and over again! Especially the poem section. Iam sure it needed a lot of determination, organizing, planning . Let us in shaa Allah meet in Janna, united with the Rahmatan lil alamiin. Allahumma Ameen
Aslm, i was thinking the other day about saying, "sayed" because the sheikh at my Masjid did not say at but when i started to implement it saying muhamed (saw) without the sayed it felt strange because there wasnt that sense of reverence for the Nabi (saw). Thank you for the clarity. May Allah reward you for your efforts ameen
I heard many stories of Muslims in prisons here in the US surviving and thriving because they have a strict structure with security Amirs ect. It exhibits a true brotherhood. I am a convert and my cousin spent most of his life in prison, when I converted he said Muslims run the prisons. I was really surprised until later his statements were confirmed when I saw documentaries of Muslims actually wanting to go back to prison because of the tight knit community and brotherhood. SubponaAllah May Allah give us a beautiful tight knit community in all the lands and increase our love for the Ummah and the Prophet ﷺ Ameen
May Allah reward you! And Allah make us from the moderate (the middle) people. We❤the prophet. May Allah grant us to see him in our dreams. Ameen. We ❤❤❤❤ يا محمد
