I have the circa 1995 black version bought new from Waterford radios. County Wexford Rep. of Ireland.. I had that Jackson and a 1981 Teaberry Stalker 9FDX Totally recapped. It made a significant difference to the all round performance. Particularly on the RX.. Love these old multi mode CB Radios..Thanks for the upload..
I just acquired this exact same radio today! No markings on the front, just like yours. But, someone did put a little sticker on the face, right above the channel selector that reads Jackson. Kinda cheesy, but oh well. This one I acquired is going to need some attention. Hopefully it can be fixed back up!
These were sold with the name on them and without the name on them. I bought one exactly like yours in the mid 80's. Exact board as the labeled version. Same radio in every way. Came in a plain white box with manual and mounting bracket plus microphone of course. Was one hell of a ssb radio. No drift after few minutes warm up. Had the mrf477 transistor in it with heatsink. Wished I had never sold it years later when I took a break from radio hobby. Found a superstar 360fm, same as cobra 148gtl dx model at local thrift store recently for 5 dollars. Looks kinda rough but works great. Only 3 bands but all mode with uniden pb010ab board in it. Stable on ssb, and great ssb radio. Wished I could find a few more as these too were popular in their day.
It excellent radio I've recap my Jacksons radios I have 5 think! with 50 volt I have come a cross some Jackson on my bench where it says president Jackson paint work by the Channel selector top and bottom paint do gets worn out! Looks like some one have touched it up with autumn silver spray paint.
